My partner and I came across their ad…
My partner and I came across their ad while scrolling on social media. They claimed signing up was free so I made an account and even encouraged my partner to do the same.
Then out of nowhere they charged my credit card $10. To make things worse they also charged my partner who only signed up because I recommended it. Now I feel stupid and embarrassed because it looks like I dragged both of us into a scam.
I’ve emailed their support team, but I haven’t heard anything back not even an automated response.

If you take one payment I will go to the NYS AG. I will point out that the information regarding payment is flashed quickly after button for download is hit. They can easily check this out themselves. In addition, I never give my credit card information for free products. You are a scam.

This place is a scam! You have to create an account to cancel a subscription that gets created when you chose the free download. What kind of business BS is that? On Shoppay their contact email is no-reply email. Still have the audacity to state based on their refund policy? Excuse me, you forced me to create an account to cancel. So based on what ToS I never accepted nor consented for a recurring subscription?

A subscription is never created automatically by a free download. A subscription can only be activated by completing checkout, where pricing, trial terms, and recurring billing are clearly displayed and must be explicitly confirmed.
To manage or cancel a subscription, an account is required. This is standard practice for any subscription-based service and is necessary so the system can securely identify the correct customer and subscription. It is not possible to cancel a subscription without authentication.
You did accept our Terms of Service and refund policy during checkout. Without that confirmation, checkout cannot be completed. There is no way for a subscription to exist without this step.

) is clearly displayed on our website, in checkout emails, and in the account area. We do not hide our contact information, and we actively resolve issues when contacted.
