i am partially pissed

i am partially pissed , i was trying to draw from refrence, discord opened up just to say wait hold on your updating , now the app is open and i keep hearing these dumb notifications. i was once in class. the teacher walked by and without being asked discord opened can you please stop opening i dont care you are being updated and i do not wanna go onto discord every day. last year at my funeral i was lying inside the coffin, until discord went on and i was forced to silence my phone, everyone was shocked and i had to run away in embarrasment, although these experiences werent always the greatest, the app had been reliable, it helped me when my cat went missing, dont worry about it my dog is back now. and it also helped me when i was going to get my first job at the grocery store, i was on a video call with my friends the entire job interview and after every question i went on my phone and asked my chat what to say, at the end of the interview the interviewer told me i was hired, although it was a prank and i got fired and burn the next day it helped me with my next job where i could say i had experience working at a grocery store, at that new job i got fired too by the way. so its a great app with a few minor flaws thats all i have to say. keep it up

Avoid this app.

Like other people this app is not worth your time I’ve been wit discord since 2019 and can’t be asked to delete the account. They have discord servers that aren’t right abusive mods. Rude mods. Owners of spaces not caring.

Created an account

Created an account, verified by email. A day later they log me out, saying I need to verify by phone number too. I don't have one and I don't get why we need to verify on so many different devices. Maybe because they just want to collect as much data as possible and then sell it, like they've done before. I would avoid if I were you.

Don't Use Discord.

Sadly don't this company will improve due to the lack of employee's they think bots are a resolution but just creates unnecessary bans and suspensions, reporting on discord with others can get people banned permanently even if they did nothing. I've spent loads of money on nitro and it's a scam I mean every month you have to pay this large amount and you can't do much without it so I've Paid for a long time and this is what still happens to you even if your a loyal customer.

people on this app are not good people

people on this app are not good people, they are always complaining and arguing and being disrespectful. The Support is really useless when it comes to a response and they are lazy they do not even try. they will never fix their own problems and they will never fix yours. they act like nobody knows and they love to promote violence and adult activities

Discord join leave sound effect are an absolute nightmare!

To the Discord Development & Leadership Team,

I am writing to you today not just as a user, but as someone who has been pushed to the absolute edge of frustration by a feature that is so fundamentally and painfully flawed, I can no longer remain silent. I need to be unequivocally clear: your deliberate decision to deny mobile users the ability to disable basic, intrusive sound effects is not just an oversight; it is a source of profound and unnecessary distress for a huge portion of your community.

Let's talk about the "join" and "leave" sounds in voice channels. That incessant, unavoidable *pling* and *plong* every single time someone enters or exits a conversation. To you, this might be a trivial audio cue, a minor part of the "user experience." To me, and to countless others, it is an auditory torment.

I am not exaggerating. There are deeply personal, serious reasons why the ability to disable these sounds is not a "nice-to-have" feature, but an **absolute necessity**. We are talking about individuals with sensory processing disorders, anxiety, autism, PTSD, and migraine sufferers. For us, these sudden, high-pitched, and repetitive noises are not just annoying—they are triggers. They are jarring, anxiety-inducing, and physically uncomfortable. They shatter focus, escalate stress levels, and turn what should be a comfortable social space into a minefield of auditory assaults.

Every single notification sound forces a choice: either endure the constant, grating interruptions or mute the entire channel, thereby missing important pings and messages. But with voice channel sounds, there is no choice. We are held captive, forced to listen to a disruptive symphony of arrivals and departures, making genuine connection and relaxation utterly impossible.

And the most infuriating part of this entire ordeal? **You already know how to fix it.** The functionality to disable these exact sounds **already exists** on your desktop application. It's a simple toggle. A few clicks, and the problem is solved. The fact that you have had this solution for years on one platform, yet consciously refuse to implement it on mobile, is a slap in the face. It tells your mobile-first users that their comfort, their accessibility needs, and their mental well-being are simply not a priority. It creates a two-tiered system where desktop users are granted control, while mobile users are treated as a captive audience, forced to endure a hostile user experience.

Do you have any idea how much time I have wasted trying to solve this? I have scoured every hidden menu in my phone's settings. I have read endless forum threads and Reddit posts from as far back as 2016, filled with thousands of users begging, pleading for this one simple change. I have even been forced to venture into the world of third-party, modified clients—violating your own Terms of Service—in a desperate attempt to reclaim a sliver of peace. Think about how absurd that is. Your users are risking their account security and stability just to implement a basic accessibility feature that should have been built-in from day one.

Stop ignoring us. Stop marking feedback tickets on this topic as "resolved" when they are not. This is not a niche request from a handful of power users. This is a fundamental accessibility issue. It is a quality-of-life disaster. It is a testament to a design philosophy that prioritizes trivialities over the well-being of its users.

We are tired of waiting. We are tired of being ignored. We are tired of having to fight for a feature that is so obviously necessary.

Give us the toggle. Give us the control. Give us the peace and quiet we have been asking for for nearly a decade. It's not a difficult request. It's the right thing to do.

Sincerely,

An exhausted and deeply disappointed user.

It's an easy chat forum but…

It's an easy chat forum but that's about it if you're experiencing harassment or bullying or being targeted by cyberbullying by a chat forum or server on there reporting them is useless and a waste of time as they will not get banned but you will get banned quite easily by the users that you've reported. there is no human interface or review for any issues or complaints regarding cyberbullying.

I am really disappointed in your…

I am really disappointed in your pre-server name process, it has come to my attention recently that any old head server owner can change your server name and then prevent you from changing it back. This is really concerning and my name has been changed in a server and is causing extreme mental concerns. This must be changed soon, or else...

If you could even open the app...

It's been years since I opened this app last time. The updates were installed really quickly, I have no complaints about that. But if you can't remember your password, the hell begins. You have two options: Send a verification code to your email (but apparently this email doesn't exist ?? o.0 ) or a message to your phone number to reset the password. The message never arrives. Will not use in the future (not that they even seem to want me to log in again, haha)

Account verification

I've been using discord since mid 2022 and it's really fun and resourceful to use, I recently made a new account and after a few days after the account has been made, I get a pop-up telling me to verify my account by verifying my email, even though my account already had registered the email. This means I can't use discord as I wanted to because now I can't even get daily updates about what is happening.

PURE GARBAGE 🗑

PURE GARBAGE 🗑.

Was new to this app and wrote the word KILL...as in you KILL yourself working for flags, etc.
Next thing I got a rip from a mod because I used the "K" word. Was scratching my head thinking of some profanity starting with K.
She opened a ticket and explained rather patiently and calmly.
I of course agreed to the rules and we had a good chuckle in the end.
2 days later my K-word post was REPOSTED BY UNKNOWN USER. And as per usual the bored villagers were up in arms with their pitchforks and out for blood 🙄.
I then tried to defend myself with screenshots noting the date and the UNKNOWN USER, obviously NOT ME.
All the mod had to do was check the date, user and 2day old resolved ticket. But she, of no self worth, wanted to be a Hero and give the masses what they wanted.
So, in front of everyone I got PERMANENTLY BANNED.
And she got the virtual praises 👏 she so desperately needed.
Even though I had PROOF VIA SEVERAL SCREENSHOTS, EVEN CIRCLED THEM FOR THOSE WHO OBVIOUSLY CANT READ SIMPLE ENGLISH.
They were willing to let it go with the provision that I take ALL the blame.
I took the blame for my 1st post since I was unaware of the K word rule.
But I WILL NOT take the blame for SUPERMEGAPEACHY cuz she's too LAZY TO READ THE DATE.
BOTTOM LINE, MODS ABUSE THEIR POWER BECAUSE OF LOW SELF WORTH. AND WILL STICK TOGETHER EVEN IN THE FACE OF PROOF.
APPARENTLY IM NOT "FAMILY FRIENDLY". BUT THE LATE NIGHT "FLIRT" SESSIONS ARE FINE.
My anxiety has gone down ever since deleting this TOXIC app.

Discord on ps

When I play on my ps I join discord to talk to my friends and they are weird about it and want to join private discord servers so I then get moved. When this happens I can’t leave the discord or join a discord and get completely stuck. This then means at this current moment of time I can’t use discord since it’s stuck. Sort your ps discord you dirty pricks.
