Excellent customer care. The plant I ordered had been pruned back so they offered me various options including money back. I chose to take the plant which is just great. Well packed and good condition.

I will start by saying that I eventually got a refund, but it was a real faff to get it.

I ordered a number of plants including some larger hydrangeas. The hydrangeas were in very poor condition when they arrived and I made note on the delivery manifesto, took photos and immediately contacted David Fairley ((by email)). I received no reply so I phoned - I was told I would receive a reply. I didn't receive a reply so I followed this up with another email.

My reply was astonishing. Firstly, I was told that they were 'over' because they had already flowered in Italy. Secondly I was told that DFG sell wholesale standard plants, not garden nursery plants. Can you imagine that kind of BS. Anyway, I explained that I buy thousands of plants a year through our business and that was rubbish.

I eventually got my refund, but what a load of old cobblers in their excuses.

Ordered 2 buddleja plants, only 1 delivered. Had to chase up other. For this reason would only give 3 stars. They did apologise for oversight, but felt not enough attention to detail given by them.

Efficient service, the item arrived on time and in good condition

We have just bought 6 trees (3 Photinias and 3 Camellias) from David Fairley Gardens and received an excellent service from start to finish. Got lots of help with selecting the right trees and had an excellent planting service from their team who were both timely, efficient and cleared up all the turf and soil afterwards. Excellent service that we would highly recommend.

I was kept in touch with the progress of my order and the delivery status.

My order arrived several weeks after the expected delivery time. Moreover, the plants were in a bad shape: a number of twigs were broken and some leaves had died out. Also the packing was not properly marked and the order was delivered to me UPSIDE DOWN! I contacted the supplier about the issues I encountered, but the communication was very bad and there was no resolution proposed. I cannot recommend this supplier.

Great quality trees and delivery was very well organised

I have to admit that I am a little more than disappointed with the straggly 5 leaved “bush” I paid nearly £40 for. It was spindly and although I had picked the largest size available and it came in a large pot it was not worthy of the price at all. It arrived well packaged though and although took a while to be sent- which was fine, I had no problems having it sent to a different address as it was a present for someone.
But I won’t buy again from them as it’s obvious they had no pride in the standard of livestock they send out. I was embarrassed to see how poor it was when it arrived at their house. I wouldn’t buy again if you can’t get an actual picture of the plant they are sending. It’s a sort of thanks for nothing situation?

Product and shipping was great, but could have been a bit quicker responding to the out of stock issue.
