Terrible online service
Terrible online service. avoid at all costs. Took a month to deliver a bike that was listed as taking max 7 days. Customer service advisors just lie and no tracking system.
Poor online experience - avoid, no communication processes at all
Poor online experience. I placed an order and received instant email to confirm, along with a 1-2 day delivery timescale. I had tweeted and emailed but had no reply. By day 9 the scooter had not arrived and I had to chase up. I was promised a call back within 24 hours, which didn’t happen. I called back and there was the same confusion over the order. I had to call back the following day to chase an update. Still more confusion. Finally the item arrived 15 days late. Comms is really poor. When you speak to the customer service team, they don’t give you confidence they have the answer, or trust their own suppliers. I won’t purchase from here again.

First class friendly service at Glasgow store
The service and professionalism I received from the Glasgow store has been first class - happy to recommend.
I visited the store to view and try a Scott eBike I saw online at their website and was keen to buy. Unfortunately the bike wasn't in store, but they were happy to order it from central stock to the shop without me being committed to purchase. They also discounted the list price to match the online discount codes - So I got the best of both worlds, online prices, and the bike build and checked in the workshop prior to collection.
I was contacted promptly when the bike arrived in store, and communications were faultless during the wait for an Energy Saving Trust eBike loan approval to come through.
The particular bike didn't come with pedals, but the guys offered a good discount on a pair off the shelf and fitted them, and threw in a bottle of chain lube. It took a while for the workshop to get the remote suspension lockout working correctly - but they persevered and got it working as it should.
Post-collection, the service has been great too. Stuart and David have been fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful.
Ordered a bike from cycle republic..bad customer service
Ordered a bike from cycle republic... they advertise on there site a boardman bike with the pictures it's a whole bike ... but it turns out its just a frame so I called before the frame was despatched was assured the frame had not gone out and I could change for a full bike ...someone would email me that day confirming rang them from 9.00 am till 4.30 when I did not receive any emails..so was told at 4.30 would get a call back to put my new order in.. then obviously n email or call back then at 2.00am I get a email saying the frame has been despatched... customer service is appalling...I will refuse delivrry and get a bike elsewhere
Bikes more expensive during Black Friday than they were last week!
Seems like a Black Friday con at Cycle Republic. The bike I was going to buy is £80 more expensive during Black Friday than it was last week! Buyer Beware!!!
Useless, Don't use them!
Useless! I reserved an ebike with Cycle Republic, specifically in Reading branch. They confirmed they had the bike I wanted and it was ready for collection, also confirming they could accept my 'Ride to work' voucher, which I had read out to them precisely, "yep, that will be fine" I was told. What a joke, I drove for an hour in awful road conditions and 20 minutes to find the shop after arriving. They seemed a bit vague about my order at first, then confirmed the Bike was there, but it was faulty!!!! This was two days after my initial order. Nobody had called me to let me know, they had no other bike at that price or anything like the model offered originally. All they could say was: "Sorry, we don't have one sir and we can't deliver one to you" then they seemed to think the whole situation was amusing somehow? I was fuming and realised these people had no in what they were doing or problems they were causing!!!!! Conclusion: DON'T GO THERE, DON'T USE THEM, THEY ARE COMPLETELY INCAPABLE OF RUNNING A BUSINESS.
Luckily, I found a small family run business near by and bought a lovely bike, before my 1 hour trip home in the rain again.
AVOID CYCLE REPUBLIC AT ALL COSTS.
Shocking lack of customer service Manchester store
Shocking lack of customer service; myself and another female customer waited the other night and got stared at whilst waiting at the till but none of the ‘male’ staff even gave so much of a slight acknowledgement. The woman before me was about to spend around £100 but we both felt so frustrated in being ignored that we both left without buying anything. I took my bike in a few days before I felt the arrogance and dismissive attitude of the workshop male staff were appalling. The staff only pay attention to male customers. If your a female they seems to make an unspoken suggestion you don’t know anything about bikes. They need some female staff and a female manager in this team. They need to learn the art of customer service. They lost a lot of potential money in myself and the other customer. The male staff need to grow up a little.

Tried to return a Garmin cycle computer within the 14 day statutory period for online sales (only to buy a more expensive one!), Cycle Republic representative told me that was not possible for "tech". Ridiculous, but had I known that Cycle Republic is part of Halfords I would never have bought anything there anyway.
Stay away from Cycle Republic!
They have usually inexperience mechanics. Whenever my bike was services there I ended up problem (twice the same problem when the derailleur went into spokes. First one happened immediately after taking the bike from service, the second one was in a busy junction when I had came off the bike). I now stopped taking my bikes to any branch of Cycle Republic.
I know occasionally some of the bikes, which were given to Cycle republic for repairs by customers, are actually taken to another store (their competitor nearby) to get it done as they are unable to do so.
I had two jackets with lights which the lights were stopped working. One of them was replaced under warranty as it happened shortly after the purchasing. The replacement jacket and new 2nd jacket also had same problem. They refused to repair or replace it or refund it. The communication for the same is still ongoing more 1.5 years. They now saying it's 3 years we cant do anything. This is not tear or wear problem. The lights in jacket was not made to last more then one season. it's now 3 years because every time I went to store to get answer it takes months and they ask to go to manufacture who also replies after 5-6 months advising i had to go back to Cycle republic for repairs or refund.
I am now in process of taking my complaint to an appropriate ombudsman.
In short, I would suggest anyone stay away from Cycle Republic for purchasing any item or any repair/service.
What a Great Service!
I would just like to say how absolutely delighted I am with the service I have just received from the Cycle Republic Liverpool store. Liam (the service Manager) helped me with a problem I had with the battery for my Gtech bike. There was a fault on it and he said that it would be replaced FOC. How delighted am I with that exemplary service......I was prepared to suffer a long drawn out problem. Thank you so much to Liam and his team in Liverpool and to Cycle Republic, you have been great!

Disappointing.
I ordered a bike from this site, applied for finance and got accepted.. I never heard anything else for a few days until the next email I received which is to tell me that it isn't available anymore?
So... Why is it advertised on your website a week later still? Why not tell me this BEFORE getting me to sign up to finance. This isn’t the first push bike I’ve had and certainly not the first finance item I’ve had but this is absolutely the worst experience. No offer of a replacement to resolve THEIR issue. Absolute crap service. AVOID.
Messy and disorganised
Their workshop in the Edinburgh Morrison Street branch is a total mess. It's no surprise they were not able to locate something I had ordered and been told had arrived. I had to return twice and there was still empty packaging, random paperwork and tools all over the place. Staff seem nice enough but disorganised.
Super helpful
Super helpful. Having had various new parts assembled by the guys at Margaret St i had to drop in to ask some advice on a repair. They did it then and there for me (admittedly only a 5 minute job for them) but saved me hours of faffing around. Massively appreciated it. Top marks!

I bought a electric bike from cycle…
I bought a electric bike from cycle republic in August last year and couldn't have been happier at the time with the sales person and my new bike. After about 8 months of having it the disc needed replacing so I brought the bike into the fenchurch store. They booked me a silver service for a week's time, I brought the bike in and was told no parts needed replacing. I was surprised as this was contrary to the advice given in the repair shop downstairs. I paid £60 and left thinking my bike was now usable. A few days later the same problem developed. I called the store and they booked me another appointment. On the day of the appointment I arrived only to be told no booking had been made, and the man in the repair shop told me he would order me another part. I waited a few days and didn't hear anything. I returned to the store only to be told it hasn't arrived and they will call me once it does. I never did receive a call back.
I contacted head office and was met by a very robotic response ( if only I could post those emails here to show the level of incompetence )
After loads of back and forth emailing head office said they would get the repair shop to call me. That is not the response I wanted from head office as I could have rang the repair shop myself.
The lack of customer care has been absolutely shocking, and I have now had to resort to contacting the ombudsman to help me.
If i knew what I know now I would never have purchased a bike from here. They are great sales people but once you have a problem they don't want to help you and you are left stranded. Stay well clear of this company.
