Scam

Scam, booked a car through these thieves and was informed after i had paid with a debit card that I would need a credit card to cover any excess. I didn't have access to a credit card with my name on it so contacted them to do a named driver change. This incurred an increased cost for the rental and was all arranged by the easycar agent, who informed us everything had been arranged and my original payment would be used as deposit on the new reservation. I then got an email 24hrs later saying the reservation was unconfirmed as payment wasn't received, this was despite the money for the entire rental already having been removed from my account. I contacted customer services and was treated incredibly rudely by them. I was then contacted again to say the change of name would not go ahead and I would lose my money if I attempted to cancel as I was within 48hr window, I kept the original reservation only to be informed when I got to sixt that the reservation had only come on their system and the car requested had not been reserved. Had to rent another car at a considerably higher rate than when I had originally booked. Contacted easycar again and was refused my original payment. Avoid at all cost

Avoid EasyCar and Green Motion

– Misleading, inaccessible and aggressive sales tactics
Booked through EasyCar, thinking I’d collect from Manchester City Centre (Portland Street). Only after paying did I find out the actual pick-up was at Manchester Airport, over a mile away, in a business centre with an underground car park. The listing was deliberately misleading — no clear mention of shuttle bus or airport pickup, just a tiny icon hidden on the page.

When I arrived, Green Motion staff (specifically someone called Riz) tried to aggressively upsell me additional insurance — despite me clearly saying I already had my own cover. He ignored me, added £37.50 of cover anyway, then rushed the signing process. Very pushy tactics — calling me by my first name repeatedly to create a false sense of friendliness. Classic hard sell.

To make matters worse:

No accessibility: just small steps with no handrails, completely unsuitable for disabled or elderly customers

I’m dyslexic, and the misleading booking flow added extra stress. No support or empathy.

EasyCar passed all responsibility to the supplier.

Green Motion showed no accountability, just attitude.

There are pending charges of £50 and £45 on my bank — unexplained and unjustified.

🛑 Avoid EasyCar AND Green Motion completely.
Terrible customer service, accessibility failings, and a setup clearly designed to catch people out and make extra money.

I would strongly advise against booking…

I would strongly advise against booking through Easycars. As others have stated unknown bad actors hide under the platform - especially renting from Auto One (also known as Surprice). Our experience was unacceptable from start to finish and completely lacking in professionalism.

We were charged €70 because our easyjet flight was delayed by just over an hour, even though the company had our flight details in advance. When we picked up the vehicle, it was in a poor state — unclean both inside and out, with rubbish left in the door compartments, and at least 15 visible areas of pre-existing damage, including dents, scuffs, and chipped paint, and more we found which had only 15mins to report myself before taking the car (which they would have charged if not sent photos for these)

Following our car return, Auto One tried to apply a €325 charge for a supposed “light surface scratch.” This was completely contested as:

* Was not visible in any of our return photos
* Only faintly appears in one of Auto One’s photos, taken from a close-up underside angle after we had checked in the car
* From the look of their photo, could easily be removed with a standard wash and polish
* Falls under normal wear and tear in their contract, particularly considering the poor condition the car was in when provided

As the mark was not visible in our photos at all, we cannot be sure it was even caused during our rental, or if it was pre-existing and simply not recorded properly by their team.

To make matters worse, this €325 charge was then applied today without authorisation when home, and Auto One has failed to respond to multiple emails disputing the issue, despite photographic evidence submitted immediately

We are now pursuing the matter through our credit card provider and legal options, and I would warn anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. This was an extremely poor experience, and in our view, their behaviour borders on predatory.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

They make deliberate mistakes on the confirmation of your booking then charge to change or cancel- even five minutes after booking.
Called them twice and the call was diverted from London to Ireland to Cairo.
Absolute crooks.

This company is dishonest

This company is dishonest and took an additional $200 from my credit card, after dropping the car off at airport with a full tank of petrol. They will not challenge the hire company. The company operator obviously lied on the return form. Make sure you witness the return check sheet I would not trust this company or their representatives.

Crooks and liars

Easycar doesn't reimburse me. It has been more than one month now, and they always blamed Rentscape, saying that Rentscape did not forward a confirmation.
Here is the confirmation that Rentscape sent to Easycar on the 4th of November:

Dear partner,

In the subject file: Ref: :340298, Our Ref: FR2194xxxxx, we gave you an answer on 04/11/2024, I attach it to this email.
I hereby confirm that your customer did not receive the car from us, and that we accept the chargeback proposal indicated.
You may therefore proceed with your customer's refund.
I rely on your professionalism in handling this matter.
We look forward to assisting you.

NEVER HIRE A CAR FROM EASYCAR

NEVER HIRE A CAR FROM EASYCAR! I had to travel to England at short notice because I family member was seriously ill, flight was delayed and despite having my flight details, the car company (Drivalia car hire) called it a no show and cancelled my booking but kept all my money!! I was a lone woman stranding outside Manchester Airport at 1am. Took me nearly an hour via online chat to finally get a telephone number to customer service at EasyCar, where they gave the hire company the blame and said I had to wait 5 days to hear more. I sat alone in the airport until 6.30am, when Car Rental Village opened and I could hire a car from Avis (brilliant service, can't give them enough credit for their help and understanding) and get to the airport.
6 working days later I still hadn't heard from EasyCar, don't have my money, tried to ring customer services and just got fobbed off. They will decide within 20 working days if I will get my £180 back, daylight robbery from a completely useless company who don't take responsibility for their part in the contact and who are really good at doing absolutely nothing. Use Avis, they are brilliant!!!!

The rental car version of Ryan Air

DO NOT USE EASYCAR IF YOU CAN POSSIBLY AVOID IT. BOOK DIRECT.
They refused to issue a refund when i was unable to pick up my car despite Europecar being happy to issue a refund on the spot.
Their customer services also have no authority to deal with anything and there is no recourse.

Our experience was absolutely fine

After reading the reviews on trust pilot I was concerned I had made a mistake using this company. We booked a car at Geneva airport and the provider was europcar. We book a hire care at Geneva several times a year. The process was great, we turned up handed over the booking slip and were given an upgrade. No hassle at all. Returning the car was also very easy. Price was the best we have had in a while So based on our experience the whole process was excellent.

Terrible service and no understanding…

Terrible service and no understanding whatsoever. I knew I will be arriving 90 minutes late to check-in desk and I contacted the rental company who demanded the a 100 euros extra to book a new car (more than the price of the booking)
I refused and was told that my booking will be a no-show and no refund will be offered.

I contact easycar thinking that they will clearly see my point and the fact that I contact the company as they advise on the booking well before the booking time but easycar told me they offer no guarantees and they won’t refund me.

This was after a lot of back and forth and empty promises.

Delayed flight and Easycar

I had a booking through Easycar for Munich airport, but my flight arrived more than 7 hours late. It was flight BA952 London - Munich dated February 20th 2022. Once in Munich airport I found the Enterprise-Alamo branch office, where I had my booking CLOSED. It was 23:00hs approx. I tried to call them but there was only an answering machine. So it was Impossible to pick up the car I booked. And it was impossible to contact with Easycar too as they don't have any have a number or other means to comunicate.
I called next morning at the Enterprise-Alamo branch office and they told me that as the booking was through Easycar, Easycar had my money and they can't do much more.

So in summary, I paid Easycar for a service I have never, never received. I made a claim to Easycar and they told me that they are just a broker and send me a copy/paste of its policy.

After a 3 complaints more, finally, Easycar agreed to gave me the money back.

Won't use this company anymore!

Won't use this company anymore!
I booked a car via Easycar for 24 days period which costs £817.23. When I went to the supplier at Liverpool airport I was rejected to pick up because I had no original UK driving license with me at that moment. My driving license was lost and I applied for a new one via DVLA and I was told I could still driving while waiting for the replacement. I had a photo copy of my original driving license with me and I explained my situation and I live in Liverpool and I'll drive locally but the supplier won't accept it. In fact, the waiting time for the new replacement is about 4-6 weeks! What Easycar and the supplier have done means I can't rent any car to drive for 4-6 weeks? That doesn't make any sense! I immediately went to Enterprise Rental Company which provide much better and reasonable service. They accepted my photo copy of the driving license and said if there's any issue with it, they could contact DVLA for confirmation.
Anyway, I accept this ridiculous decision and want my money back. BUT Easycar rejected it. They don't do a refund, not a penny! I am not paying a service they don't even provide!
Please refund my money, It's £817.23!
I opened a case on Easycar website. They closed it because they said it's my fault. What? They were just taking money, nobody came out to help the customer to solve the problem, then no refund because it's customer's fault?? It's illegal to take away all my money, It's £817.23! and I did not even see a CAR!
The supplier rejected my documents and I was refused to pick up. Easycar didn’t even do any customer service and just take my money? It’s unacceptable!

Scam artists!

Booked a hire car via easycar (first time using this broker service) car cost us £825 for 2 weeks. Obviously due to tightened airport security and Covid processes we were delayed in getting to the car rental arrival desk. Because we was late our booking was cancelled!!

In contacting easycar we was told it was our responsibility that we was late and no refund will be issued as we agreed to terms and conditions!

This is utterly disgusting! £850 we paid upfront and never even got to see the car just because we was late due to unforeseen circumstances?! Avoid this broker at all costs, SCAM artists!

Do not use this company!
