Dexcom, You can do better.

Today I called Dexcom to ask a simple question. I asked the "TECH SUPPORT" guy if I had to uninstall my G6 app from my phone in order to install the new G7 app. He started off on this tangent of useless information regarding my doctor before I repeated my question and asked for an answer just to the specifics of my question. To this he responded with a yes that I would need to uninstall my app. So, I decided to google the question after speaking with the genius from "TECH SUPPORT" and guess what it said? This is right from the google response:
No, you do not need to uninstall the Dexcom G6 app to start using the G7 with your Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump. The pump software update (version 7.7) allows for simultaneous use with both G6 and G7 sensors. You'll simply download the new Dexcom G7 app and start the G7 session on the pump.

Save your money and your frustration

Save your money and your frustration. This device is 40% smaller and 40% worse. I was with dexcom and they transitioned from 6 to 7. At first they were better than freestyle with only a 26% failure right and now they're worse than freestyle with one out of every three just falling off its own adhesive. Oh, the adhesive that sticks to me is still there but the adhesive that sticks to the device just fails and the device falls off repeatedly.

Wouldn't waste a penny on this product

Glad I had a free trial to discover how awful this is. The data is not organised on a logical way. The reports are senseless and as soon as the trial ended I couldn't access any information it had recorded and my password became unrecognised . I am self funding and would not waste a penny on this product. As for technical support that's as rare as hens' teeth .

Please Read ⬇️

I’ve been using the Dexcom G7 since January and I absolutely love it. It’s dependable and make my T1D easier to manage. When it comes to getting a replacement DO NOT SUBMIT AN ONLINE FORM!! Call Dexcom and if they are busy request a call back. You will get your replacement so much faster and if you need to send the defective sensor back they will send a package on how to properly return the sensor and applicator. When it comes to sensor readings there will be times you will need to calibrate it. Some say don’t calibrate but why have the option if you can’t use it?! The first couple of days after starting a new sensor the numbers will be off so calibrate it and periodically check your blood sugar with a manual device. There is nothing wrong with this product other than having patience and with every sensor change my numbers on all devices are spot on.

I started out with a G6

I started out with a G6. It worked fine. When I was told about the G7 and was excited to give it a try. The first year was pretty good a few issues but Dexcom helped. For the last year or so there have been many problems, sensor failures all the time. I am calling Dexcom almost every month to get replacement sensors. This takes too long and I have had the replacements fail also so I call Dexcom again and again. I am sick of it.

Competent but Awful

Completing ideas (sentences) was a struggle all the way through the conversation with the Dexcom rep today. She very obviously did not want to be there and was pretty rude and unpleasant. She did her job in the end but was awful in every other respect.

They have no Respect or Honor

Product is great. Customer service is abysmal, especially when it’s a product failure. It’s like they’ve forgotten that people use these things and need help. I feel sorry if people that don't have a test strip to back them up with the Omnipod 5 doesn't have a signal. i whet with out for over 14 hours. Ominipod people tried to help. Finaly today I got a tec. who fixed issue for now. I told her what happen and she made me feel like she did not care. She did not say it but you could tell by her voice. She made me feel why do you need to talk to a manger. Then she comes back stated he will get back to you in 30 Mins. We will see. I served this country for many years if I did what these people did people would get hurt. They seem to have no Honor. Just a thought 82nd Airborne Rangers Lead the way . My Ranger Creed says. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my Country. I feel this company doesn't have Honor anymore to its patients and will let them fail. Just a thought.

Dexcom = Faulty products, non-existent customer service

I just started my second Dexcom Stelo sensor 2 days ago, and it is reporting an average blood glucose level that is 20-30 points (mg/dL) above the average I recorded with the first Stelo sensor during the two weeks prior to this new sensor! Yikes!

This means one of the following: 1) the new sensor is faulty, 2) the first sensor was faulty, 3) both Dexcom sensors are faulty.

The customer support process doesn't involve any human interaction. Their customer support provides a form to fill out for reporting device issues - it says their team will review it and report back. But as soon as I submitted the form online, I received an automated email telling me the issue was reviewed and they were sending a replacement device. Obviously, this means the review wasn't done by humans and I think it's safe to assume Dexcom receives a lot of complaints about this device.

At this point, I have to assume both Dexcom Stelo sensors I've used so far were faulty.

I don't trust these devices. I don't trust Dexcom.

The absolute worst customer service…

The absolute worst customer service from any company with which I’ve dealt in 60 years. I tried to use their web form but it required dates and dates couldn’t be inserted. I called multiple times and left my number for a callback. Never got a callback. I’m switching to Freestyle. No company could be as bad as this.

Terrible quality

Between the signal loss, the inaccuracy and the sensors failing or terrible quality, it needs to go. My last 2 didn’t even last the full ten days.

Bad batch of One+ Sensors

Bad batch of One+ Sensors. 5 have failed in a row so far from my quarterly sub. Poor response from customer service, as others have said it’s blame patient first. It’s a medical device. It’s faulty, they should be recalling it. They’re refusing a return & replace on 2 from the batch I’ve not opened yet.
In case anyone else experiencing this, it’s lot no 1824275007 I’m having the issue with (March/April 25).
Cancelling & going back to Abbott.

Review of Dexcom G6

I have been using Dexcom G6 for over a year. On the whole, it is a reasonable product. However, it is very expensive. Each sensor is supposed to work for 10 days. I have found that on more occasions that I would like to recall, this has not been the case. Often the sensor fails after 5 or 6 days. As each sensor is $100, $10/day, that means that I lose about $40 each time the sensor fails. Having said that, I have found that, when I contact Dexcom about this, they have sent me a replacement. Do really I am not losing. But I do wish that the R&D department would get their act together and improve the system so that one can get 10 days from a sensor.

I like the system as it alerts me when my blood glucose is high or low. This is very comforting at night when my blood sugar can become low. But I do wish I could rely on the sensors working for 10 days instead of only 6.
