These are simple battens, and are the same colour and length as the trellis. Perfect for the job and, I thought, very good value for money.

Product details
Shop pressure treated timber battens for garden screens, trellis construction, repairs and custom outdoor timber projects. Their slimmer section makes them suitable for spaced screening, framing and jobs where full-sized rails or boards would be unnecessarily heavy. Timber battens can be used vertically or horizontally to create contemporary slatted screens, support lighter garden structures or replace damaged components in existing trellis and fencing. The spacing between battens can be adjusted to balance privacy, airflow and appearance. Compare the available lengths, sections and treated finishes above. Plan the batten spacing and allow for cuts before ordering so the finished project remains consistent across the full width or height. Need more product guidance? Ordered 11 in total, some were a little warped but still used most of them as only slight parts were warped. Can't really complain at that price
