After researching various trekking companies from Kathmandu we decided on Discovery World Trekking due to their exceptional review history and immediately understood why their reviews are so good. We booked a 16 day Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake included with the company and from first enquiry to the day of arrival CEO Paul was fantastic; very helpful in organising our trip, any personal changes and keeping in touch with us throughout. We were met at the airport by Manish and Jit, our exceptional guide and porter team and the experience only got better and better from then. Manish was an incredible guide, he made sure we were comfortable at every step, thinking of everything and ensuring everything was a very high standard for us. Jit was wonderful and looked after us and our belongings and the two of them set the very highest standard as a team and made the experience beyond our expectations. They were obviously a cut above the rest when compared with other guides and porters we saw on the trail, they were both very professional and helpful, kind and enthusiastic and it was a privilege to be looked after by the two of them. Paul checked in on a regular basis to make sure everything was going well and even when we encountered some changes due to the monsoon season everybody was fully supportive and accommodating.
A review is not enough to express just how impressed we are with Discovery World Trekking. We will be back to Nepal and wouldn’t consider using any other trekking company.

I recently had the incredible opportunity to embark on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, and I cannot speak highly enough of Discovery Work Trekking. I would like to separately review our guides and porters who accompanied me on this journey. Their expertise, professionalism, and unwavering support made the entire trek an unforgettable experience.

From the moment we set foot on the trail, the guides demonstrated their extensive knowledge of the route, the terrain, and the local culture. Their ability to navigate through challenging sections, provide accurate information about the surroundings, and share fascinating insights about the region greatly enriched the trekking experience. Their guidance ensured that we were always on the right path and aware of any potential risks or obstacles.

Moreover, the guides' warm and friendly nature fostered a strong sense of camaraderie within the group. They effortlessly established a positive and inclusive atmosphere, creating a safe space for everyone. Their presence was not just limited to guiding; they genuinely cared about our well-being, checking in regularly to assess our physical and emotional states. I am overwhelmed thinking about them as I write this as I believe the trip would have been different if we did not have their support!

The porters, too, played an indispensable role throughout the trek. They carried our heavy backpacks and equipment with seemingly boundless energy, always with a smile on their faces (and often dancing with us!). Despite the challenging terrain and unpredictable weather (it rained on us daily), they remained dedicated and reliable, ensuring our belongings were safely transported from one destination to another.

Beyond their physical contributions, both the guides and porters had a profound respect for the environment and the local communities. Their genuine concern for the local communities was evident in their interactions with the villagers, as they promoted cultural exchange and supported local businesses along the way.

My friend and I went for the three pass and EBC trek with DWT and had the most amazing experience. Our guide, Ngima was supportive, quite experienced and very knowledgeable. Besides, all the trekking guidance, he provided us with a lot of insight into the culture and people and he is also an amazing photographer. we got the most beautiful shots thanks to him. Paul was always one phone call away in case we needed any information or additional support.
Everything (food, accommodation etc) was very well organised. The porters were also very reliable and would go an extra mile(sometimes quite literally) to ensure we were comfortable and having the best experience.
I would recommend DWT to anyone who wishes to go to Nepal on such treks or expeditions. Can’t wait to be back in Nepal for more such adventures with DWT!

Our trek was absolutely fantastic! Simbir and the team did an amazing job taking care of us and making it a fun, memorable experience.

I had such a fantastic time in the Manaslu Circuit Trek with Discovery World Trekking. Our team was a lot of fun and super accommodating to the slight changes in the itinerary that we made along the way. The 16 day itinerary that we chose ended up being too long for us. Some of the low elevation days at the beginning are scheduled as half days- which is fine if that’s your speed but it could be done in less time for less of an expense. Also the first day is walking on a jeep road… the buses can drop you off further up which would have been nice to know. Having more of an itemized breakdown of what the cost is from the company would be great so you know exactly what part of the expenses are going to the guide and porter each day along with hotel, meals, and permits but that was never super clear. Overall it was a super incredible trek and recommend this company.

This has been my best trekking experience so far. The attention to detail was remarkable, extending even to the smallest things. From picking us up at the airport with a flower—a simple yet thoughtful gesture—to constantly ensuring our well-being and comfort throughout the trek, they went above and beyond.

The guide never left us, despite our occasional slow pace. They skillfully arranged for my friend's helicopter evacuation in Gokyo when they experienced mountain sickness, handling the situation efficiently. Additionally, they surprised us by celebrating our friend's birthday at the peak of Kala Patthar, creating an unforgettable memory.

Overall, this trekking experience exceeded all expectations. The level of care and consideration provided by the team was exceptional, making it an unforgettable journey.

We did the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Discovery World Trekking & I 10000x over recommend them. I felt so safe, so well taken care of and looked after the entire trip.
From start to finish the guides & porters made sure we were having the best experience we could possibly have. They went above and beyond to make sure we were healthy, happy, and having a good time. We did the Annapurna base came trek, Paul from Discovery world trekking organised everything from being picked up from the airport to being dropped off at the end (even got my jacket back to me when I left it in the car on the way to the airport). Our guide for the trek Chhanda was excellent he took care of everything along the way he was very knowledgeable about Nepal and the mountains, we also had a good laugh along the way! It was a lots of fun. Our porter Hemnath was very energetic and lots of fun the have around, the weather was amazing and the views from Annapurna base camp were truly breathtaking I can’t recommend it highly enough! This was my first time to Nepal, I highly recommend Discovering World Trekking for anyone coming to Nepal! I’ll definitely use them again when I come back.

Did the three passes trek solo with Discovery World Trekking in May and was thoroughly impressed by the professionlism and care shown by the team.

Paul took care of everything pre arrival and answered all questions promptly, he also checked in almost every day during the trek to make sure things were going smoothly and to address any potential concerns.

My guide Ngima and porter Moneyraj were awesome. Ngima is very knowledgable about the region, adapted the route accordingly when we had bad weather the first few days, not to mention great sense of humor and good advice on food & drinks so I didn’t experience any altitude sickness. Moneyraj took extra steps to ensure my safety throughout the trek as sometimes it gets steep and slippery on the passes, even lent me crampons when mine were not fitting properly.

The trek itself was beyond beautiful. Overall, definitely recommend booking any future trekking with them!

I did the Three passes trip with Discovery world trekking and would highly recommend this trip! We walked it clockwise. It’s steep up, but gives you the opportunity to beat the crowd and experience the real Himalaya’s. At first I was pared with an other girl by the agency. She became sick and the company took really good care of her. She had to fly back and I continued on my own. My guide Sujan en Porter Jogat where really friendly, took there job serius and brought a lot of joy. You can tell they love there job and are willing to do everything to provide you the best experience. They even made it possible to change the innitary during te trip, to adapt to your wishes. I would definitely recommend trekking with this company.

Be prepared in general: you have to pay for all the drinks, it’s really cold and hygiene is bad. Accommodations diver in quality.

But the views make it all worth it. Just go!

We had a group of 4 doing thee Manaslu Circuit with the Discovery team. Had a lot of fun. The porters Sure and Rapesh, and guide Hari really looked after us and made sure we were comfortable through the trip. They helped us with translating with the locals and were very patient with us on the trickier parts of the trek.

For those doing the Manaslu trek, there isn’t always wifi or power at every tea house. All the meals are included and if you order Dhal Bhat there’s always 2nd servings included which is more than enough food for most people. Also drinks are not included so make sure you bring cash with you.

Finally, you’ll also need to tip your guide and porters but they were so good to us we were happy to do so.

Thanks Discovery World Trekking for getting us through the Manaslu Circuit. We completed the 12 day package, and completed it one day early. Our guide Hari was very accomodating, helpful and friendly. Our porters Sure and Rupesh were supportive and aided us through the snowy pass even with their heavy loads.
Views and accomodation were great, with varied environments. Would recommend to anyone considering a trek in Nepal!

Annapurna base camp is an absolute must. The Himalayas are a wonder in and of themselves but the trek would not have been the same without our group from Discovery World Trekking. The guides were fantastic and the porters kept us motivated. We laughed and danced and sang and learned so much about the Gurungs and Ruby Valley. The team alone is enough to bring me back again. Which says a lot considering we were nestled among the Himalayas!
Paul was personable and professional and personally answered any questions or concerns I had. Dol was an experienced guide who was kind enough to check in with our entire group regularly even those who struggled. And Durga was the energy and fun that kept me going and brightened my day each day of the trek!

The staff at Discovery World Trekking helped to make my dream of hiking to Everest Base Camp possible. Paul was very communicative before the trip and helped in organizing everything. He made me feel comfortable taking on this trip a young, solo, female traveler. My guide, Rohit, and porter, Zargot, helped to make the trip memorable and fun! Although it took a few days for us to warm up to each other and get past the language barrier (both spoke English, but there was still some difficulty in understanding due to accents), by the end of the trip we were cracking jokes with each other and playing cards together. Rohit anticipated my needs, offering to carry my bag when he saw me struggling due to elevation, and checked in with me multiple times a day, asking how I was feeling and if I was happy with the accommodation and food at the tea houses. If I needed anything I felt comfortable going to Rohit for help. Zargot always greeted me with a big smile on his face while carrying my belongings. Together, Rohit and Zargot advocated for me to have the best available room at the tea house each night. Rohit and Paul were flexible and worked to change my itinerary upon request in the middle of the trip after meeting up with another Discovery World Trekking group who were completing a slightly different trek and deciding to hike together for the majority of the trip. Their guide, Sujan, and porter, Bam, were also top notch! Together, Sujan and Rohit took care of all three of us on the trip, regardless of who was technically their client.

I am glad that I chose to do the Everest High Passes Trek over just going to Everest Base Camp, as some of my favorite views were along the stretches of trail that went over the passes. I also found these sections to be less busy and give me more of that immersive experience in the Himalayas that I was looking for. The size and scale of the mountains that surround you cannot be put into words.

I was trekking to EBC, Gokyo and it was my greatest experience in my life. Discovery World Trekking made my trip unforgettable. I chose the agency because I contacted the boss, Paul, and from day 1 he always answered immediately, professional and kind.
I am really impressed with all the service. Starting with the warm welcome at the airport, the organisation, how the guide (Subaraj) and porter (Dipak) cared about us during the trek, the knowledge of the guide about the Himalaya Mountains and much more. The one thing you really want while trekking in the Himalayas is to have someone to get you to safety when something goes wrong. Paul was that person for us! My trekking buddy unfortunately suffered from high altitude pulmonary edema at 5000m and if it was not for our experienced guide Prem, porter Gornez and Paul, we don’t know what could have happened. Paul managed everything from the helicopter to the ambulance, hospitals and our travel in between. We are truly grateful to his team for making it through.

Although we were not able to complete our trek this time, we will definitely come back again and do it with Paul and the team!
