Misleading car rental cost!!

I reserved a car at Malaga (Spain). during reservation it looked liek all insurance was fully covered with Thrifty car rental at Malaga airport. when picking up teh car at Thrifty I was force to pay additional insurance (>400 euro). This was mandatory. Easy terra only specified that extra local cost would be an additional driver. MISLEADING company!!!!

Avoid at all costs

Booked a rental car through EasyTerra including their “all-covering” insurance.

When I arrived in Italy, the rental company told me that because I did not have an accepted credit card for the deposit, I would have to pay an additional €434 for their insurance in order to collect the car.

The ridiculous part? The insurance I was pressured into buying from the rental company was already covered by the insurance I had purchased through EasyTerra.

I contacted EasyTerra for help and clarification, but they provided no support whatsoever and have not even responded to my email.

EasyTerra's insurance gives customers a false sense of security, only for them to be left dealing with unexpected charges at the rental counter.

Avoid at all costs.

Very disappointing experience with…

Very disappointing experience with EasyTerra.

I specifically booked a car in Tenerife with Full Protection and no excess. At the rental desk, however, we were told we had to pay another €276 for full insurance or we would not get the car.

EasyTerra later refused to reimburse the charge because we signed the rental agreement and did not call their emergency line first.

As a customer, I expect “Full Protection” to provide peace of mind, not result in paying twice for insurance and then being told it is my responsibility to resolve the situation at the rental desk.

After using EasyTerra several times for both business and private rentals, this experience has seriously damaged my trust in them.

Booking cancelled without prior knowledge and not able to pick up a car on the booked date

On the 11th of May 2026 I booked and paid online for a car to picked up on the 10th of July 2026 from Schiphol. I arrived on the 10th of July at the EuropCar desk at Schiphol to pick up the car and when they entered my voucher code in the system I was told the booking had already been cancelled on the 13th of May.

Meanwhile I got no confirmation it has been cancelled and even still 2 days before the pick up date I got a notification that my booking is ready for the 11th of July.

Therefore EuropCar could not give me a car as they had no valid booking on the system. I tried phoning EasyTerra on the office number but due to it being 7pm, there was no answer. I tried the emergency number and got the same out of office voice recording. Thus I couldnt get any assistance in finding a solution to the problem.

I had to make a brand new booking directly with EuropCar and make another payment.

Currently I have been going back and forth on email with EasyTerra for 4 weeks trying to get my refund as I did not get a car from them and want my money back for no service delivered. And all they can tell me it is "under investigation".

DO NOT BOOK WITH EASYTERRA! They are just your classical 3rd party company who have horrible customer service ( With no one on the phone you can talk to) and can't actually help you when you need it.

Rather pay a little extra a book directly with reputable car rental companies.

We booked a car for 2 weeks together…

We booked a car for 2 weeks together with plane flight. We got delayed for 2 hours and arrived after 24.00 hrs. No way we could get in touch. We missed the 2 hour deadline and found closed booth. Got a taxi and got back the next day to pickup . To our surprise they cancelled our prepaid booking and fined us for € 300. So no car, no service and they acted as if this was the most normal thing in the world. What a giant mistake this is and a shame for any company to act like this. Prepaid car and a fine instead of the one we rented.
I hope this kind of companies get banned.

AVOID EasyTerra

AVOID EasyTerra – Terrible Experience

Never book through EasyTerra. What an absolute nightmare.

Due to incorrect information from EasyTerra, I was unable to collect my rental car at Lisbon Airport. They confirmed in writing that I could arrange a replacement rental under the same conditions — but then refused to reimburse the full costs.

Months of emails, evasive responses, and zero accountability for their own mistakes. Never again, and I strongly advise everyone else to avoid them too.

Customer Service, what's that?

I rented a car in Edinburgh. I tried to call 2 days before the start of the rental to adjust the agreement. I tried to reach customer service at least 10 times: no reaction. Emergency telephone number: no reaction. Follow-up on my email: 4 days later. Conlusion; everything goes well as long as it goes well, but if anything changes or there is an emergency, Easyterra unfortunately proves to be an unreliable partner/organisation.

Systemic Scam - Charging Customers Under Ghost Bookings!

Absolute scam! I made a single booking (ET00374537) on June 9th, cancelled it, and received an official cancellation receipt. Behind my back, EasyTerra's broken system generated a completely separate ghost booking number (ET47802326) and stole GBP 28.86 from my card. Now their customer service (Julia) claims it was a 'No-Show' for a car I never ordered! This is illegal data manipulation to steal customer money. I have officially reported them to the Dutch Consumer Authority (ACM) and ECC-Net. Avoid this fraudulent company at all costs!

All-in is not the true story.

All-in is not the true story.
When booking all the pre-requisites are given. 1) You need a credit card on your name. 2) The credit card should be supported by VISA.
When collecting the car, suddenly a VISA credit card is not accepted due to a Polish law, which states that the word credit should be mentioned on the credit card itself. Showing the credit card in the VISA app was not sufficient to convince the Carwitz rental company that this was a valid Visa card. Only option was to pay an additional insurance of 30 EUR a day which could be payed with the same ( rejected credit card ). Also contacting Easyterra was a waste of time. Easyterra: We are only the middleman and cannot support with anything. Don't fall in the trap of the low prices.

Horrible

Booked a car through easyterra for our holliday in Sardinia. On arrival we are told our passports en our drivers licences were not valid ID, only a european ID card would be accepted, otherwise our entire Booking would be canceled, ofcourse NO money back.
Since this was nowhere to be found on our Booking information from easyterra we called them; sorry, in the fine print it is mentioned that local providors can demand ID cards. Even though on the front page they said passports were okay. They mentioned we could send an e-mail, but that probably wouldn’t change anything. Never Booking through them again.

I wish I could give 0 stars but that’s…

I wish I could give 0 stars but that’s not possible so 1 star it is.
I booked through Easy Terra to rent a car on Zakynthos. I chose Easy Terra because they advertised with the possibility to pay with debit card.
I paid online for a full insurance coverage and a young drivers fee.
When I arrived to pick up the car they refused my debit card and told me they only accepted credit cards. I told them I don’t have a credit card and I booked with them because they said I could pay with debit card. I tried to give them my moms credit card but since she wasn’t there with us they refused the card.
I paid €110 before arrival. The down payment would be 300 euros.
When I got there they said I had to pay 180 euros for the full insurance coverage and another 90 euros for the young drivers fee. When I told them I already paid this through Easy Terra they told me that this didn’t count because it wasn’t with them.
They also told me I had to pay 400 euros because I didn’t have a credit card. When I asked if this was the down payment they told me no and that I wouldn’t get this amount back. The down payment would still be 300.
So in total I would have to pay almost €1000 to get the car.
I refused the car because it’s obviously ridiculous and felt fraudulent. I went back to the airport and rented a car through Hertz (great service btw. Would recommend)
When I contacted Easy Terra the employee simply told me that it was my fault and that they would not refund a single cent.
This feels like an absolute ripoff and I can’t even describe how mad I am.
Disgusting company and please don’t book with them. €110 doesn’t seem like much but I’m a 22 year old student and for me it was a financial hit.

My experience with this rental company (Liverpool) has been nothing short of terrible and highly misleading

1. Without any prior communication, they attempted to debit £300 from my account in the middle of the night, two weeks after I had returned home. (The transaction failed due to insufficient funds, not because of their action).

2. A valid credit card was declined on the grounds that the “name was incomplete”, even though this card had previously been used several times without any issues.

3. A highly inappropriate and unacceptable suggestion to register me as a “police officer” in order to receive a discount.

4. As a result, I was effectively forced to take out expensive additional insurance. (£69.17 / €79.84)

5. Subsequently, the same “unacceptable” payment methods (Revolut/virtual card) were actually accepted
for insurance and the deposit → pure inconsistency in their own policy.

6. “Full-to-full” fuel agreement not honoured (car not delivered with a full tank).

7. Unlimited mileage suddenly restricted to 100 miles per day... (or misleading information via email)

8. Unprofessional handling regarding shuttle and vehicle use

9. Shuttle bus arrived well over 10 minutes later than the promised “20 minutes”

The way in which rules are applied selectively and payments are enforced or processed inconsistently does not feel like a coincidence, but like a deliberate business model.

For me, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a car hire company. Not to be recommended.

I called with EasyTerra, but they didn't help and let this all happen like it was a normal day in the office to scam people from The Netherlands.

regarding Damage Claim 5894472 (Booking Number ET95910755 / Voucher Number EU574909054)

EasyTerra appears to be highly efficient when it comes to upselling additional insurance products during the booking process. Unfortunately, the level of service changes significantly once a damage claim is submitted.

In my case regarding Damage Claim 5894472 (Booking Number ET95910755 / Voucher Number EU574909054), the communication and handling process have been disappointingly slow and lacking in urgency. Response times to customer enquiries have been excessively delayed, and there seems to be very limited proactive follow-up once payment-related issues arise.

As a frequent international car rental customer, I find this particularly frustrating. A company selling premium insurance coverage should also demonstrate professionalism, transparency, and timely customer support when a legitimate claim occurs.

Based on this experience, I am unlikely to use EasyTerra again for future vehicle rentals, despite being a regular and high-volume renter.

Bad experience

Bad experience. Credit card rejected because not valid for another 3 months. Not clearly communicated on the first page of the voucher ("What do you need") that this was a requirement, Somewhere hidden in the small prints. Late in the evening and could not rent another car. Frustrating and a once but never again experience.

Car rented from Wheego via EasyTerra. Unfortunately, no support was provided in case of issues with the rental company.

Upon arrival at Warsaw Chopin Airport at Wheego (Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel), the problems started immediately. My liability insurance was dismissed as invalid without any clear justification, and my credit card was rejected simply because it displayed initials instead of full first names, something entirely standard in my country. I have traveled to over 60 countries and rented cars in many of them, and I have never encountered such an issue.
The service provided by Daniel W. was absolutely unacceptable: rude, unprofessional, and completely lacking basic respect, even towards an 80-year-old customer. He was unable to handle straightforward questions and made no effort whatsoever to assist. The only “solution” offered was to purchase additional insurance costing twice the price of the rental itself, which strongly suggests a profit-driven tactic rather than genuine customer service.
What makes this even more absurd is that my debit card (with the same initials and surname) was accepted for payment, but not for the deposit. This inconsistency makes no sense at all. On top of that, I was required to sign a contract on a tiny screen without being able to properly read it; the full document was only sent to me later by email. No explanation, no transparency, this is both unethical and potentially unlawful.
The car was handed over without any instructions or explanation. When we had questions about navigation and the radio, the employee had already disappeared. Another staff member tried to help but was unable to provide any useful assistance.
Avoid Wheego at all costs. This is, without question, the worst car rental experience I have ever had.

never book through EasyTerra

I booked a "worry free" car through easy terra. Arriving at the car rental company, my (well working) credit card was not accepted. As an alterative the car rental company offered me an expensive alternative which I had to pay upfront.
Consulting EasyTerra resulted in de answer: "sorry, we can do nothing for you and you don't get your money back".
I went to a different car rental company, where my credit card was accepted and could get a car for a reasonble price.

Caveat Emptor

Caveat Emptor
We had some issues with the local renting company charging us 200% markup. Unfortuntely EasyTerra was unreachable at that moment. After our vacation we asked EasyTerra to investigate the issues we encountered because we suspected 'foul play'. After sending all the receipts, photo's, bank and creditcard information, they insisted on additional information that mastercard and our bank can not deliver. Our plea to contact the creditcard company themselves was denied. EasyTerra did not investigate.
Risky business using EasyTerra.
