Faulty furniture and a disappointing resolution process
I ordered a corner sofa set because I needed it quickly for a garden event. Unfortunately, once assembled, it became clear that parts of the frame were faulty. Two of the sofa frames did not line up properly, the fixing holes were misaligned, and one of the frames also had a crack in it. This was not just cosmetic damage, it raised concerns about the structure and long-term usability of the furniture.
The delivery process was also poor. I was given less than 24 hours’ notice of the delivery, which meant I had to rearrange my working day at very short notice. Because the packaging was too large to fit through the house, I had to have it left on the drive, rush back from work, unpack everything outside so it could be brought through the house, and then return to work. This alone cost me around two hours of work time.
After discovering the fault, I then had to spend more time working out why the furniture would not fit together properly, taking photos, recording a video, sending batch numbers, and explaining the issue in detail. The company has offered to exchange the faulty parts, which is what I would expect for a faulty product, but the process still puts a lot of the burden back on me.
I have been told that the faulty frames need to be safely repackaged before collection, but the original box is unusable after being left outside due to its size, and the company says they cannot provide replacement packaging. Their drivers also cannot collect the frames unprotected and cannot help with dismantling or assembly. So, despite receiving faulty goods, I am still expected to manage the dismantling, wrapping, collection arrangements, and then reassembly of the replacement parts.
I understand that faults can happen, and I do not judge a company solely on that. What matters is how the issue is resolved. In this case, it feels like the company is doing the bare minimum while leaving the customer to deal with much of the inconvenience, time, disruption, and practical difficulty caused by the fault.
I am still trying to resolve the matter, but so far the experience has been very disappointing. Given the amount of time wasted and the lack of practical support, I would be hesitant to order from them again.

Premium delivery paid for not delivered
I paid £19.98 for next day delivery so I would have my parasol for the sunny bank holiday weekend; unfortunately for an unknown reason DHL delivered the base but no parasol until the Tuesday after. I am currently trying to get the money back for the premium delivery from Daal.
