—-AVOID COMPLETELY—-

—-AVOID COMPLETELY—-
Bought my Audi A4 in July and had nothing but issues with it. Bought with the purpose of driving 29 miles to work every day on an A road, I have been told it is my fault that there is a DPF fault, which ha caused 3 other faults on the dashboard. This has now caused the car to go into Limp Home mode, restricting use meaning I’m unable to drive anywhere over 40mph. This is the 2nd time there’s been this issue, which occurred a week after it was regenerated by Driven.

Prior to this I had to pay £500 for a new clutch (Driven were nice enough to discount it from £900 to £500 considering I only had the car for 8 weeks before this happened), which they advised wasn’t covered under warranty due to wear and tear (which I can somewhat understand, but not after 8 weeks of ownership).

I’ve been told my driving style is the reason for the DPF fault, despite only really using the car for journeys nearly 60 miles round trip per day, and despite sending in a letter referring to Consumer Rights just over a week ago, I have not had a response from the garage. I really do wish I had read previous reviews before dealing with Driven as it seems as though bad service and Harry Wormwood-esque cars are common. I would advise staying well away.

Don't waste your money

Bought a car in June and straight away had a problem with a wheel which I had to sort as Driven weren't interested, not long after I was told one of the driveshaft had gone, again Driven no use so had to sort myself luckily this was covered by the RAC warranty. Then Bodywork that was meant to have been done before picking the car up hadn't as rust started to appear. Driven agreed to sort this despite two bodyshops telling it's to bad to be fixed, they gave me a courtesy car that was filthy and stunk and just as I got near home broke down, I was sat over 4 hours while waiting for their recovery then when the recovery arrived the driver told me the new courtesy car had no fuel in so he'd have to wait there while I went to get fuel for it in case he had to rescue me in that car.
5 days later my car was ready I drove the 33 Miles to Driven to be greeted with a car that had been bodged more than when it went in, badges missing and the inside absolutely filthy with workshop dust. Driven were aware I had a newborn and a 6yr old even without kids breathing this stuff in wouldn't be acceptable.
I said I was not accepting the car and I wanted it done properly and the car putting back to how it was when it came in (they said I was being picky). I was given another courtesy car which had errors all other dash including no headlights. A week passed and I went to get the car which the bodywork had been done to a better standard but was still dirty inside so I told Driven I would get my own valet done and send them the bill (which they paid). On getting in the car I noticed everything had been reset but thought nothing at the time then I noticed my main screen was funny, heated seats don't work anymore, radio plays up, Sat nav doesn't work and the heating fans. I asked Driven had the cars battery gone flat while they had it for 2 weeks they said no when I asked had the bodyshop had any problems they didn't answer.
I took the car to auto electrian who scanned the car and confirmed faults including more like the gps module and even one the new boot lights Driven fitted was showing as shorted. I contacted driven but they ignored me after several attempts. I then took the car to an RAC warranty garage who again confirmed the faults but said they warranty wouldn't cover it as the car has clearly been jumped or boosted resulting in power surge. Again I contacted Driven who still ignored me. Eventually after stating I will seek legal action I got a message to say send the reports to then via email I did and they said they'd get back to me in 14 days which they haven't. I have now had no choice but start legal action against them to cover the repair costs. So PLEASE don't waste your money or time buying a car from Driven they clearly don't care what they sell you.

**UPDATE**
trying to deny I was a customer is low, I have all receipts from the purchase of the car, dash cam footage of me in the dealership when they had my car and all WhatsApp messages to and from one of the directors.

Absolutely disgraceful stay far far away

On purchase process of my jaguar XF RSport, 63 plate a number of concerns in the forecourt where pointed out.
Alloy wheels where blistered and leather seats where torn. I was told they would sort it out. On collection of vehicle seats had not been touched. However I was informed that they where prepared to sort out the alloy wheels if i came to the party with Half the cost of the refurb costing me a further £150. no mention of seats I eventually repaired them at my own cost.
I have now had the car 8 months and done 12000 miles.
I was sold a warranty with the vehicle being told it will give me peace of mind. OK I replied £400.
Month 1of 8 passanger door won't unlock. Back to driven warrenty claim requested, 3 weeks later door repaired.
Month 2 alloy wheels booking cancelled and told they would contact me when it could be done. Month 3 and 4 travel free motoring.
Month 5 finally jag in for wheel refurb 3 days then jag in limph
mode while overtaking a truck. Back to driven fobbed off and told fuel cap caused ems to shut down engine for safety but has been reset and if it reoccurs bring it back they will investigate further. Month 7 limph mode. Back to Driven
Told fuel pressure sensor faulty. Warrenty claim request Not covered but reset.
Phone call telling me my mot had expired back in July. Left stranded at work unable to drive car incase being caught by police with no mot.
This as you are aware means car being confiscated fined and points on licence.Driven unable to attend to mot immediately booked in for 3 days later.
Unable to get to work due to no vehicle.so sold vehicle with only 8 months MOT not 12 months unknown to me on purchase.arranged vehicle to get MOT at own local garage failed MOT on investigation of previous Mot advisory had not been attended to as have reappeared.
Summary as I appreciate wear and tear, 12000 miles on the tyres fitted on purchase.
(how bad where they) brake pads 3 wheels on metal (how bad where they) coil spring broken, suspension linkages suspect, headlight adjustment again(prev fail)
This latest Mot so far in excess of £1000 and mounting.
They flip the cars without any regard to customer. I'm am a elderly person not a boy racer so it's not driver abuse.
I leave you to make your own minds up
Stay Away.

Cowboy car flippers

Objective points:
Vehicle had damage in multiple areas that was not advertised or ambiguous at best including-
Steering wheel controls inoperative
Bluetooth microphone inoperative
Rear canopy interior light inoperative
Damage to tailgate
No heat from drivers side interior
Rear canopy security bracket broken
Stereo/head unit faulty

Not to mention I discovered blu-tac covering an illuminated engine management light.

On closer inspection of advertisement images I noticed the head unit advertised and the one actually fitted where not the same. Easy to assume an employee, who had allegedly been using the vehicle to transport a go-kart while it was on sale, had took the afore fitted head unit to keep/sell and fitted a substandard one hence the electronic issues.

Benefit of the doubt given; onto the engine management light. Had noticed on ignition switch on that the light did not illuminate as all vehicles should so dug a bit deeper and found a ball of blu-tac stuck to it which they also denied doing.

Onto the solutions: personally dropped the vehicle at a main dealer to have diagnostics done which transpired to be a damaged EGR valve, faulty interior heater matrix, faulty glow plugs and to top that off, on the way to the dealership the tweeter speaker on the drivers door fell off. It became apparent it had been botched in place with some form of glue which hadn’t sufficed.

They took the vehicle back to ‘repair it themselves’ which took the best part of 3 weeks and, in turn, putting me over my 30 day cool off/refund period in line with consumer rights.

Credit due for them covering the £95 diagnostic fee however on return of the vehicle the engine management light returned literally on route home from the handover of the courtesy car they provided free of charge. They also replaced the tweeter speaker with the original damaged one but just by applying more of the glue they tried previously and so I am left with a vehicle I am having to invest my own money in to have rectified to a standard any consumer would expect of a ‘reputable business worth millions’ to quote the person I dealt with.

Generally they are pleasant people to speak to however the work ethic, I believe, is to cut corners and save money where possible by simply flipping cars as quick as possible.

I would avoid this company at all costs due to my opinion of their practises or at least go in knowing your rights as a consumer. That is half the battle.

Recently bought a Ford Smax from Driven Motor Group Teeside and couldn't be happier with the service I recieved. From the moment we walked though the gates we were greeted and shown around the car we wanted to purchase, everything went smoothly, we were given test drives, shown all the cars documentation Inc service history, MOTs etc, we went ahead and purchased the car. We collected it 5 days later, the car was fully valeted, 12 months MOT, new tyres, break pads and discs, the paperwork was there all ready to go, very professional. I am very happy with the service provided by Carl & Jeanette, the whole team are brilliant, couldn't recommend them enough🌟 thank you!

Terrible after sales

I bought my 15 Reg Audi A3 from them 9n 27th November 2020. It was sold with a working Satnav, but arrived without the SD card required. I contacted the dealer and told them. They said they'd send it straight away. I'm still waiting. Multiple broken promises. Terrible communications. Terrible after sales service. They don't care.

Great when buying a car- poor after sales!

Bought a car £13,200 cash.7 weeks later a problem with the clutch occurs we ring the garage to them of the fault with the clutch after explaining that we need the car on the Sunday to drive to Freemans Hospital in Newcastle due to my daughter having to have heart surgery and only having one car between us we were asked to take the car in on the Wednesday. When we took the car to the garage we explained that there was a fault with the clutch causing a really concerning smell. We were strongly advised to not drive the car we left for inspection the following Monday as they were fully booked. We explained again that we needed the car as it is our only car and needed to get to Newcastle hospital. We were told that they could offer us a courtesy car on the Monday if not that Friday. we left the car after being told they would strip the car down and put the warranty through on the vehicle.Monday- I am in Freemans Hospital, my daughter is under anaesthetic having her operation at 11:30am. I rang the garage at that time for an update/position of a courtesy car as I hadn’t heard anything got told they would chase it up and ring me back in 10 minutes. I got no call back. I rang the garage again at 2:30pm to be told the lady dealing with it was elsewhere and would get her to ring me back in another 10minutes. No call back. I ring at 5pm to be told the lady dealing with me had left the office but a voicemail stating there was no courtesy cars available. I had no such voicemail - they will ring tomorrow. Tuesday - no phone call. I ring at 3:30 to speak to the original lady dealing with me - who apologised and stated my call back from yesterday was not passed onto her.I then got told that my car was in the process of being stripped and there was still no courtesy car. I no longer needed a courtesy car as I was left with no choice but to pay to get insured on my mothers car so that we had transport to get me and my daughter from the hospital back home and my other child to school.
Wednesday arrives, the day before lockdown and we get a call to be told that the clutch is not covered on the Warranty -£467 to fix and the fault has occurred due to the way we drive!!Why was the fact that the warranty would not cover the clutch not highlighted when we originally rang the garage explaining it was the clutch? Or when we took the car into the garage explaining it was the clutch?! Which could have saved me having to endure the stress of chasing up a car dealership that had failed to make call backs time and time again whilst we were going through something so critical as my 4 year old was having heart surgery?! Before we had to pay to get insured on another car when we had been promised the use of a courtesy car because the garage understood it was critical for us to have transportation?! We negotiated the fee and the garage offered a ‘good will’ and after further negotiation and a lot of back and forth we managed to get the price we had to pay down from £467 to £250 which we appreciated and then we we’re told our car would be ready Thursday - before they close at 4pm.
Thursday - 2pm nothing. We ring the garage to be told the part has still not arrived and it would be either later or tomorrow. We then get a phone call at 4pm telling us that the part they ordered is the wrong part so it has not been done and will now be getting done tomorrow. At that point we were then finally offered a courtesy car being told if we needed it she would have to get it sorted for us meaning it would still be a bit later until we could collect it. We declined due to the pointlessness. We finally got the call on Friday at 4pm telling us the car would be ready for us to collect at 5pm - now for us to collect the car we need to rely upon lifts to be able to get to the garage causing us to cross bubbles with people not in our household.
This garage has caused an enormous amount of stress to our family during the most crucial time of our lives and their attitude towards the whole situation has been poor.

We bought a car for cash and in the first week we told the garage there was a fault with the car. After numerous e mails, phone calls, and then attempting the fix the car 3 times they have finally agreed to give us some money back. Minus £1000! Saying this is for the value the car has lost while it was with us. Very poor after sales , Very quick to pass the book, and totally shocking attitude. Stay well clear

terrible service

Found a fiesta at the Teesside branch and noticed there was a problem with the clutch upon test drive. Was promised they would sort the clutch out however day before we were going to collect it they said there was no problem with the clutch and they won’t be repairing it (had it confirmed by another mechanic the clutch was about to go). This was being brought as a surprise for our sons 17th which is in 2 days so for 1 a learner driver and then a new driver to potentially drive a car for the clutch to go wasn’t going to be happening. Now we are left with no car for my sons birthday. When I went to get my deposit back they weren’t even bothered, no apology or anything. Will never set foot in the place again!!

Very sorry you feel you have not had an excellent experience when dealing with Driven car sales

We noted your concern about the clutch and had it checked, as promised, with a view to replace if required
No other technician had drove this vehicle just to clarify I might add

We were informed that yes the clutch was slightly heavy but not in need of being replaced

We informed you of this and also offered a guarantee of 12 months to ensure that if anything did happen we would, out of goodwill, replace it

This was unfortunately not an adequate response so we refunded you your deposit without further discussion

Only getting a 1 star as that's the lowest I can give. Ever have I had a car that has caused so much stress.
Bought a Ford focus back in May last year, where after a day the engine malfunction warning came on. After a week at the garage everything was ment to be sorted. All for the shock absorber to snap as they were so rusty. We replace ourselves as was easy to do. After a day of having the car back the engine malfunction light came back on. This car was going back a forth for 3 months when it was ment to be sorted due to the MAF sensor. Well another 6 months later and we have to now fork out for another MAF sensor. Do I believe this was fixed? Do I hell.

We were ment to received the paperwork of all these "fixes" that apparently happened over the 3 months and received nothing.

I will never use this car dealers again.
