Dreadful customer service

On TWO occasions I was deceived to agree to a contract and they did not follow through with their initial offer. Initially I was extremely apprehensive to agree to a two year deal as I was uncertain of my future at that current residence. The representative assured me they would move my equipment at no additional cost so I agreed. When the time came a year later for me to move, I was informed I would have to pay a fee of nearly $200.00 in addition to paying for more hardware. I was infuriated and threatened to cancel until I spoke with a customer service representative who added multiple credits to my account to reduce my monthly fee to a reasonable rate compensating for the moving fee. I agreed to sign for another two years because of these credits and ANYTIME you add equipment they lock you in for another two years. I am praying the NFL comes to terms with a more honorable company. This is literally my first negative review I have EVER left as Direct TV has disappointed me to that extent. Any time a company makes you agree to a two year agreement, it's probably because their offerings are sub par and in order to retain anyone they have to lock you in. STAY AWAY!

No more sad face paying bills

I paid my cable bill and noticed how much I was paying just to watch a few shows and my sports (which does not include ESPNU in their line up). Ridiculous...was the word I associated with the bill. Went to DirecTV just to see what kind of prices they have and I was instantly connected with someone to chat. Usually I don't and just ignore it but I wanted to hear about the services and offers instead of clicking through everything on the site. The equipment they have blew my mind...current dvr I'm using is probably the first generation and is seriously three times the size of my computer. I basically said sign me up before I heard the price because I liked all the features. Price is half of what I'm currently paying. On top of that my brother-in-law referred me and the knocked off $10 a month....for 10 months! Each!!! I now feel robbed because I could've been paying much less the past year.

Hoped for lots, got loads more!

Signing up was easy. The rep knew what he was talking about and answered all of our questions. Even to the point of asking me to write a few things down so I wouldn't forget them. The rates are really good compared to what we are currently paying. Now we are just looking forward to installation day.

THIS COMPANY STEALS YOUR MONEY WATEVER CC YOU USE IF YOU CANCEL OR OWE MONEY THEY WILL CHARGE WHATEVER CARD YOU HAVE USED ON THERE TO MAKE A PAYMENT.. THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN HORRIBLE SINCE I STARTED 7 MONTHS AGO . I HAD A FAMILY MEMBER HELP ME WITH SOME PAYMENTS AND SINCE I HAVE CXL 2 MONTHS AGO THEY HAD THE NERVE TO TAKE HIS MONEY AWAY THIS WAS MY ACCOUNT NOT HIS ITS SUCH A SHAME THEY HAVE TO STEAL HIS MONEY AN INNOCENT VICTIM IN THIS!!! A customer service rep in AMERICA WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH

VERY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE LAST NIGHT INTERACTING WITH MICKI, A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WHO IS WORKING OUT OF MIAMI....VERY REFRESHING....ESPECIALLY AFTER DEALING WITH TIME WARNER EARLIER IN THE DAY, MY CURRENT VENDOR, THAT ACCIDENTLY ERASED MY DVR FEATURE AFTER THE CONVERSATION...THEN I HAD TO SPEND ANOTHER HOUR ON THE PHONE LATER IN THE EVENING TO RECTIFY THAT PROBLEM...SO I AM DELIGHTED TO BE CHANGING TO DIRECT TV...THANK YOU AND LOOK FORWARD TO INTERACTING WITH YOU ALL....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK....

Wow! I am amazed.

Directtv did not bombard me with lots of extra fees. I was given straight answers. I stuck to my plan of purchase and although Anton offered upgrades he respected my decision and did not pressure me to purchase what I did not want. If you are looking for cable go direct.

very fast for delivery and set up!

I was pleasantly surprised how quickly they came to my home and even came in the house and programmed my remote. This was a great experience and was pleasantly surprised how quickly everything came together. When I called into ask them a question and gave them my order conf # 1221975117, they had every question I had answered. Very informed technician also.

Worst TV Provider Experience EVER!!!

My family subscribed to Direct TV. They did a credit check and the application was approved. Today (04/05/2014) is supposed to be the date of my installation from 8am-12noon. We waited and waited. It was already pass noon and no service technician came. My husband made the call to the customer service at 1-800-519-1823. They told him that his account was reported as fraud. He asked the reason and they told him that the reason is because his SSN was just issued recently. Then, he asked, define recently... They replied by asking, when did you have your SSN? He said, Feb 2012! Is that too recent? Then, they forwarded him to a different hotline number which is 888-466-9635. Then, they cleared his account and told him... do you want to continue to be our customer? My husband said, why do you sound like I am begging Direct TV to give me a TV service? Then, they said the earliest they can do it is Monday (04/07/2014) between 8am to noon. My husband said, we already cancelled our existing TV subscription from a different provider because we thought you are a better company! Do it now or tomorrow! If not, do it monday night. I cant do it on your 8am to 12pm sched. The representative refused and said, they cant make that schedule! They transfered my husband to the first hotline number he dialed. Again, the customer service told my husband, Your account is now cleared. However, it is still under fraudulent accounts. I cannot schedule your installation. Please call the 888 number and ask them to do it for you! My husband asked the customer service for the manager refused to connect him. My husband asked for the cancellation of account since he is already upset. Believe it or not, they asked him to call the 888 number to cancel his account!!!

This is our worst experience in TV subscription.

Satisfied and with minimal effort on my end.

You won't believe how easy it was for me to get DirectStar TV. The sales reps make things so easy for you to understand and they got me the best packages that I can afford. The best part is they set up a time for when you are available so the installer can come by and get you set up. But with everything I got I will be able to go any where in my place and still be able to watch any show! You should come by some time and check it out! Give them a call and find out if you are paying to much through your provider. I guarantee you will be satisfied with DirectStar TV. Have a good night.

Very pleasant experiance .

The person that signed me up for Direct Tv service was like talking to someone I've known for awhile. She was really helpful and explained the services and products so that I could easily understand. These days it was nice to have a pleasant person to deal with.

Direct tv rocks!!

I had terrible service with rcn so i called dish they lied to me n tryed to scam me out my money but when i called direct tv the guy aa totally helpful n got exactly what i wanted i am very satisfied N would recommend direct tv to everyone i know.

Courteous, helpful, good values

Found customer support to be excellent, productline to be top value. DirecTV honors its promotions and provides excellent support. Don't spring for video Internet service without checking with DirecTV before you make your decision.

best customer service a woman could ask for!

From the moment the tech answered the phone it was pleasant. I'm very picky about knowing the exact breakdown of every charge and unlike other companies I have dealt with, the tech was more than happy to accommodate my every request. I can honestly say this was the best customer service I have received in a while, and being that I'm moving out of my current area, I've dealt with a lot lately. Keep up the great work. Whatever training your employees get and the careful selection of those employees works well!
