STANDARDS AND TRUST
A Partner of this firm, who had been our father's accountant for over 30 years, acted as co-trustee and executor to our father's estate upon his death. As beneficiaries, my sister and i fear that our father's estate is greatly undervalued. We requested asset evidence and documentation throughout administration but the trustee/executors told us we had no rights. `
Post administration, we experienced a situation with this Partner which further raised questions of trust. As further information re the estate came to light after administration, we continued to fight for accountability. We reported to 'regulatory bodies', the police and obtained a probate court order for inventory and account, but still estate asset evidence and other estate documents that we have requested, have been denied/withheld. Even bank account/s that they informed us, but were not showing in the estate accounts, were not evidenced as required by the court order. They could still obtain/provide these for us if they wished to set our minds at ease, demonstrate honour, uphold their positions of Trust and Fiduciary Duty of Care, but it seems they do not wish to do this. This firm, DSG, have 'circled their wagons'; they have not demonstrated ethical, honest standards or appear to expect it from senior people in their firm.
Many place their trust in 'professionals' and believe that there are checks and various 'bodies' in place in ‘the system’ to protect us. This has not been our experience, hence the need to write this review to warn others.
