Update - full refund emitted

I bought a $7 product a year ago without knowing they added a subscription of $239 to be charged a year later. Never used the platform whatsoever.
I’ve contacted samcart support the same day the amount was debited from my account, asking for a cancellation and refund which they refused.
After my review here on trustpilot and contacting creatorU support, they emitted a full refund.
What I initially thought was a scam company turned out to be a wonderful surprise of honesty. Thank you Larry L for your help! There’s still honest people in the world.

Scammer company! Fraud fraud fraud!

I purchased something from this company a year ago for $10 legitimately, and now a year later they are saying that I have a subscription to some AI creator thing? I did not want this service. I did not authorize this service. I opened up my banking app to see that they had automatically withdrawn $239 without my consent, this is clearly a scam, a very elaborate scam. I see that other people on here are having the same experience. I have tried to contact customer service, but I have not received a response yet disappointed This is clearly a mistrust of consumers and a scam, if I do not receive satisfactory resolution to this. I am going to escalate this to some other entity because it is some sort of consumer fraud, it has to be.

Really disappointed with this company

Really disappointed with this company. Didn’t realise I had signed up to a subscription and now have billed £196 a year later. Have contacted customer service however they are refusing a refund and instead offering coupons to the same value for other products. I just want my money back but I feel defeated already. Such a cliche but I have a son with brain cancer at home and I don’t have the energy to fight this. Very sad. I’ve read other reviews where refunds were given so seems very hit and miss

From $10 to $239: When Small Purchases Lead to Big Charges

I initially signed up for a $10 course on CreatorU, only to discover a year later that they had set up an automatic payment that hit me with a $239 charge—without any clear notice or recollection on my part. I’ve never used the site, nor did I knowingly authorize an annual subscription.

The day this charge appeared, I immediately emailed to request a refund, only to be flatly refused. This approach feels less like transparent business practice and more like a deliberate cash grab, taking advantage of customers who likely missed or never agreed to these terms. This kind of conduct is incredibly disappointing.

Refund received

Supposedly a year ago I signed up for something that would allow them to charge me 239 dollars a year later without even sending an email reminding me of this. I have no recollection of doing this and have never utilized the site. I am being refused a refund and I have not used this product ever. An email reminder of an upcoming charge if I didn't cancel would have been appreciated. SMH. Update: I have been issued a refund to PayPal for 239.00. It will take 5-30 days to reach my bank and I am nevative right now but I am thankful that I did receive a refund. I do believe that the company should send notification emails regarding renewing the subscription prior to charging. I honestly did not know I had subscribed to this, and I believe this to be bad business on their part. Customer service did promptly respond to me after I wrote a review on here, for which I am grateful.

Amazing service

Didn’t realise I signed up to a subscription service and it left me a bit short. Emailed the guys at CreatorU who were super understanding and refunded it right back. I can’t speak for their product as I didn’t end up using it but I can speak for their customer service!! Thank you again!
