Terrible with dealing with repairs they had disconnected an old electrical shower that wasn't used but then after that I was left with a leak from the pipe which should have been checked by a plumber I wasn't aware until the middle of the night and was left with it leaking out into the airing cupboard and the hallway as well as on the old shower shell in the bathroom with very little sleep as I had to keep emptying the water and cleaning and I have respiratory conditions asthma and sleep apnea and Hodgkin's lymphoedema so this isn't on as this can also affect my breathing conditions and is a health and safety hazard and risk with electric wires being near

Awful council, rude and untrustworthy staff in the offices encountered over the years.

I would rate less than 1 star if I could! Spent 4 hours on the phone in total over Tuesday and Wednesday only to be promised a call back by close of business Friday, needless to say to call never happened! SHOCKING

They are robbing every resident in the town
We are being forced to repeatedly pay for work that is not carried out, or sub par work at well over inflated prices
If we with hold the payments as the work isn't done or is to a poor standard they threaten with legal action
No amount of complaints has got any of the work rectified or refunded
I don't see why something isn't done about this
In our block of 12 we are paying over 200 per time, to have somone sweep 3 flights of stairs, once a month (20mins) because apparently that's the best deal for the tax payer
We have each paid 72 pounds to have the grass cut, this hasn't been done at all this year it's currently waist height
Light bulbs changed costing between 14 and 140
Only 3 of the flats are privately owned the other 9 payment are just coming out of everyone's tax
When u multiply these types of charges across how many flat blocks there are in crawley this is a multi million pound problem
How isn't this fraud, make it make sense

I have only lived in the area for almost 2 years but I can not fault the council, every request has been dealt with prompt, bin men are courteous. it’s been a delight so far! thank you

Worst council out there. As NHS staff working hard the only time I needed help they didn’t help me. Now we are suffering with my small child in mould and condensation in our private rental property and even tho we have long term conditions now still it’s not good enough for them to help us. Delays after delays. Section 21 expired went to court. Court taking long so they are withdrawing help because of that. Like what? I can’t drag a judge to sign our possession order. All this is mess up. Should not be like this. If I am paying my tax and we are working so hard as a family but stil don’t see good from our council or NHS. It keep disappointing us. On other hand, one of refuge family that I know got 4 bed house and everything is payed by this council surprises me like why. System is going backwards. Our family is from other country too but all I am saying we have worked and earned to get help if we need to.

What appalling customer service! I tried to call Crawley Council on 01293 438616 and someone picked up and disconnected. When I called back no one picked up and I was disconnected after 20 minutes on the line. What is the point of providing a phone number to your customers if no one answers?

Reported an issue 4 MONTHS ago. Still waiting for a response to my two emails and five voice messages!
Abysmal service as it concerns my disabled and housebound friend who can’t leave her home for three Months due to leaves from a VERY large tree on council land.

They are the reason crawley is such a mess. I need a bigger bin, they wont give me one. I have no choice but to flush my rubbish down the toilet and put what i can in recycling. Really condescending on phone and wont respond to complaints, cowards.

I cannot understand the lack of brain cells and common sense with the dustbin men employed at Crawley Council! Don't bother to move here! Worst council!
Had to complain to the council when the dustbin men couldn't be bothered to collect the rubbish to only be told it was my fault despite leaving the rubbish out as normal! Then the next time they did come, they refused to take the extra rubbish that they left the previous week because it was too much for them despite it being their fault in the first place so they just left it at the side of the road! On another occasion, they left one bag still in the bin! The council told me that was my fault as well as the binmen can only take 2 bags of rubbish (first I had heard of it) so if I have 3 then it won't get taken. We are a family of four here! The reception you get when you call (when you can finally get through) is appalling! It is never their fault and they are rude and unhelpful! I have never experienced such incompetence anywhere other than Crawley! This morning I find the bin right on the edge of my driveway so close to the road it was practically in the road! It could fallen into the road and this was during the rush hour. I suppose that would have been my fault too. Why couldn't the bin men just put the bin back where they found it? Away from the road and out the way in the same place it always is? Too much trouble for them I suppose! Just like it's too much of an effort to close the lid so that when it rains it doesn't fill the bin up. How are people this thick!? They can never ever do a job properly and what doesn't help is the council couldn't care less.

Do not move to Crawley. Worst council in the country. Warned them of a dangerous tree. They did nothing then tree came down on top of my car causing extensive damage and council say oh just claim on your own insurance so lose my NCD and pay excess.And also told pay for your own courtesy car. and other half of tree is still overhanging my front door.Dirty uneducated useless muppets. Spoke to their insurance company and been told total opposite. Now looking to move away from this abomination of a local authority. Stay away from here. High crime rate poor living conditions high rents so shops can’t survive but there’s plenty of money for an all new purpose built town hall so they can sit in comfort while they do bugger all for their tenants but harass you quick enough if you owe them even a pound. Dirty thieving money grabbing scum.

Just about every department I deal with is enept. Leasehold Services gave me 8 weeks notice of a £4000 bill. The Community Wardens don’t have powers to deal with ASB and Ilegal fishing next to my house. The Garage Team wrongly tried to end my garage tenancy. I’ve been reporting non-working street lights on the CBC website and they don’t get fixed, in fact ones just collapsed. Social Services don’t answer the phone and the rubbish dump has caught fire 3 times.

The council have been trying to visit our home to carry out an annual gas safety check.
This firstly is not due until June 2020 which has been confirmed by them.
Normally this would be no problem, however we have a premature 2 week old baby in the household and have been medically advised to self isolate during the Covid 19 pandemic.
After discussion with a representative of the gas team at the council it was agreed that they would wait until mid May to re evaluate and make another appointment.
All I had to do was to email him to explain the situation, which I duly did.
To my surprise we today received a letter advising us that we need to allow access and a date has been set 05/05/20 for them to visit, which contradicts their previous statement.
Also in the letter it threatens that if we deny access they will refer us to the county court outlining that we will have to pay council costs £500.
Why do departments at the council not communicate with each other and send threatening letters when there is no need to?
Hopefully they will return my call of today and resolve this matter otherwise I shall take further action to satisfy myself of their competence.
