We had a great time renting with David Astburys. This was mainly due to the fact that our property manager Selda was incredible! She was always so prompt in her replies and really assisted us with every detail. The whole process of moving in and out went so smoothly due to her help, truly nicest property manager we’ve ever had ☺️ definitively recommend!

Very professional team, from the initial contact with Cheyenne. She was very helpful, accommodating to our requests and made herself available. Once we moved in Safa was appointed as our property manager and proved to be very efficient and prompt with dealing with issues with the property. Great service all round. Truly feels reassuring to have dedicated professional like them. It makes our life easier.

Selda has managed the flat we were renting for a couple of years now. Communication was always swift and effective, and anything that needed doing quickly actioned. Very good experience and sad to be saying goodbye!

David Astbury's have been great throughout our nearly 4 year tenancy. I wish all estate agents were like this. Would like to give particular thanks to our property managers Elena and Safa. They've always gone above to help us even through some difficult times. Nothing was ever too difficult. Five stars!

David Astburys has been amazing in selling our home recently. A big shout out to Simon Etson and Ceyda Selim (in the Hampstead area) for their amazing efforts in taking care of us from start to finish. Very professional, very thorough and very personable. They put the other real estate agents to shame. I cannot recommend them enough!

Have had a few recent issues as a tenant that have required repairs, and Makaie has been incredibly helpful throughout the process. Always quick to respond and escalate when needed. He’s always kept me in the loop so I’m aware of what’s going on and managing expectations. He’s been very efficient and professional, can’t praise him enough!

We have been letting out our property with David Astburys and have been working with Safa who has been a fantastic property manager; she is incredibly professional, efficient and a joy to work with. Although there have been a few issues with the tenancy, Safa has managed them expertly and always in a timely manner.

My experience with David Astburys has been nothing but great so far. I have had a few issues in my flat this past year, and Selda, the property manager, has truly gone above and beyond to provide support and fix issues as fast as possible. I already had a positive experience with the letting process, and this only confirms my review of this agency as one of the best in the city.

Although we’ve had a lot of issues, Selda has been incredible throughout it all. Extremely responsive and always very understanding when there’s an issue. I am beyond pleased with the service she has provided so far.

My experience with David Astburys was truly exceptional from start to finish. Every step of the way, I felt supported and well informed. Shakir initially showed me the property, and I was impressed by his professionalism and kindness. What stood out about David Astburys, compared to my past experiences with estate agents, was the genuine care and absence of pressure. Shakir took the time to advise me and kept me updated on the property I was interested in, without pushing me to make an offer. He offered valuable guidance during the offer process, and I was thrilled to secure the flat I wanted.

Once my offer was accepted, I was introduced to March, who seamlessly managed communication between the seller, me, the buyer, and solicitors. March was incredible - so supportive and always in touch, keeping me updated on the progress and acting as a bridge between me and my solicitors. She was there to answer my anxious questions with patience and kindness, offering both professional support and a friendly ear. Thanks to her efforts, I was even able to confirm my completion ahead of April 1st to avoid the new stamp duty charge, saving me from hefty fees.

Even after the sale was complete, both Shakir and March reached out to congratulate me and continued to offer help with any questions I had about the property. I can’t recommend David Astburys highly enough - they are far from your typical estate agency.

I made an offer for a flat last year via David Astbury (DA). They told me in, writing, that pending work to the property had already all been sorted and funded. To cut a long story short, this prove to be untrue and there was still uncertainty about it- which ended up causing the deal to fall through after great expense on my side. After, I talked with the vendor- she explained the full story- how she had been unhappy with the deal from the start and had made an official complaint about the agent (the agent suddenly left her job after the offer) which of course was never relayed back to me. I will leave the vendor to leave her own review.

Secondly, as you all well know- estate agents get commissions for referrals to solicitors and brokers. DA is the only agent I have heard of making it ‘compulsory’ for you to take advice from their ‘in-house financial advisor’- which in actual fact is just another external broker. I have since found out that agents can NOT oblige you to speak to their affiliated* brokers.

I’ve been after them since to recoup my costs as the offer was made on false pretences. I have emailed one Aaron Cox, their CEO/partner for a response. They are supposed to give a written response within a given time frame but instead I got an offer for a ‘chat’ and have heard nothing since- they have been hiding from me since. They are not even following their own complaints procedures. I have now just reported them to the ombudsman and waiting their response.

Lastly, DA are going to lose far more money due to reputational damage than if they had just engaged with my complaint, owned up to their fault and paid me back my conveyancing costs. Average house price in Islington is £650k. That would make £13k (2%) on each property sold. If just 5 people avoid DA due to my reviews- both online and word-of-mouth (I am an Islington resident) – then that is £65k they have lost. The fees I am trying to recoup are a fraction of this. Not only is their behaviour unethical, it is poorly-thought out bad business.
