Unreliable and very poor customer experience

I am a first time customer, ordered an Exposure bike light on Sunday with a promised 3-5 day delivery on a "Black Friday" deal, expecting to get it by the end of the week. I got no updates and enquired at the end of the week and was told they would sort it out. 3 days later I check and my order was cancelled, no notification to me or anything and the same item I ordered was available on the website for a higher price. So you can't rely on anything you see on their website, if you get the item you ordered that is a bonus, but, I will be avoiding them.

Shambles of a company

Shambles of a company, awful customer service, putting through a warranty claim with them gets you nowhere, they just pass it on to halfords with zero communication who then have no clue how to go about it. Stay away from buying

Not happy with them

Not happy with them, they used to be good, but now they just rip off people with high repair prices and the quality of the replacement is not good and every time I have something fixed, straight after fixing it, something else breaks, I had that happened too many times and looks more like they are just messing things up.

Terrible all round.

Purchased a bike on the 14th of April, Arrived damaged and very poorly built (gears and brakes didn't work properly, huge chip in the frame). Took me a week or so to arrange a return, had to drive 45 mins to drop it off at a Halfords.

They then said they had dispatched a new bike, which never arrived. I got no replies to my emails, i rang every week for 4/5 weeks and was just told they were looking into it by people who did not seem to care and just wanted me off the phone.

19th of June comes and i received an email saying
"I am sorry that it has taken so long to resolve the issues with your order.

As we are unable to supply the bike you ordered, we have processed the refund of your purchase."

Terrible customer service, and no real apology for holding my £550 for 10 weeks and not giving me any communication about the order.

1 star is too much to be honest but…

1 star is too much to be honest but that was the only option!!

Received the bike for my son 2 weeks ago, he rode it twice and the gears snapped! A £300 bike that cant be ridden and a very upset son. Tried to contact cycle republic via phone and via email 3 times to which I am yet to receive a response.
Yes they are closing down but you still have a duty of care to the customers who have purchased from you up until the date you actually cease trading.
I would never recommend this company

Surprisingly positive experience

I was worried after reading these reviews after completing my order. Accessories arrived on time. The bike was late and I had to email for updates. Any time I emailed, i received an adequate reply on the same day. Bike arrived today, 7 days beyond the initial delivery estimate. It is well assembled and packaged, with no damage. The order was built and sent by Raleigh, which may be the reason for my positive experience.

If I could have left zero stars I would have. Ordered a bike 20th April 2020. Emailed the next morning to cancel my order. Then phoned the business after waiting hours to get through, someone called me back that evening and said your order has been canx, please allow up to 5 working days for refund. Now, 6th June 2020, I've still no refund. 3 weeks ago, a bike appeared at my front door by courier. I refused the delivery. I've had no follow up by customer service as I was told this would be escalated to their accounts team. Shocking service.

I placed an order on 26 April 2020 and I am still waiting for my delivery. Bike and accessories ordered and only 1 of the 10 items ordered has arrived. Cannot contact Cycle Republic and telephone number doesn't work.E-mailed and sent web enquiries too many times to count, not a single response.

Halfords customer care is useless and cant put me into contact with anyone. They won't give out a contact number so no help form Halfords.

So frustrating!

I would advise everyone to steer clear of these crooks!

I never write bad reviews but this is an exception. I ordered a bike on 9th May, got a dispatch email on 13th May, and I've been waiting patiently for it. I emailed Cycle Republic and had no reply for a week, so I emailed Halfords to see if they could help. This morning I got an email from Cycle Republic to say my bike was never built, never dispatched and they've got no stock left. Absolutely disgusted that they've taken my money, kept hold of it for a month, lied about dispatching the bike and then didn't have the courtesy to get in touch with me AND ignored all my attempts to contact them.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Tour De Never

I assumed that the company would be fine with it being listed as a supplier through cycle2work. Accessories came 2 days after the order was made, unfortunately I've not had the urge to put it all on and walk around town for the last month whilst waiting for the bike.
Managed to get a reply via email after many attempts to say the status of the order had changed, with no mention was that actually meant and to get in touch again on Monday. Again, no response after numerous attempts. The bike is no longer listed on the site so I would assume it's no longer in stock, all the while waiting for absolutely no reason. Dreadful company. If they don't go out of business after this I would be very surprised. Horrendous.

Don't trust Cycle Republic - but I did get a full refund

Ordered a £1800 bike on 6th April, plus the necessary set of pedals, with a delivery expectation of 10-12 days. 3 days later a set of pedals was delivered, most exciting but as of 1st June NO BIKE! Several e-mails to Cycle Republic resulted in no reply and the phone line has been disconnected. I raised a complaint through Halfords customer service on 8th May and received a promise of a 10% refund within 5-7 days and a delivery soon, neither of which has happened. I did get an e-mail a few days later saying they could fulfil a different colour way, which was in fact an inferior machine, but would have been acceptable in the circumstances, so I accepted the offer. Three weeks later I went through the Halfords Customer Service line and spoke to a real human being. Within a week I had a full refund of the cost of the bike, and have now decided to purchase from our local bike outlet.

Avoid like the plague.

Ordered a +£2000 electric cycle

Ordered a +£2000 electric cycle. Happy to take your money, but no contact, no update...nothing for 3 weeks. Managed to get through to Halfords chat line, they looked into it but have no details or update on order. This is bloody shocking, I've not ordered a newspaper or take out. Despite many emails to them not one reply...s....hit customer service. Have purchased before with no issues.

I wrote a review a couple of weeks ago about getting a bike delivered with the pedal missing after nearly giving up after emailing them a few times someone did get back to me and wanted the order number I did get a set of pedals a couple of days later but they were just basic pedals not the right pedals for the bike so I emailed again and was told the don't keep spare pedals for my bike and that's why they sent these things that look as if there off a clowns bike I will not be putting them on I bought another pair of Amazon so it's not been a nice experience dealing with them but I can use the thing now I wouldn't buy another thing of them or halfords just letting people know as soon as they have your cash the don't care very much.

This would be 0 stars if it was possible.

I ordered 2 helmets, 1 was delivered, the other I am still waiting on, 3 weeks later.

I have emailed them numerous times asking for more information, they never reply.
Awful customer experience, and as many others have mentioned, do not buy from them.

I have already alerted paypal and will get a refund one way or another.

Terrible service dont bother

Bought cycle online. Took money and acknowledged but no cycle within stated extended timescale and no reply to email sent. Can't find a phone no. to speak to them on. Finally had to raise a dispute through Paypal as that's how I'd paid. No response to Paypal from them. I escalated it and Paypal found in my favour and I got a refund and finally an email from Cycle Republic saying they didnt have the bike in stock nor any info on when it would be in stock again...but they'd happily kept my money for 6 weeks.

shocking company with non existent customer service

Firstly, giving this company 1 star is far too generous. I ordered a bike on April 14th with a delivery time of 10 working days. After 10 working days they changed their delivery time to 10-15 working days. After 15 working days my bike still hadn't been delivered so I sent them an email. A few days later I still hadn't had my bike delivered or a reply to my email so I sent them another one. On working day 23 I still had no bike or reply. On working day 28 I still had no bike or reply. Today (27th May) I finally got a reply to my email telling me the bike I ordered is out of stock and my order has been cancelled, I am now waiting on a refund. So over 6 weeks after I ordered my bike, and over 3 weeks after my first email they finally reply, telling me something they could have told me on the first day.

Ordered 4 D-locks

Ordered 4 D-locks. First 2 arrived promptly. Nothing about the missing 2. I contacted them and all of a sudden I received a message from dpd saying they were going to deliver the missing two locks. However they only delivered one. I have emailed them every week with picture of the packaging list saying the parcel contained only 1 lock and the fact that DPD only delivered 1 parcel. No reply. So I just raised a dispute via the credit card company for non delivery and get my money back via that route.
