Praying on the elderly

Praying on the elderly.
Just realised my elderly father has been scammed in the same way.
He has no idea why Easylife have been taking £18.50 a month for almost a year.
I am in discussion with the company.
Disgraceful.
Not so much an Easylife after all.

These reviews speak for themselves

These reviews speak for themselves. My elderly mother placed an order for a piece of furniture from a magazine advertisement for £70. There were then further deductions taken from her bank account for simliar amounts - we have reported this as fraud with her bank, cancelled the debit card, and claiming these unauthorised payments back!!

Scam and theft

I was charged some kind of wellness membership on my credit card. I did not agree to this or even remember the call. Easylife seemingly has my credit card number in its records. I am cancelling the credit card after I get the refund promised. Took me over an hour to sort this out. Don’t usually check my credit card transactions so carefully but will in future. A scam and theft.

Despicable company that pray on the elderly. Keep taking money out of bank account with no permission and say its for some reward scheme that has not been signed up for. Keeps taking money even after complaint and promising to remove data from their system. Fraud people informed

HARRASSMENT RULES AS ALWAYS

About 8 months ago I bought items from easy life despite the promise of "FREE POSTAGE/DELIVERY" I was charged despite spending SEVENTY POUNDS with these cowboys. I was promised a colouring book which I had promised to myandson- none arrived. Very curt response from this company and no refund. Ergo I told them no more catalogues but it ook over FOUR MONTHS for the message to penetrate the deep morrasses of their brains.
Now I have had in the past 2 weeks NINE emails from them which I regard as harrassment. I thought this sofrt of gthing was now illegal but them they seem to regard themselves as being above English Law.

Intererstingly the current owner I understand is south african maybe he is living in the days of white supremacy that were digustingly prevelant at one time in his birth country!!

Hose description not accurate and poor customer service

Ordered a 50ft collapsible hose and had to check when it was coming a few weeks later. I was informed it was out of stock and that it would come in Aug which it did but why didn't they inform me earlier. On using the hose I found it to be very good but not 50ft long and therefore not suitable . Easylife have refused to replace it because I have used it ( how would I know its expanded length until I used it?) I have asked for a refund as its misdescribed I shan't use easy life again and in the meantime have ordered a longer hose ( cheaper) from Amazon which is coming today.

BEWARE!!!!!

BEWARE..Easylife run what can only be called a scam. Targeting the elderly into signing them up to a monthly subscription "rewards club" This costs £70 + £18.50 a month. Your elderly relative will not know what the payments are for and have no recollection of being asked to join or sign up. I have all the information and evidence so happy to stand by this. The number on the easylife catalogue is incorrect so they make it difficult to contact them. Their number is on line. They tried to take an unauthorised £70 from my parents account and then took two lots of £18.50 in monthly subscriptions. My mother has no recollection of signing up to anything. She is old, but not stupid. I contacted them to cancel the subscription and demanded the £37 back. Let's see what happens.

Beware

Second time this company have used my details to take money from my account. This time it was for a subscription to a book club despite saying no to joining the books they sent were not even really type of books a man would want to read. First time round it was to join a motor club.
Avoid buying anything from this company and keep a close eye on your bank statements if you do

This is the second time, scammers

This is the second time they have set up a reward scheme to my card after purchasing something during lockdown for my Nan. Whilst I was waiting for the woman to search my details you could hear in the background advisers talking to customers about unauthorised payments. Avoid this company at all costs!

Beware scam company

I innocently bought my mother a product from catalogue over 18 months ago. The product was fine.
I was telephoned last week informing me I would receive free vouchers and membership of various clubs. I expressly told them I did not wish to pay for anything. I have just received my bank statement and found that they had debited over £100, 2 weeks ago. Do not buy anything from this company as it is clearly a scam to get hold of bank details.

Scumbag firm

Scumbag firm - new customers STAY AWAY.

Just to add to the library of reviews from people with an older relative who has simply tried to purchase something and ended up having their card abused. The target demographic here is going to be the sort of person who doesn't use internet banking and doesn't pay too close attention to their statements, thus not realising that payments are being taken continuously (with no form of receipt or acknowledgement). They will be hiding behind well-buried T&Cs but the reality is that the business model here is to acquire card details through the sales channel and then rinse all those cards for as long as they can. The failure to claim their Trustpilot profile and respond to hundreds of allegations says it all. A class-action is needed against this bunch of waste-of-oxygen filth.

I’d give them zero stars

I’d give them zero stars.
Same as everyone else on here….
My 84 year old Mum has been defrauded to the tune of £500 through multiple unauthorised card transactions. I think she bought something from them once and they had her details.
Got fed up trying to deal with them direct.
Reported this fraud to her bank who have refunded some of it.
Despite fines for their dubious sales tactics they carry on. Bunch of crooks and another word beginning with C.
Absolutely shameful that they can carry on robbing the elderly and vulnerable like this.

Robbing immoral predators

Robbing, confidence tricksters praying on vulnerable people. My recently bereaved father ordered some step ladders and correct payment was taken, the ladders then duly arrived.
However on checking his bank account on 26th June three more payments totalling £234 were taken. On calling them they alleged he had signed up for three different rewards clubs, not true. After some arguing and threats of official intervention they agreed a full refund, we’ll see. All card debits by these awful people who have caused immense distress by their underhand and immoral actions are now blocked.
If you have elderly or vulnerable relatives or friends, please, please warn them of this company.

Deceitful Underhand Scammers

We just happened to be at our 92 year old mums house when a catalogue from Perkx arrived. Mum thought it was junk mail and was going to throw it away. She asked us to open it just to see who they were and what they were about. Apart from the magazine and fliers selling different products (which appeared to be targeted towards 'older' people with mobility issues) there was a letter informing her that because she was a member they were going to deduct a quarterly subscription from her.

She didn't know who they were or even how they had her details to enable them to deduct anything and she had never signed up to anything or given any instructions to do so.

We did some research on the internet and found they were linked to Easylife and we asked her if she had ordered anything from Easylife. She remembered ordering something and returning an item but because it was over 2 years ago she could not remember what it was. Apparently when people ordered anything from Easylife they were offered a free membership to a rewards scheme. They were supposed to make the customer aware that after a certain period they would have to commence subscriptions. She has no knowledge of this. Mum may be 92 but she has all her faculties and does not remember any such conversation.

We told her to check her bank statements just in case anything had been deducted. Mum discovered that they had been deducting £18.50 for over 2 years!! but unfortunately she hadn't been checking her statements and the payments had been processed unnoticed.

Fortunately her bank has been really good with her and between them and the family we will eventually get all her money back and have made sure that no further payments will be pick-pocketed from her account.

It appears that this company has been fined for breaking data protection laws in 2022. Given all the negative reviews this doesn't appear to have deterred them.

This company is a disgrace

This company is a disgrace. My mother ordered a £10 cusion which then turned into a £70 per month subscription for gardening club.
She never received anything for this money no magazine or products and had no idea she was signed up to anything.
Being elderly she doesn't know how to use online banking and couldn't understand why her money was low.
Unfortunately she did not tell us for a year and when we did look at online banking for her over a grand had been taken in a year. This was between a monthly subscription as well as the occasional random amounts of £18 being taken out.
Why is this company not being investigated with so many people being taken advantage of. Disgusting company praying on the vulnerable!!!!

Absolute disgrace of a company

Absolute disgrace of a company. My elderly mother made an order for tape in November 22. She was charged for the tape the correct amount. For the following 5 months, £18.50 was deducted fyom her bank account. When I phoned Easylife regarding this, they said my mother had signed up for a 'Lifestyle' magazine, which she definitely had not, she never received any magazine either. Had to phone 3 times to have money refunded. No apology from this company either. Please do not order from this company
