The site has been sold and the forums…

The site has been sold and the forums are gone And the chat's been gone for years. I desperately miss the people I knew back in 2012 when I was in the chat everyday

But between the way the internet in general changed and the poor management It eventually went away I imagine costs to run the site probably played a part too

Depression room has evil mods Tempest & Sunlily92, and increases depression

Depression room has evil mods, Sunlily92 and Tempest, and increases depression
5/28/2023
I chatted there for almost a year using my registered nickname DarkPhoenix, and got many advices about my depression. First I was banned in early May by the mod Sunlily92 and was told to contact to Depression Understood. I told and they emailed me on May 15, welcoming me back to site. During the waiting time the mod Tempest blocked me for no reason again. I barely logged in since May 15 until May 27 and on May 27, I was banned again by Tempest (having been welcomed by DU Moderation) for bad behavior. I did not do anything. I have barely written since I was welcomed. The site blames people for no reason and increases depression. Won't recommend to anyone because of the mods.

Unstable Owner

The members there are great, but the ownership/ administration/ moderation can make the site unusable.

There are so many rules that you can't keep track of all of them. The owner is trying to make money from the site, which is unfortunate for a mental health site. I don't think it was ever a for-profit enterprise until she took over. There are only a few posts a day....I wonder why.

She wants to be a dictator. She's petty, toxic and vengeful. I won't tell anyone to not join the site, but be aware of these issues before you do. The level of censorship goes well beyond simply trying to protect the members.
