Scam - do not buy from this company!

Scam - do not buy from this company!
My mother in law ordered from this company in November 2021, and they have subsequently taken £136.50 from her account in varying amounts. They tried to tell her that she had signed up for a rewards club which she absolutely did not. On reading online it seems this is not an unusual occurance. Awful and such a stress

NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE THIS COMPANY

NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE THIS COMPANY. BE WARNED. I had to terminate their follow up call offering a 'free' £15 voucher. The agent was worse than time share touts from the 80s. If we had been vulnerable we might not have been able to refuse. He was overly friendly & chatty then flipped when I said no thanks. He thought asking if I was STUPID was a good sales tactic. I had to shout over him not to debit my credit card which he says they still had on file some 6 months since my last purchase!
Update: 30mns after my post here another call from 'rewards' with £70 voucher. I asked what company and she said Easylife.
Update: Here's an official response from EasyLife:

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your review.

Please note that as we do not have the capability of carrying out outbound calls, we contract another company to do this for us and they contact our customers, selling products that we have chosen.

We do not pass payment details to any third party and merely share the minimum amount of data for our partner to make the calls for us.

I can assure you that they do have a quality control team who check the calls to ensure that full compliance by the caller has been undertaken and no hard selling tactics take place because we would not want customers to feel pressured into joining a club they have no intention of using.

Trial packs are only being sent out to customers who provide explicit consent to this offer so by no means is it a scam as the terms and conditions attached to the trial are fully transparent within the call made to our customers and you will make genuine savings.

The overwhelming majority of our customers are entirely satisfied with the products they buy and the service they receive.

We value our customers, and if anyone has any concern they can simply ask to be removed from our marketing contact lists so and they won’t be contacted – this is a legal requirement and we have strict policies in place to adhere to this.

You can contact us via email, help @ easylife . co . uk or call us on 0333 030 0777.

To contact the promotions team please email promotions @ cs-support . co . uk to request a cancellation and refund of membership charges.

Kind Regards,
Claire

FRAUDSTERS

My husband recently had a call from this company having purchased an item some considerable time ago from them. He made it clear that he wasn’t signing up to anything but agreed they could send him something in the post to look at. He received nothing through the post but today was contacted by his credit card company to say Easylife had tried to take £70 from the card but luckily they found it suspicious as our card had recently been replaced. I agree with previous comments, these people are fraudsters!!!

Do not buy

This company consistently let me down, did not deliver a refund on a product even though it was delivered directly to their premises in Kent. They continued to consistently lie to me for several months. Fortunately I had paid by credit card who refunded me. Purchase from them at your peril.

Easy life rewards scheme scam

Hey everyone ,
Just a heads up , I have worked for the easy life rewards scheme for one day. We are told to call people up and try to
Give them a complimentary £15 voucher which you will receive in the post , but then if you forget to cancel we will charge you £70 for the year , this is a complete scam because most people forget to cancel and are old and forgetful I quit after one day as this is robbing people blind , we also try to sell a puzzle book for £18 a month from which you will win nothing !!!! They make it out that it’s a free trail and you have 20 days to cancel but this is a complete lie and you will be charged probably before the 20 days.
Its fraud if I had to sum it up , the mangers try push the Agents to try make sales knowing they are taking peoples cash without any proper agreement , avoid at all costs and hang up on anyone calling from this agency these people are well and truly fraudsters.

I purchased some socks directly on the internet which have been perfect paying with my debit card, then without my knowledge or consent they took £80 from my account. I spoke to my bank and they were not able to do anything as the payment was in "pending", so I rang them and finally after 3 or 4 days they returned the payment. Then without my consent again or any phone conversation I had £17.99 taken from
my account, they said they had spoken to me, I beleive on the 7th of January. I told them they were lying and wrong, but again they are going to return my money in a few days, and I have since then e mailed them to remove my personal details from there records, as per the Data Protection Act

Easylife products great but stop the promotions calls

I like and have bough Easylife products but sadly I have been bombarded with calls about promotions etc.I made it clear on several occasions that I did not want calls and phoned the company as well. I still get them. Easylife if you are listening many of us LOVE the products but we do not want invasive calls and really it is putting me off from buying anything else. Please listen.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs. You buy something from them using a credit card and they then pass your bank details onto other companies who will cold call you and try and con you with a promise of a free voucher. They will set up a direct debit for whatever they are selling. In my case a book Club. Alternatively they will try and con you themselves with a reward scheme. I do not understand how they are not prosecuted.

Don't get scammed.

Waiting for a refund for 4x£18:60 they have taken from my elderly mother-in-law's debit card. She bought some over-priced tat from them and was then signed up to a "reward" scheme without her knowledge or agreement. They really are the lowest of the low.

Easylife Rewards Club SCAM

As an existing Easylife customer I was contacted last week about a rewards club. I have received no information through the post about this and no further information as to what this entails, but yesterday I had £59.99 taken from my account. I have not agreed to whatever this rewards club is, but they have already taken money. Beware if you are called on a 03451740091 number, this is obviously a scam, who are Easylife selling their contact details to.

EASYLIFE SCAM

Same here, even got a reponse from Easylife Claire saying they just share telephone details for marketing, thought i ticked no box as usual, but NO explanation how my same credit card data was used for 2 monthly recurring payments of 70 and 10 pounds for a rewards club. Maybe an Easylife employee is selling the data !!!
Anyway credit card co is stopping payment and issuing a new card.
Maybe MSE OR the BBC scam/fraud pgm OR Which should investigate in depth. Based in Leicester like Boohoo factories.

BS...

I have spent all day trying to sort my sister's refund of in total over £500 for a rewards club that she never signed up for. I have only just been made aware of this by going through her bank statements. She is in very poor health to which I am now having to care for her. I have spoken to easylife most of today to be told they will try and backdate a refund for 6 months only.. and if i
She wants the past year's I need to email them which also after spending several hours writing them to email would not send. Frustrated at being past from pillar to post i once again telephoned them to be given a address to write to at a business unit. Has anybody else had this problem. Who could suggest the next step to getting my sister's pension money back.

Avoid at all costs
I would avoid this company at all costs, once you buy something from them you are then bombarded with phone calls from the Reward Club and no matter how much you tell them you are not interested in subscribing to anything, they sign you up without telling you and before you know it they start taking money out of your bank account without you knowing anything about it and without your permission, this is what happened to my husband and we only found out about by chance on the 8th December 2021 as we were checking our accounts, we are currently waiting to be paid back for all the unauthorised payments they have taken off his account, so beware I would seriously advise against ordering anything from Easylife as this is how the reward club which is a part of Easylife gets your bank account details and before you know it they have signed you up to some subscription and take money from your account without your knowledge or permission, so please be warned as it has happened to quite a lot of people, just google it for yourself. We will never trust this company ever again

There appears to be a a common theme running on here, being bombarded with cold calls and unauthorised transactions from your bank accounts. Yes it happened to me not just one but two lots of 70 pounds for some rewards club which I did not agree to. I am currently waiting the obligatory 3 to 4 working days for my refund, however this is after an email and a previous phone call. I will repost when I get a result, however , if not successful the financial ombudsman will be informed.

Eventually got a refund from them, it was a bit worrisome as it took a week to show up on the account.

I have one question

I have one question. Why has this company not been investigated for fraudulent trading? After making a purchase i discovered that they had signed me up to a rewards club without my permission. This only came to light when my bank contacted me about suspicious activities on my account. The bank cancelled my card and is in the process of getting my money back.having read other reviews,it appears that this is S.O.P for easylife.

Fraudulent

I’ve had the same problem with Easylife. I purchased some goods and they sent me vouchers for free food and then I would belong to a club with monthly subscriptions. I immediately sent back the vouchers with written instructions telling Easylife they were NOT authorised to take any money from my bank account.
I received a letter from them saying no future payments would be taken and they apologised. Now TWO months later they have taken £10 from my bank. My bank advise to treat it as fraud.

My easy life story - not a happy one!

*NOTE* - If you are reviewing Easylife, don't just leave one here, leave one on their 'official' Trustpilot account, where they have a four star rating.

My Easylife Story - not a happy one!
Got a call from my 76 year old dad yesterday. He'd had a letter from 'Rewards Club' telling him he was subscribed to a colouring book club, and if he wanted to end the subscription he needed to contact them by the DAY BEFORE the letter was delivered to cancel! Interesting timing that, eh? He checked his bank account and they'd taken £18.50 for a subscription he knew nothing about.

I quickly googled and found that people who have ordered products from Easylife found themselves signed up to and paying for subscriptions they never knowingly agreed to. Indeed, my parents had ordered some xmas presents from Easylife...

I called the number, talked to Kerry. Jugding from her manner, she was not at all surprised to hear what has happened and was very brusque. At this point I didn't know money had already been taken, so I asked her to check whether they'd been charged already. She said she couldn't check that - laughed and said if I had access to your parents bank account I'd be a millionaire. Right Kerry, so if you had access to my elderly parents bank account, you'd take their money? Sounds about right for the Easylife Ethos.

I've asked for an email so that I could ask for a refund and was given rewardsclubs AT therewardsclub.co.uk - who knows if that's even the right one? There seem to be multiple email address, which in itself is a dubious sign. I emailed and asked them to cancel any and all subscriptions and to refund the money. No response so far. I have advised my parents to block or cancel the card because I cannot trust that the subscription is even cancelled, given the underhand tactics employed by this company.

Honestly, read the other Trustpilot reviews - all awful stories. It's heartbreaking. I actually can't believe this can go on. There are some vulnerable elderly people out there being taken for money for 'products' they have no idea about.
There's also a Which article about them and some threads on Money saving expert, too.

I'm so angry about this kind of thing - do we not value our old people anymore? Are they just there to be milked for money they can't afford to lose? After all, if they're ordering from easy life, they're not exactly rolling in it, are they?

I plan to report this company to trading standards and to repost this review one all social media and anywhere else I can find. I feel like going to the local newspapers. if you have had a similar experience I would advise you to do the same. Sadly, their target audience, older people, don't tend to google companies like the younger end do, and are not on twitter etc, which I presume is how this can keep going on.
But look after your parents and grandparents. And DO NOT give easy life your bank details.

****
UPDATE - My dad emailed promotions AT therewardsclub.co.uk and
customerservice AT perxsupport.co.uk
telling them that he had not knowingly authorised a payment or subscribed to anything, and demanding that his subscription be cancelled and refunded. He was refunded within days. So do contact them and insist on a refund. That said, he then did receive ANOTHER brochure from these people a few days ago! But hopefully that is just one that was activated before cancellation and this whole thing won't start up again! (He's blocked them with his bank anyway.)

I ordered several items from Easy Life and was asked to join several of their rewards clubs all at £69.00 per club which I clearly refused, since then I have been bombarded with phone calls about this rewards club and have had money taken from my credit card and a letter telling that rewards club subscription was coming to an end on the 16th of November but they took the money from my account on 12th of November and the letter arrived on the16th but they had already taken the money for a rewards club that I did not sign up for. I have been in touch with my credit card company and they have refunded my money and cancelled my card. the letter said I could cancel but the phone number was not recognised. I will not order from them again
