Don't bother with this get the libre!

Had a sensor fail as you sometimes get with sensors lots of blood - the adhesive came away because of the liquid.

Phoned up their customer service and they said it's user error and not a technical fault. OK sure if I put it on my other arm it might not have bled so much.

Anyway put another one on and the readings have been awful, phoned up to try and get a replacement as this is the 2nd in the pack to develop a fault. They said it's not a fault with the product... And wouldn't replace as I had a replacement 'goodwill' in the last 6 months for a faulty sensor (they did say this was faulty because it wasn't reading anything for 8 hours then dipped back in); ironic as this is the same as my last one! Ever!

Anyway, stay clear of this company and don't get anymore from the NHS --Libre's are much better and the consumer service is way better.

I had the Dexcom G7

I had the Dexcom G7, and it was hardly ever accurate. Sometimes off by 20 mg and even more. It reads plasma, not your blood, so it's always off. The canula isn't long enough to read correctly. My husband has the G6 and never has any issues with his readings being that far off. So I switched. I would NOT recommend the G7 at all.

Can't get anyone on the phone

I'm trying to get customer service. The answering system said they would call back in about 45 minutes. I waited 75 minutes and called again. No one answered. I think they went home. They are all too happy to waste my time to convenience themselves

Dexcom G6 Sensor ( 3 Pack) purchased…

Dexcom G6 Sensor ( 3 Pack) purchased the sensor on 25/04/25 and as I began using it I have encountered several issues that have caused significant inconvenience and concern for my health and safety: frequent signal loss, inaccurate readings compared to finger-prick tests and connection issues with the app.
These issues have not only disrupted my diabetes management routine but also created unnecessary anxiety due to unreliable readings. I rely on accurate data to manage my condition effectively, and the product’s failure has affected my confidence in its reliability.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!

I am a dexcom-7 user for almost 2 years. Once in a while I used to get a sensor that looses its signal few times during the 10 days of use. Past three months or so I am getting sensors that fails almost every day as many times as 4 or 5 times. I think Dexcom sensors are bad. Called and replaced a few but the problem continues. I am thinking of discontinue it and go to their competition. Paying copay about $22.00 a sensor. Like to hear if any noticed similar issues.

Dexcom very poor customer care

I have been a dexcom user for several years in the past with no problems. However, my dexcom G6 transmitter just stopped working on 5/22/25. I called technical support and was told that they no longer have one day fed ex delivery. They said it would take 3 days. Today is the 5/29/25 and still haven't received the new transmitter. I also have not received an email with a tracking number.

I have been a diabetic for over 40 years, fortunately with no side effects, but I also have Addison's DX which makes controlling my diabetes very difficult and since I haven't had my cgm,I have had 3 hypoglycemic events where my wife has had to inject me with glucagon.
There quality of care has significantly decreased over the years and it is obvious to me that they didn't care about their customers health. I would be very leary about using dexcom in the future since I'm very concerned about my health and their ability to understand consequences of their LACK of action!

How I wish the G6/G7 were accurate

My wife has been using CGM systems for 25 years. She has been on the Dexcom G6 for about the last 6 years. Having a background in instrumentation and controls, I am appalled by the inaccuracy of the readings she regularly receives from the G6. We have seen such frequent inaccuracy that she still does finger sticks to make all dosing decisions. We dare not use the Basal IQ feature for fear that the system will drive her blood glucose levels the wrong direction due to the error in the readings. We had hoped the G7 might improve the accuracy of the results, but current reviews don’t reflect that. Hopefully, in the future Dexcom or someone will develop a technology that can be trusted.

Customer Service Terrible

I've used the G7 once and it was useless. It was 36 hours before it gave accurate readings. The G6 works way better, but the company's customer service is useless. Two sensors failed within 12 hours of each other, for different reasons. When I called, I was told that the only option was to wait an indeterminate number of days for them to ship me replacements, or to wait 2-3 days for a supervisor to approve overnighting them. So now I'm going to be out $300 to replace them because my insurance won't cover purchases that close together and I can only get sensors in boxes of 3. They told me that they "can't" work with my pharmacy to get me one sooner and said "this ain't Star Trek." So the G6 is great until you have an issue that requires human involvement, and then it will cost you big.

This is a good product as I experienced…

This is a good product as I experienced but the customer services may require some improvements. I was not made aware that glucose meter is required for calibration which is essential at the start though my readings were somewhat identical to Dexcom with one exception when ambulance lady did glucose reading at a time when it was rising fast after hypoglycaemia episode so it was expected not to see a close match.

I’d like to highlight that they have no own arrangements to dispose sensors and rely on other services as a sensor battery is not a usual one. Furthermore, the sharp material which is a needle also requires disposal. For anyone who is not diabetic this is not an easy process and an additional expense.

On the positive note, it was useful to know the glucose variability data and I may do this again but due to Dexcom customer services lack of interest I will go for a different brand instead.

Dexcom G7

My review is for dexcom G7 in hopes they can use this info to improve future sensors. I use mine with my t-slim insulin pump. I can confidently say it has never once given me the correct reading once the 30 minute warm up is finished. For instance telling me I’m 3.1 when I’m 8.2. After some time it’ll tell me to “calibrate in 15 minutes” and when I do it doesn’t register the calibration I put in no matter how many times I put my numbers in. I don’t understand why you have this feature when it does nothing. I’m lucky that by this time (45min- 1h) the reading becomes closer to my actual reading, saying I’m 6.2 when I’m 8.5 and I just let it be and hope for the best.
When the G6 would give you wrong readings you could easily calibrate and move on. On a positive note, when the sensor works, it works well with communicating to the pump.

Overall, I like the extended 12h it gives you and prefer this applicator over the G6, as well as not having to purchase a separate transmitter :)

Been using 2 years & love the G7 vs the G6. G6 adhesive caused rash on stomach. Had two G7 sensors replaced during first few months, received in couple days. No sensor problems for two years. Did like the G6 receiver better as could scroll on graph which can't on G7 receiver or at least haven't figured out how to.

I have placed two calls to the customer support centre to address a sensor failure. I am now one week out and no response from Dexcom. I was using the Freestyle Libre system and wanted to try something different. DO NOT change to Dexcom, this system is less reliable, you must keep a receiver with you at all times. There is NOTHING of value to this system. When I complete the 4 boxes that I have I will be returning to the Freestyle system

They say they guarantee failed sensors but when you do have a failed sensor you’re treated like a criminal. Customer service does not want to help you with a failed sensor and tries everything they can think of to blame it on you.

Bad, horrible producr - RUN AWAY

Bad, inaccurate readings, many times 60 points off accurate. Took 3 successive finger sticks redulting in, "124, 131, & 126" from glucose test strip monitor. Descom 6 showed "187" and five minutes later, read "62." I ate nothing, drank nothing. All night long it maed ridiculous "swings" some plummetting, setting off loud, screaming alarms. All the while the finger stick readings showed little or no change. Dexcom 6 is TRASH - completely ulreliable!

Couldn’t get it to work

Had a free trial and couldn’t get it to pair. The needle had come out the device side rather than my arm. I had to answer a load of questions to get a replacement. They sent a replacement and it also refused to spot. Not been able to use it because can’t get it and I have a very recent iPhone. No wonder they are being discontinued. Back to lingo I go.

I can't recommend the G7 to anyone

I can't recommend the G7 to anyone. I had three sensor failures out of the last set of nine sensors I received. One failure on the previous nine sensors, that is a total of 25% failures rate. The big problem is that the three failures occurred within a two day period when I had only four sensors remaining on my nine sensor of my three month prescription. The pharmacy with not refill until the 90 day period is near completion, so I had to scramble to get Dexcom to send replacement before my last and current sensor expires. The text support person was courteous and friendly but I was given some bogus information. Also the reporting process began to get very intrusive and almost accusatory. I do recommend that everyone have test strips handy to verify that when the G7 tells you are about to go into a low sugar catastrophe, and then you load yourself with sugar to prevent sugar shock only to find out the G7 is telling you under 40 when the actual reading is 175.
