I did give 5 stars when I bought the car but I was promised a load cover for car and 5 months later still waiting getting told lies and getting fob all the time

sold a dodgy car
Sold a dodgy car that wasnt even road worthy after trading in a perfect car that never skipped a beat on me, after 4 days of ownership the car got stuck in reverse gear and started crunching from the gearbox. required me to turn the car off to get it out of gear, let the garage fix it was fine for 2 weeks then the entire left rear light went off no brake light no reverse light no indicator no reverse camera.
after that it started getting stuck in gear multiple times again in more then one case i had to turn the car off 3-4 times just to get out of a tight street i was in because it would stick itself in gear and move on its own no matter if your foot was to the floor with the clutch pedal, had the vehicle inspected to be told that it failed its inspection badly and the guy advised me to not drive the car so i was without a car for almost 2 months while going through a refund process, the dealership was extremely unhelpful took 2 weeks to get back in touch with the finance company and although the agreement was 1 car payment per 1000 miles they tried saying they wanted 5p per mile after being told no they wouldnt come to an agreement, after finally giving up they then said i did £800 worth of damage to the car including 2 curbed alloys that where already there in the dealership photos i had from purchase incase anything like this happened. tried using photos from january as proof of presale photos for the “damage” i supposedly did to the vehicle but there had been at least 1 owner in the time of january til april before i got the car. got told it would have a fresh MOT and 100 point inspection plus service on pickup, not a single thing was done with the car except a fixed lower grill and a valet.
wouldnt waste your time going here extremely unhelpful scam artists, DO NOT BUY THE CAR DT17 URC from this dealership!!
Big thank you to Jeanette from Driven…
Big thank you to Jeanette from Driven Thornaby. Made the whole process as easy as possible and super friendly service 5 *****
Purchased a Ford Ranger from these
Purchased a Ford Ranger from these. Issued with a new Mot.
Drove home. Horn didn’t work lighting faults. Driven helped to the tune of 250. Unfortunately I’m out of pocket hundreds of pounds and the work to correct issues is not over yet foul mouth rant from owner when I suggested returning the vehicle 30 days into ownership. Zero respect to be fair. Everything done cheaply to get it of the forecourt. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

5 star care and service!
My experience at driven was brilliant thanks to Jeanette. She provided lots of care all attention. We can't thank her enough for supporting us through our recent purchase. She made it really easy for us. Can't recommend this place enough!
Brilliant!
I drove away in a purring, beautiful Alfa Romeo with courteous, friendly and professional help and advice from Ronnie and team at Driven Car Sales, Thornaby.
They were patient and provided meticulous service throughout.
I would surely do business with them again.
Brilliant customer service from Ronnie and Sarah ....
Brilliant customer service from Ronnie and Sarah today when we popped in to purchase a car for my Grandad. Efficient, friendly and professional. Purchase all sorted quickly, brilliant!
Buyer be warned!
I don’t say this lightly, but this has been the worst customer experience of my life.
I purchased a Mercedes GLE from Driven at the end of June that had three faults in 3 months.
Within three weeks of having the vehicle a rear sensor failed in the car, no issue and I had the car fixed locally.
Had the vehicle back a day and the engine light was on again, this time the battery required replacing (the stop start had never worked since I purchased it). Again fixed locally.
The car was due to be fixed on the 14th Sep but on the 13th Sep I have been reversing with my three children in the car and the steering has seized. This was now the third fault in less than three months. I had to call the AA and advised Driven I would be returning the vehicle.
The AA advised the steering rack had snapped and was I aware this was a reconditioned part? Worryingly, what could have happened if I was travelling at speed when it broke.
I spoke to the manager at Driven and advised I would be returning the vehicle on a low loader and would like a full refund, based on the series of faults, amount I had paid and inconvenience caused. I was advised from the start a deduction of 85p a mile would be made, any damage caused and an amount as if I had rented the vehicle from driven. I did not accept this considering the circumstances therefore the matter was referred to Driven’s solicitors to make an offer of a refund.
Any response from driven completely stopped, I was advised the salesman who sold me the vehicle was on holiday and nothing could be done until he returned. Then on his return the lawyer dealing the case went on holiday and again nothing would be happening with the case until he returned. I was repeatedly told it was up to the solicitors how much of a refund I was offered, this was incorrect.
The lawyer eventually returned and I was advised although they sent emails directly to me, I couldn’t speak directly to them.
I was able to speak to a local solicitor who deals with civil issues and advised I should be entitled to my full money back, plus compensation for the inconvenience caused. I advised Driven of my advice and repeatedly said, I didn’t want this and just wanted my money back. I did not want to take it court and this could be resolved quickly.
I was able to eventually have a a semi sensible conversation with Gavin who had to speak to the MD to confirm an offer would be accepted. This was now around six weeks without a vehicle (driven refused to prove a car as I was returning the vehicle).
I agreed to an amount which was my money back less £600 as a deduction from mileage alone. I was unfortunately forced into this position as not having a car was effecting my job and causing huge amounts of stress with three children.
I had to return the spare key to driven with the VC5, no issue and I shook the salesman’s hand and said I was disappointed it had turned out this way. When getting some items out of the returned vehicle one of the other salesman was leaning against my partners car smoking. I asked him if he minded getting off the car and was met with expletives. I’ve walked away before he escalated further. Gavin advised the refund would be transferred within 48 hours but could not be actioned until Tuesday. Thursday morning came, no money. I spoke to a lady from the accounts department who said she wasn’t even aware of the refund and if she had been told about it, it would have been done immediately. The money was eventually transferred at 7pm meaning it could not be transferred to a new dealership (I shouldn’t have trusted them to do it on time). The money was £200 short. I then rang Friday morning and was advised the lady from accounts had gone on holiday and wouldn’t be back till Tuesday and along with the MD (also on holiday) no one could transfer the money. I didn’t accept this and rang again Saturday and was told no one was going to transfer the money. I felt the MD should call me on the Tuesday and now it was appropriate for my £200 to be returned on Tuesday plus an additional figure to cover the shambles of an experience.
Gavin returned my call on Saturday and although he never swore once (nor did I) I was in complete disbelief at his level unprofessionalism and shouting down the phone lies about the previous conversation.
*For full disclosure, I made in the area of 100 calls as 1/10 would be returned so I had to chase up every step. On the call to the lady from finance I described the company as dealing with a bunch of donkeys. I never swore / never said anything personal.
**When I purchased the car I was told the steering had been replaced with a new part.
*** the legislation allows sellers to deduct a price per mileage or damage caused. It does not say they MUST.
I have asked countless times to speak to the MD on the phone and come to an agreement over a ten minute conversation and never received a call or email from him.
The car I bought was handed over to me…
The car I bought was handed over to me with some small but annoying issues . I was told it would be fully checked and rectified before I got it but nothing had been done , so I now have several jobs to get done and as I’m too far away from the garage I will be footing the bill . No a good experience overall
Excellent Customer Service
Bought my Mercedes GLS350 from ` Driven` at the end of July 2023, saw the advert on Autotrader, live in Essex but cars are always cheaper up north, so it was worth the 5 hour drive to Thornaby. My Sales rep was a really friendly lady named `Jeanette`, I had loads of questions which she answered promptly and if she didn’t know she would find out, on the day of pick up I was shown around the car, it was pristine, a real bargain at the price (compared to London prices) while waiting for funds to be cleared I checked their other vehicles on the premises, they were all in pristine condition, no damage repaired vehicles I could see. Funds cleared and had a pleasurable drive back to Essex, really smooth, extremely happy with my purchase. I even took out a 3 year extended warranty from Momentum for around £800, they only cover a vehicle if its 100% mechanically sound and will only cover if purchased from a dealer with their own workshop and MOT testing all of which `Driven` has. I found all the staff at Driven to be very friendly, polite and very helpful and would recommend them 100%. I could end here but I just want to mention that 2 weeks later in Essex my car was stolen, there were about 10 prestige vehicles in my area stolen in the same week. Most car sales don’t want to know you after a sale, but not `Driven` the after sales service was excellent, I called and enquired about my warranty, Jeanette quickly had the cover suspended, Driven then tried to find another GLS350 for me so the cover could be put on the next car, but I had to buy another GLS350 privately in Yorkshire to work, Jeanette then arranged a full refund from Momentum and transferred to my account. If I need to purchase another vehicle in future `Driven` will be my first port of call. Thanks so much for all your help and customer service that exceeds standards.
Should be called Driven to Despair
If your thinking of buying a car from here please don't !!!!
On buying there was an indicator issue with the vehicle i wanted so they agreed to change it and call me back once a new one was in stock, within a few days i had other issues with the car which again they agreed to sort once they called me back in for the indicator. after numerous calls asking for an update on the part i eventually 31 days later and one day after your right to return period !! (Coincidence i don't think so ) they called me back in for the repairs but other than the indicator none of the other repairs were sorted, oh they said they was but within 24hrs the issues returned, random oil light no air-con or stop start amongst others. Its now 3 months later the vehicle has been in there garage for over 6 weeks of this and its still not fixed. And now after picking it up from them and driving home and back to them after the oil light came on when i pulled into my drive, there offer is nearly 2K less than i paid for it.
The owner didn't even have the courage or courtesy to handle my complaint himself instead he sat in an office and sent post it notes in with his minions.
There liars and cheats in my opinion and should be called Driven to Despair.
very poor no after care bought car in…
very poor no after care bought car in December 2022 with in 6 months timing chain had gone and killed engine went back to driven as under guarantee they did not want to no said they would give £500 as good will but that never came took out there extended warranty that only covers for £1000 had to replace engine at cost of £8000 do not buy from these the AA standard means nothing
Sworn at repeatedly by Carl…
I only left 1 star cause leaving none wasn't an option.
Been there today with my 21 year old daughter, who bought a car weeks ago and had trouble from day 2.
Today we were talked too disgusting, Carl repeatedly swore at us, used hand gestures and very intimidating behaviour. They have treat my daughter disgusting after she spent nearly £15,000 on a car. We told him he was arrogant, his reply was yes I am, what are you going to do about it, what a horrible person he is.
Impeccable
Dealt with Jeanette and was absolutely fantastic from first point of contact to sale completion. Can't recommend these people highly enough. Certainly will be in touch when I need another car. Superb service
