I was in your braehead store purchasing sketchers today 29/6/25, honestly the styles and pricing are amazing. However when I went to check out my trainers the sales assistant asked if I wanted my trainers colour protected, I declined the offer, the sales assistant again said are you sure you don't want it done, it lasts 6 months very forcefully. I said I dont want it and dont ask me a third time.
My 15 year old daughter was next, I told him she doesn't need them colour protected either, i nipped out the store and left my daughter with my husband, again he asked her if she wanted it done even though I specifically said she didn't need it. My husband said I think my wife already told you no.
I get you need to ask about products, but the pushiness of this individual was disgraceful. Whatever happened to No means No
Very disappointed

I have loved this brand since childhood and have consistently found great shoes across various stores in Europe, where customer service is usually excellent. Unfortunately, my experience at the Watford Atria branch has been extremely disappointing.
-Lack of Assistance
At this location, staff members do not offer help or engage with customers. They often walk around aimlessly or retreat to the back of the store, making it difficult to find assistance. I always have to search for my own shoe sizes and even struggle to find someone at the till when I’m ready to pay.
+Unacceptable Staff Behavior
On several occasions, I’ve been reprimanded for trying on multiple pairs of shoes. I have wide feet, so I need to try different styles to find a comfortable fit. Once I do, I usually buy several pairs at a time and spend a considerable amount every few months. Despite this, the staff treat me as though I’m an inconvenience.
Even worse, I’ve overheard rude remarks made about me while I was trying on shoes—comments said loudly enough for me to hear. I’ve never encountered such unprofessional behavior at any other branch.
-Lack of Identification and Disrespect
Staff members do not wear name badges, making it difficult to identify them in a complaint. However, I can describe two specific male employees who are both short in stature and consistently speak disrespectfully to women—both customers and their own colleagues.
-Poor Store Experience
It is not the customer’s responsibility to return all shoe boxes to the shelves, especially when staff are available to help. I’ve seen many boxes left in disarray by other shoppers, and I shouldn't be expected to clean up. Yet the staff show no willingness to assist and even complain when I have a few boxes with me—despite my intention to buy all of them.
I frequently shop with family and often purchase five or more pairs in a single visit. Still, the treatment I receive makes me feel like a burden rather than a valued customer.
-Comparison to Other Stores
In other European locations, staff have gone out of their way to help—offering to return shoes to shelves and checking if I need assistance. At Watford, I’ve never once seen a staff member make a similar effort. Instead, customers are ignored, and the atmosphere feels unwelcoming.

Ordered shoes last week before 4pm as it says online you will receive your shoes next day if ordered before 4pm and still haven’t received the shoes 5 days later after paying £4.99 delivery. No tracking nothing - just disappeared!! Called one of their shops & they were useless & unhelpful too! Now I have to try & get my money back!! Would never use again!!!

Just wanted to say that Emma W in the Birmingham store was really helpful, I'd happily go back there.

Price was good, timely delivery from a LOCAL courier that we see often.

Disgraceful & rude. Older member of staff, The man (Brian) in the bournemouth store was so unhelpful and the way he speaks to us customers is appalling he shouldn’t be representing a company at all especially with that manner really puts a downer on the business.
Will not be returning after the way the old man treated me.

Very low stocks in store. Resorted to purchasing online which can be tricky with Deichman as their sizes are slightly different to other stores. As it turned out, shoes were perfect and delivery was faultless!

This review is in relation to the Stockport, Manchester branch.
Unfortunately this is the 2nd time I’ve had to raise an issue with the staff in this store.
I was in the shop looking round and was waiting for my parents to arrive so I could let my dad pick his own trainers for a gift. A young male member of staff started following me, I imagine that for some reason he must’ve thought I may steal something. Unsure why when I was just looking around but it made me extremely uncomfortable. He was very close and followed me at a high speed to the point he nearly fell over turning a corner as I was stood looking at shoes. Very weird. My parents arrived and I told my dad that I didn’t think I wanted to give this place my money and shown him who made me uncomfortable and my dad told a man called Mat on the till who just looked at him blankly and said “oh”. No apology, acknowledgement or any words at all in fact. The staff in this store have always been rude and ignorant. I don’t think me and my family with bother again as we've given them too many second chances.

Brilliant service. I only ordered my sandals on Saturday afternoon and they arrived by lunchtime on Monday. The sandals are great and true to the description. Have used Deichmann previously and they are just as good this time. Thank you.

Really good value, but customer service needs a lot of work. Bought sandals today and after a lengthy wait - one on till dealing with a buyer complaint, the other a little flustered, I finally got served. You advertise discount for NHS workers but refuse Blue Card? This was fine, bit no bag offered, and box shoved to edge of till. Cursory politeness at best.

Ordered online as there is no store remotely close to my home .
Peppa pig sandals arrived in a ripped dented and battered box . My granddaughter really wanted the box and the sandals but as no further in stock I’ve had to keep them . Poor customer service as it was packed like this .

I had a very disappointing experience at this shop today in Eastbourne while buying a pair of shoes. From the moment I walked in, there was no help or greeting from any staff. The only person around was a large-built man with an unkempt beard who looked more like a disgruntled customer than an employee. He stood behind the till giving everyone dirty looks—honestly, I didn’t even realise he worked there until he stepped up to serve.
I found my own size without help and went to the till, where this same man served me. He didn’t greet me—I had to say “hi” first. He processed the payment, asked if I needed anything else, to which I replied no thank you. He then said thank you and handed me my receipt.
I stood there for a moment, expecting to be offered a bag, which is common courtesy in most shops. Since he didn’t offer one, I asked, “Can I get a bag, please?” That’s when the attitude started. He snapped, “I asked if there’s anything else,” implying that my request was unreasonable. I responded that I didn’t think asking for a bag fell under that question. He then remarked, “Most people bring their own bag,” to which I replied, “And most people buy bags—offering them is part of customer service.”
Instead of handling the situation with professionalism, he slammed my change down on the counter—right in front of my young child, with two other customers watching. Disgusting behaviour, and completely unacceptable.
As a business owner myself, I’m genuinely shocked someone like this was hired. Customer service is the face of your business, and this man clearly doesn’t want to be there, let alone treat customers with basic respect. Meanwhile, there are so many people out there who are desperate to work and would do a far better job.
If management cares at all, I suggest you review your CCTV footage @ around 16:00pm. The proof is all there.

Sara making the time, while stocking the shelves, to find the 'other' shoes for the boxes. She was really fun and helpful. My husband found the perfect shoes which we bought - Shop located @ 1a Newbury Retail Park RG14 7HU

Excellent customer service Sarah and Ryan went out of there way to find the right shoes for my feet, very polite and friendly, absolutely brilliant service, and explained to me I can walk up down inside for a few weeks to get used to the shoes and if I dont get on with them I can bring them back, because my normal shoes I can't get in my size

Terrible service. Sent the wrong size shoe. They obviously don’t care about their customers. Don’t bother wasting your time with this company.
