TOLD THERE IS NO BRITISH JUSTICE BY SOLICITOR
I am appalled to be told by Mark Scott at Hansells
THERE IS NO BRITISH JUSTICE .. Why then has he charged me £35,000 for obviously not being able to do anything for me.
He appears to be more involved with the claiment than looking after me,He says to do as they ask without questions and he just keeps asking for money, but no bills ,,just saying an amount .l have asked for bills ,but the odd bills received come no where near the £35000 and nothing has been shown to me showing any work completed
Great customer service, thank you
We needed a statutory declaration witnessed and many companies do not provide this service - I assume because of the minimal fee they can legally charge.
Dav Kivyta at Hansells was not only very accommodating in getting the appointment booked, but also provided a great service on the day talking us through the process. It was really appreciated, thank you Dav.
I have just received another invoice…
I have just received another invoice from Hansells due to their incompetence of getting my files from my previous divorce solicitors as I lost confidence in them due to the complications of a french property brought in my name and my family's money and Hansells had managed my father's supposedly 'discretionary trust' .
My divorce hearings were delayed for reasons for i still dont understand until april 24. I had left my husband and was financially seperated after paying all the debts in 2018.
When we got to court - the judge told me I would be fined £10000, I believe on the basis of the delayed filing. The same files prepared for the court in Sept 23 other than a section 32..value £54k Increase £400 per year earnt when he was still in school.
He even got half of my injury money which was supposedly paid towards the care of my arm after I was crushed and dragged in a shooting accident on the farm and lost the use of my right arm for 2 years. note Hansells had the full transcript of the claim he made and demands for more money from the farm in my claim..yet he would not provide me with food and expected me to work and would not write a cheque out . And his solicitor claimed I dispensed family money aka my money contributing to my daughers wedding and a 21st birthday party, and i had to buy another car as he kept everything as his solicitor said he had ownership.
I was 67 years old and my husband 59. He had nothing when we married. I had a house(s) and during our marriage earnt more than he did and put in £180000 into his pension.
However the judge penaltised me. And I am still getting demands of money from Hansells from my first divorce solicitor.
My barrister told me she had very little evidence to support me at my court hearing.
My husband contacted me a withheld number laughing at Hansells incompetence...

Thank you Jane Mansell
We instructed Jane Mansell working from Hansells' Cromer office in connection with Lasting Powers of Attorney, on the recommendation of a family member. Initial impression of Jane was that she was friendly and approachable, putting us immediately at ease. We found Jane extremely helpful, informative and professional, answering each enquiry we had clearly and simply, assisting us when making difficult decisions when appointing our Attorneys. Jane carried out the work speedily and efficiently, keeping us and our Attorneys fully informed throughout the process. We would highly recommend Jane's services.

Kept up to date all the way , and not over charged in any way
This review is for the service and assistance and personal touch a Mr Mark Scott of Hansells Norwich provided me with .
I was looking to Annul a bankruptcy order , and needed legal advice and assistance . I searched many solicitors and went with Hansells .
Mark was very quick to respond to my enquiry , and soon arranged a meeting to go through the details . It had seemed to be like it was going to be fairly straight forward as I already had much correspondence and guidance from the official receiver . Mark was very good in providing a fixed fee for what work would need carrying out .
Sadly things got very messy , and this dragged on for much longer than expected , not down myself or Mark .
Mark saw things through to completion and a successful one ! The fees did go up but no where near the amount that maybe another firm would have added , as there was a lot more work in the end than either of us anticipated . Would highly recommend Mark for being honest and transparent .

Considering the size of the Estate it seemed drawn out but Beverley handled it with due care and attention with lots of patience.
Very pleased and would recommend.
DO NOT USE! Do not trust them.
DO NOT USE!Do not trust them. Hansels were recommended by our insurance company Trinity. they have done the same to us as it says in the review dated 08/05/24
They have been supposedly acting for us since 2021.. I kept chasing asking them to help resolve a dispute asap and all they said was they had to follow a process and it would be in our interest for the other party to take us to court.. Lies! We are now going to court next year.. Hansels Mark Scott now tell us we don’t have a leg to stand on! And after spending 40k they now want another 2.5 for what I don’t know..The case could cost us our home! I will be referring to the ombudsman..
Day light robbery. Modern day scammers. Do NOT believe any legal advice from them. It is all for their gain.

Terrible conveyancing that almost cost me a mortgage
Unfortunately Hansells fell short of expectations when instructed to do conveyancing for a home purchase. They kept dragging their feet till the last moment... and then they missed the deadline. Luckily my lenders did not require explicit commitment from the conveyancers in order to grant an extension, which many do.
All the while they were claiming they're chasing the seller for missing documents but the seller insisted there were no missing documents (so even if they were, they had not clearly been asked to find them).
If it wasn't for my excellent mortgage broker and very good property agent, I would have all but lost a very low mortgage offer, and ended up with more than double the mortgage rate.
Keep away. Would never, ever use again.

Would never use Hansells again
Would never use Hansells again , poor service , lost a cheque , Solicitor comes to work in jeans and t shirt , what happened to suits ?? So unprofessional DO NOT USE 😡😡😡😡
Absolutely shocking service - DO NOT USE
Absolutely shocking service, they have milked and milked money for four years then to state that there was no way of winning the case. Hansell's only care about making money for themselves and not about winning a case. There are lot's of decent solicitors out there and I suggest that you use one of those and avoid these at all costs!
Update:
One of the directors at Hansell's has contacted me saying that they can help with my dispute going down another route, this is after four years of milking my insurance company and me having to chase them all the way, in the four years I had to chase them all the way, they seldom contacted me with an update. I had to sort out all the surveys and quotes. For them now to show interest, but only if I remove this review, shows you exactly what sort of company they are.
Please don't use and show this review to your insurers if they choose to use them.

Appalled and worried
I am appalled and worried at the service received from Hansells solicitors in Cromer. My late father, who died in 2013, and my late stepmother, who died last year, trusted their sole and joint estate to Hansells, believing they would ensure legacies were administered efficiently and in a timely manner. Unfortunately, despite probate, being granted in December 2023, and the house being sold over six weeks ago, Jane Mansell, the solicitor dealing with the administration is failing to respond to emails and phone calls in a positive manner and is completely refusing to make even an interim payment to beneficiaries, despite Hansells now sitting on funds worth over £300,000! I am distressed to read another review of Hansells fraudulent activities and now suspect the worst. I will therefore be referring the case to the legal ombudsman with no further delay. I write this review in the hope that someone from Hansells might actually care enough to respond and to sort out the matter, but I feel there is a little hope given their apparently appalling past track record. Don’t ever use Hansells in Cromer, or it would appear elsewhere, as Solicitors, you feel you can trust!

Dreadful conveyancing from emma bumphrey. Mistakes made and no apology. Email sent to me from Paul oflaherty inviting me to a legal meeting with ex employee now prisoner in hmp Norwich Hugh Peter lansdell who defrauded 2 million from client accounts. I was given £200 to keep quiet by Roger holden. Matter is with Legal ombudsman and hope they investigate this firm. Appalling service.

Poor Performance
Looking back, I deeply regret not checking Hansell's negative reviews before making initial contact with them. It has been over 20 weeks since our initial outreach to Hansells concerning a leaseholder issue. After explaining our situation to them, they assured us that they could offer assistance and provided a comprehensive breakdown of their fees, along with a client care document. Encouraged by this, we made the decision to proceed and engage their services.
However, after a silent period of four weeks on their part, I took the initiative to email them, seeking confirmation that we hadn't been overlooked. I also conveyed our willingness to explore alternative options if they were overwhelmed with other cases. Nevertheless, they maintained that our case was advancing, and we chose to continue with them.
Ten weeks later, we received a draft letter, which we revised before sending it to the leaseholder. We received a bill for the letter via email within hours. Hansells informed us that they had received a swift response from the leaseholder and that our options were under consideration, with an assurance of a prompt follow-up. However, after an additional two weeks, when we inquired about a progress report, none was provided.
Three more weeks elapsed, and I decided to call their office to inquire about the status of our case, only to discover that no progress had been made. Frustrated by the lack of action, I requested a refund of the money I had paid. We now await to see how long it will take to process this.

I contacted Hansells..terrible firm.
I contacted Hansells and was told that a Neil Stubbs would contact me. I informed him that I had been told 1 hour in court would be fine. He quoted me £250 for this which I agreed. A couple of days later I received a written quote of thousands and Mr Stubbs said it could take a year. I immediately cancelled him and told him he had been dishonest. I then receive a bill for £600. 2 weeks later it went to court and did take 1 hour. Thank God I cancelled Hansells. I am reporting him to the Law Society and the ombudsman. My advice..don’t touch Neil Stubbs with a barge pole. My dates are aprx. Incedently one of Hansells solicitors has just been jailed for 4 years for steeling clients money. Lovely firm.

Outstanding communication and commitment
This was my first time needing a solicitor and I couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Kathryn Hirst and her team. My case was handled extremely well with consistent communication, transparency, and commitment to get everything completed in the short amount of time we were working with, often dedicating time outside of core hours to action any outstanding responses. I would highly recommend this team if you are looking for solicitors with expert knowledge in Employment Law, you won't regret it.

Give us your money.
Hansells were contacted as they were local to Norwich, to make an urgent Will for an elderly gentleman in Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital who has terminal cancer. An explanation to Mr. Hale from Hansells concerning this gentleman was given saying that there were no investments/shares, no property, and one bank account involved, all appeared to be reasonably straightforward. Mr. Hale said he would fulfill my request once certain conditions were met. To quote from his email '£800 plus VAT (£960) paid on account before the meeting (bank details will be provided if ********* wishes to proceed).' This was a minimum payment, the email stated it would be between £800 and £1200, plus VAT.
Three other Will-writing solicitors were contacted. After relating exactly the same to each solicitor as I had told Hansells, they informed me of their prices.
I then related what I had been told by Hansells in writing. There was an audible gasp from one, disbelief from another, and a brief query if I was being scammed by the third.
I chose an extremely well-respected Norwich company that delivered exactly what was requested and from initiation to completion, within forty-eight hours the Will was completed; this incidentally included two visits to NNUH. The fee for this excellent service was paid immediately upon completion. It was not cheap, but resembled nothing like Hansells quoted.
I have no problem paying for professional services (your fees were considered exorbitant by everyone) however, once I was told that unless payment was received before you got out of your chair, I was absolutely disgusted.
May I respectfully suggest that you review your working practice and possibly request an initial deposit that would not make you look like a money-grabbing company?

Hansells past fraud and theft were my late father's…
Hansells were my late father's solicitors I was an executor, their most senior solicitor went on to steal 200k from our account and £1.5m from five/six clients in total. Although the money did eventually get paid back it delayed the administration of the estate by probably two years. The managing partners Messrs Holden & Eagle did absolutely nothing to help. I had to get on my knees and beg Holden to discount our fees. There was never any apology or remorse, they were both wrapped up in their overinflated egos and pomposity. The thieving solicitor has never been brought to book or incarcerated.
The women in the conveyancing dept were good and I have no issue with them.
In the last decade we have probably spent the best part of 80k with which could be the worst firm of solicitors in Norfolk. No thanks, no appreciation nothing. Avoid this company like the plague they will take your money for little or no reward and no result.
