DEFINITELY DO NOT RENT HERE ♥️

DEFINITELY DO NOT RENT WITH EASY LETTINGS FOR YOUR STUDENT ACCOMODATION.

• EXTORTIONATE - the rooms are absolutely not worth 725-750 a month (and that’s before you also have to pay for electric) the flats are basically just one big room.

•ELECTRIC PAYMENTS - I was renting a small flat (basically just one big room) somehow I was paying over £80+ for electric, one time it was literally £100 and something. I contacted my electric supplier & easylettings and nobody seemed to know why it was so expensive. Also to mention I basically moved back home and was waiting for my tenancy to end so I wasn’t even in the property for months however so much electric was being used?? Hm, suspicious.

• TOOK FOREVER TO SEND MY DEPOSIT BACK - I moved out around 2-3 weeks before 20th June (end of tenancy day) and received my deposit today 19th August. They took way longer than necessary to give me my deposit, they would email me steps about the deposit retrieval then not respond back to my emails for days. (I will say that they were fair in the amount they gave back though as I was worried about them keeping it all as they were taking so long).

•LATE/NO RESPONSE TO EMAILS - they take forever to even respond to basic emails.

• VIEWINGS - the amount of damn viewings were so annoying, yes I understand they need tenants for the next year but literally multiple times a week you are getting people knocking the door to view your room. There was also a time where there was no notice of this so puts you in an awkward position when they randomly turn up🤷‍♀️

• PRIVACY - They will just enter your room if they need to so doesn’t fully feel like your own place knowing it can just be entered if you’re not in - one time I came back and they were in my room setting up a TV.

•They randomly tried telling me I was gonna be charged £15 for sending a document late to them, however it was never brought up again so are they just banking on people to pay random charges they throw in??

• One of the people called Jess who works there is really rude for absolutely no reason at all✨

Basically you can get better for cheaper elsewhere, save your money and stay clear 🫶

Exploiting students for profit. Shameful agency.

If you scroll back through the reviews from around 6 years ago, you’ll see that a student tragically passed away and even then, people were saying this company still chased money instead of showing basic compassion.

Six years later, I can confirm this company is just as hideous now as it was back then.

Easy Lettings Birmingham is a perfect example of what’s wrong with renting in the UK. It feels like vulnerable students are treated as easy profit rather than people who deserve safe housing and support.

Most of their tenants are students who are renting for the first time, living away from home, and just trying to build a life. Students deserve to feel looked after, respected and safe. Instead, this company seems to take advantage of the fact that many students do not know what is acceptable or how to stand up for themselves in these situations.

Life happens to everyone. Illness, emergencies, family situations and mental health struggles can affect anyone at any time. When you are already dealing with something difficult, the last thing you need is a letting agency making things worse. Sadly, this company showed no humanity at all.

From my experience, communication is poor unless they want something from you. The moment you raise a concern, you are met with rude and aggressive behaviour. There is no accountability and it becomes clear very quickly that they only care about money and keeping their own pockets full.

The way Ayesha spoke to me genuinely shook me up. It was so hostile and disrespectful that it triggered my health problems and left me feeling stressed, unsafe and completely unheard.

Mr Hussain and Ayesha are the face of this company. They come across cold, dismissive and nasty in the way they deal with people. They do not seem to care about wellbeing, safety or basic decency. They only care about taking money and moving on to the next tenant.

I also want to add that when I signed my tenancy contract, Mr Hussain brought up the bad reviews himself and tried to explain them away by saying they were linked to a previous owner and not a reflection of the current company. Unfortunately, based on my experience, that simply is not true. The behaviour and the way tenants are treated has clearly not changed.

If you are a student or a parent reading this, please take this as a genuine warning. Avoid this company at all costs. Dealing with them may cost you your peace.

Avoid!

Honestly, my experience with Easy Lettings Birmingham has been awful. They rarely reply to emails or calls, maintenance issues drag on for ages, and they don’t seem to take any responsibility when things go wrong. I was given misleading information more than once, and the whole process has been frustrating from start to finish. I’d strongly recommend avoiding them if you want a smooth rental experience.

My house mates and I have had an unbelievably poor experience...

My housemates and I have had an unbelievably poor experience with Easy Lettings and our landlord. Not only was the house filthy, but we were also left without hot water, heating, or cooking facilities on numerous occasions. Despite making our grievances VERY clear over email, phone, and in person, we were ignored.
The biggest issue we faced was getting a working oven. When we moved in, we noted it was not working and appeared unsafe. Three months down the line, after numerous complaints, we were still without an oven, and we had to resort to calling the emergency gas board. They condemned the oven as it was leaking gas and was incredibly unsafe. The landlord then sent someone round to fix the issue, who was not certified (Gas Safe). We once again complained, and eventually the landlord sent another gas engineer round who disconnected the oven; however, we are still yet to receive a new working one in its place. We have also had issues with our house keys, which resulted in the lettings agency trying to convince us that we had lost our keys and therefore would have to pay hundreds for a new set when, in actual fact, we had not yet had the chance to pick the keys up.
Repeatedly throughout our awful experience, the lettings agency dismissed our very dangerous problems and failed to support us as per our contract. I would strongly dissuade anyone from signing a house with this company; they are rude and put my housemates and i in physical danger, for which I would like to note we have received no apology!!

Shoddy and unprofessional service

As a landlord, I require a letting agent to publish accurate and up to date information on my property. Unfortunately, I was disappointed and let down by Easy Lettings. I sent them updated photographs of my property and asked for them to advertise the house on their website. Firstly, there were no photos attached to my advert, meaning that I missed out on prospective tenants. Secondly, when they did upload the photos, they were old! I sent them new photos and specifically requested that they were used and this requested was ignored.

I would not recommend any landlord to use Easy Lettings and they are not professional and do not follow the instructions of their customers.
