To the Management and Legal Department…

To the Management and Legal Department of Cyprus Airways,
I am writing to provide formal notice that I am now escalating my complaint regarding Flight CY342 (March 12, 2026) to the relevant regulatory authorities.
Despite my repeated attempts over the past two weeks to address serious safety violations and crew misconduct, your department has failed to provide a professional response or a resolution. I will no longer wait for an internal review that has clearly been stalled.
As of today, I am moving forward with the following actions:
1. Report to the Cyprus Department of Civil Aviation (DCA): I am filing a formal report regarding the cabin crew’s failure to enforce "No Smoking" laws (e-cigarette use) and their failure to manage a disruptive passenger, which compromised the safety of the cabin.
2. Complaint to EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency): I am submitting a report regarding the breach of EU aviation safety standards and the lack of professional intervention by your staff during an in-flight incident.
3. Submission to the Cyprus Consumer Protection Service: I am lodging a grievance regarding the total lack of accountability and the dismissive treatment of a passenger by the national carrier.
I chose to fly with my national carrier out of pride and trust. That trust has been completely broken—not only by the events on the flight but by your company's silence.
Any further communication from your side must now include a formal decision and a tangible resolution. Otherwise, these regulatory bodies will handle the matter of your safety protocols on Flight CY342.

DO NOT FLY WITH THEM!

This company is a scam, how they are still allowed to operate beggars belief. They cancelled my flight less than 24h before, they acknowledged I was entitled to 1,600 EUR of compensation under EU rules, and they haven't paid for 23 months now. At some point someone asked for my bank details to process the payment, never received anything. I have now learned that they were also hacked and passengers info was compromised. Nobody on their side has replied to confirm if it was them or a scammer who asked for my bank number. These people are not just incompetent, this is organised scamming.

Disappointed with Cyprus Airways app &…

Disappointed with Cyprus Airways app & service. Booked LCA-DXB round-trip (ref 9YVHVQ, €296) for 15Mar2026. Flight CY106 cancelled with <3 days notice due to geopolitical issues. Airline refused rerouting on Emirates (operating same day) & hotel/meals, claiming "force majeure" excuses everything. Wrong—EU261 requires care (accommodation/meals) even in extraordinary circumstances (CJEU McDonagh confirms). Forced to pay own hotel while waiting. Poor support, ignores passenger rights. Avoid for disrupted routes.

I am still waiting for a compensation…

I fly quite often with Cyprus Airways and generally have had good experiences. On my most recent flight from Paris, the departure was delayed by 3 hours and 50 minutes. The EU261 compensation (€400 per passenger) was approved and, after some follow-up, was successfully paid on 5 February 2026. The matter has now been resolved.

If you have the option, choose a different airline — this experience was simply not worth the stress.

Extremely disappointing experience with Cyprus Airways regarding wheelchair assistance for a senior passenger — made even worse by their chosen logistics and ground services partner, AEOLUS.

Upon arrival at Dubai airport, the passenger was told that assistance ended at the baggage belt and that collecting her luggage and finding her way out was “her own problem.” She was forced to push herself along with the baggage cart. When this was raised with an AEOLUS ground agent, the response was openly rude and dismissive: “This is not my problem; you should have booked porter services.” No empathy, no accountability, no professionalism.

When I asked why this limitation was never communicated at the time of requesting wheelchair assistance, the response was equally unacceptable: “Don’t ask me, ask your airline.”

After contacting the call centre, I was assured that such behaviour was unacceptable and not standard practice. Yet on the very next flight, upon arrival in Cyprus, the passenger was once again left without a wheelchair and told to walk on her own.

This is not just poor service — it is disrespectful and undignified treatment of an elderly passenger who required basic assistance.

If Cyprus Airways chooses to outsource ground services to cheap agencies, they remain fully responsible for the conduct and standards of their partners. Based on this experience, passenger care is clearly not a priority.

Absolutely Disgusting Customer Service…

Absolutely Disgusting Customer Service – Avoid Cyprus Airways at All Costs

I am utterly appalled by my experience with Cyprus Airways. Without any notification whatsoever, they changed my flight and left me completely stranded at Dubai Airport. No email, no message, no explanation — nothing.

When I desperately reached out for assistance, their so-called “customer service” was non-existent. No one helped. No solutions were offered. I was essentially left on my own in a foreign airport with no way to get home.

In the end, I was forced to pay out of pocket for a new one-way ticket just to return home safely. This is absolutely unacceptable from any airline, let alone one that claims to care about its customers.

Cyprus Airways has shown zero professionalism, zero responsibility, and zero concern for their passengers. I have never felt so let down by an airline in my life.

Think twice before booking with Cyprus Airways — their negligence and lack of basic customer support could cost you hundreds and leave you stranded just like it did to me

Never again with Cyprus Airways!


Last year they changed our flight time from morning to afternoon, and then we had another 3-hour delay and they ended up transferring us to another airline.
This year I asked them to wait 5 minutes for my husband, who had dropped his wallet, and they said they couldn’t because they would depart on time.

They persuaded me to change my flight and go with Wizz, promising €250 compensation for each of us. They immediately sold our tickets to others, and the flight ended up leaving with a 30-minute delay — enough time for my husband to have made it.

The worst airline, because they lie and resell tickets twice.

Extremely Unprofessional and Disappointing Experience with Cyprus Airways

I’ve never encountered such a poorly managed airline. Cyprus Airways is the definition of unprofessional — from the clueless customer service to the complete lack of organization and accountability. It felt like no one had a clue what they were doing, and the overall experience left me seriously questioning the competence of the staff involved.

There was zero communication, no effort to help, and honestly, a shocking lack of basic knowledge you’d expect from anyone working in the airline industry. It’s as if the entire operation is being run without any training or standards. I’ve flown with many airlines, and this was by far the worst.

Cyprus Airways Disgusting Service

Same problem as other customers have highlighted. Scammed money out of me by letting me upgrade but no upgrade existed. No response for 6 months now, absolute sham. On top of stealing money, they left my bag at the point of departure ruined the whole holiday. Staff don’t care, absolute disgrace. When departing I had to contact their head office as the tickets we had printed out were not accepted, made the flight by 5 minutes. If you take any advice, do not go near this company, they are the worst aviation, airline business in the world.

It is a scam

It is a scam. Probably very close to being in bankruptcy. I did not get the refund of €600 for my canceled flight for a year and a half and I'm still fighting for that. Avoid using these airlines if you can.

Not as bad as I thought

Not as bad as I thought. After reading all those negative comments on TrustPilot I got really worried that I would waste my money and miss my trip. Ends up that my flight was on time both ways, ticket price was unbeatable (less than 200EUR from LCA-CDG and back during Christmas time) and the airplane was not that bad. I hope they keep this up. There is still room for improvement for sure but overall it was good

Ignoring refund for their cancelled flight

Cyprus Airways cancelled our flight to Milan. It has been several months and they have not refunded us for the cancelled flight. We called, and emailed them and beyond an initial email response, they are ignoring our emails. Absolutely disrespectful treatment, and I will not fly with them ever again.

Cyprus airways flight.

I flew with Cyprus airways for a long weekend to Milan last mid December and overall it was a pleasant experience. Online check-in was simple, the outbound flight from larnaca left on time, the seating was clean and comfortable and I had the middle seat empty.

On the return flight I also had the middle seat empty and whilst we left with a 50 minutes delay, I'm not sure if that was solely to do with the airline. It would've been nice if they hadn't run out of sandwiches but I was fine. The staff were pleasant and made the best of the situation concerning overhead luggage for passengers needing to store it elsewhere.

I do feel better they use Airbus A320s Vs Boeing 737s. It would be nice to collect the airmiles, however at the moment there isn't a mileage program.

Invisible company with no respect for…

Invisible company with no respect for passengers or legal obligations.

I had a similar experience with the person who has already written a negative review.

Back in April 2024 my flight from Brussels got cancelled and my family and I were stuck for 2 days in an airport hotel before they managed to fly us back to Cyprus. This meant inconvenience, extra annual leave for work, child missing school days, and extra expenses for dog sitters.

As a result of the above we submitted a claim to be compensated under the EU regulation relating to passenger rights.

Despite our reminders it has been over 6 months with no payment, no follow up, no accountability on behalf of this company.

When you call the customer service department they inform you that another department is handling the EU regulation claims but you cannot reach to them directly. This is an invisible company which does not value at all their customers as they do not comply with their legal obligations and fail to make a simple payment after 6 months. I wonder if they would be ok to receive their clients’ payments after 6 months.

It is a complete disgrace for regulators to allow such companies to even exist.

Hopefully, the regulators will also take their respective responsibilities and start to close these companies down.

With this attitude towards its customers, Cyprus Airway’s days are numbered.

Horrible Customer Service and No Refund After 3 Months

My experience with Cyprus Airways has been beyond disappointing. I requested a refund over three months ago and have been met with silence and empty promises ever since. Despite numerous calls to their call center (which no one answers) and multiple emails, I have received no satisfactory response.

When I reached out via their chatbot last week, I was assured my refund would be processed by Friday. It’s now a week later, and nothing has happened. This is an unacceptable way to treat customers, and I’m left feeling ignored and disrespected.

If you’re thinking of booking with Cyprus Airways, be warned—customer service is virtually nonexistent, and you’re left chasing your own money for months with no resolution in sight.
