Don't rent a car from Easy Terra during the hollidays

We rented a car from EasyTerra in October, with pick-up scheduled for Christmas Day. Upon arrival, we were informed that all cars booked through intermediaries like EasyTerra had been cancelled. After a very long wait, we were forced to rent another car on the spot at significantly higher cost.

What made this especially frustrating is that there was no prior warning. On peak days with limited availability, it appears to be much safer to book directly with the rental company and pay in advance. Even some customers who had booked directly but had not yet paid also had their reservations cancelled.

We contacted EasyTerra afterward, but the additional costs were not reimbursed, despite the inconvenience and the fact that the cancellation was completely outside our control.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend using intermediaries like EasyTerra during busy travel periods, especially when pick-up is on a holiday.

Worst car rental company ever

Worst car rental company ever! I believe they are run by a bunch of criminals. Car wasnt delivered, can't reach customer service, money was never returned. Filed a case at the policy station. They also operate under the name Auto Europe or Happy Car. Stay away from these bandits!

The Easyterra Worry-Free service is a big scam

The Easyterra Worry-Free service is not worry free at all. They are a bunch of scammers who do everything they can, coming up with new reasons every time, to avoid having to pay the claimed damages.
First they accept that I bring back the car to the renting company at the airport at 6 am at the latest, but there is nobody of the renting company to check the car for any damages. Easyterra did not inform me about that. They refer to there terms of conditions that when there is only a key service, they won't pay back any damages!!! Secondly they asked me to prove the damage was not already on the car at the beginning of the renting period. So it comes down they don't trust their businesspartner, the renting company. After I told them we checked the car for damages, other then was indicated on a form by the renting company, they came up with another reason to avoid paying for the damage. Now I had to prove the damage was not made in the small time frame between 6.00 am (when I brought back the car) and 7.50 when the renting company noticed the damage! When I proved with photo's the damage was on the car before the end of the renting period, I did not hear anything back from them. As said, it's a big scam. Don't rent a car from Easyterra and certainly don't go for the so called worry-free service.

Administration costs never agreed upon

I booked a car via Easyterra in Norway (Hertz). In Norway, toll is automatically added to your bill by means of camera detection on the road. Meaning you get the bill afterwards. So it happened: I got the final calculation the day after I returned the car. Fine. Everything ok. But then another bill came in 2 weeks later, for a toll charge of around 10 euro... added up with 30 euro for "administration costs".
Hence:
1. I never asked to get 2 bills
2. An administration fee of 30 euro? Seriously?
3. No answer to my questions from Hertz Norway (wrote them 3x).
4. Easyterra defends the Hertz' policy.
Conclusion: car hire companies try to rip you off in all possible ways.

Honesty punished, not rewarded – claim refused despite full documentation

I rented a car via EasyTerra (AutoEurope) for my trip to Italy in September 2025 and had an unfortunate accident on the SS16 near Bari. I followed every procedure exactly as instructed by both EasyTerra and Hertz: we called the police multiple times, waited more than 3.5 hours at the scene, documented everything with photos and contact details, and informed Hertz and EasyTerra right away.

The police never arrived (as confirmed by Hertz Italy, who told us that they often do not show up when there are no injuries and vehicles can still drive). Hertz also advised us to leave the scene and assured us that the case would be handled upon return.

Despite all this, EasyTerra has refused to refund the €800 damage deposit because we could not provide a police report or a jointly signed accident form — documents that were simply impossible to obtain under those circumstances.

What makes this worse is that honesty and transparency are effectively punished. If I had fabricated documents or lied about what happened, the claim might have been accepted. Instead, we acted with full integrity, documented every step, and are now being penalised for telling the truth.

After weeks of communication and providing all possible evidence, EasyTerra has chosen to hide behind “policy” instead of showing basic fairness or empathy.

This experience has completely destroyed my trust in EasyTerra’s so-called “Worry-Free” promise. I strongly advise others to think twice before booking with them — especially if you expect fair treatment in case something goes wrong.

We paid for the car(online)

We paid for the car(online)
When we were in the place to collect
the car we were told we Needed a creditcard.
We did not have a creditcard.
We were willing to pay the deposit.
They were not co-operating in any way to find a solution.
Telling us to go negotiate with the car rental service they booked us with.
I did not book with the car rental service.
I booked with easyterra.
So easyterra needed to find a solution.
They refused, therefore not a single plus in rating.
Our €275 now is booked as no-show.

Bad service if something goes wrong.

Previously, we always had a good experience with bookings and the occasionally necessary telephone or email support.
Until our last booking. There was an issue with a booked car that was not available at arrival at the airport. We informed Easyterra. We were asked if we wanted them to put through a formal complaint to the car rental company, after the drop off date. We confirmed. However, they did not do it. Easyterra was not able to explain why and only repeatedly wrote unclear emails saying our complaint had been declined by Easyterra, while the complaint was not sent to the rental company! First they did not respond at all to our emails. Later they did not answer our simple questions, whilst they were not able to find the previous messages from concerning this complaint and asking us for the same booking information that we sent multiple times before! Also our last email has not been answered. They are not reachable by phone (anymore?). We are no happy by this lack of service. Therefor, this was the last time we booked through them.

Warning!!!

Warning: Avoid EasyTerra and ABC Rent in Pula, Croatia – Deceptive Practices!
Rating: 1 star
Review:
On August 16, 2025, I booked a rental car through EasyTerra, a company based in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, with ABC Rent at Pula Airport (reservation number 1024827). Everything was supposedly arranged, including all insurance, for €264.33, paid with my wife’s credit card. What a nightmare! Upon arrival at 12:00 PM, ABC Rent refused to provide the car unless we paid an extra €450, claiming the credit card was in her name. This despite the fact that EasyTerra accepted the booking and payment with that same card without any issue! On top of that, ABC Rent demanded an outrageous €1700 hold on the credit card for “potential damages,” which was never clearly disclosed. The staff was extremely rude and canceled our booking without a valid reason.
We weren’t alone: two other couples faced the exact same issue. One couple paid the €450 extortion, while the other, like us, had to find another rental car elsewhere. This cost us a taxi (€120) and an alternative rental car (€300), totaling €684.33 in damages, plus a wasted vacation day and immense stress. Local sources confirm these shady practices are common with ABC Rent in Pula.
EasyTerra’s response? Absolutely disgraceful. After my detailed complaint on August 23, 2025, they pointed to the fine print and dismissed my issue without an apology or solution. They refused to investigate ABC Rent or take any responsibility, despite pairing us with these scammers. For comparison, when I’ve rented with Sunny Cars in the past, everything was straightforward—no hidden fees, no nonsense about credit cards, and no absurd deposits.
Advice: Never book through EasyTerra or with ABC Rent in Pula! These companies lure you with low prices but hit you with hidden costs and unreasonable demands at the counter. Check every detail and choose a trustworthy provider like Sunny Cars to avoid this nightmare. EasyTerra, based in Leeuwarden, and ABC Rent don’t deserve an ounce of trust!

Never again Easy Terra/Niza cars!

I booked a rental car through Easy Terra, supplied by Niza Cars in Málaga. Very soon after driving away the clutch/gearbox was problematic—it became impossible to shift gears at times, creating a terrifying and very unsafe situation on the Spanish highway. Multiple times, the clutch simply wouldn’t respond; I was in tears and terrified to continue driving. I called Niza , they said to come to them so I did.
When I returned the vehicle trembling and overwhelmed, I hoped for an apology, a swift resolution, or at least a refund. Instead, I was met with complete indifference: Niza Cars dismissed my request for a refund outright and claimed no fault—and provided no care or empathy.
They offered a new car but I was to scared to drive the super busy Spanish roads.

I then reached out to Easy Terra, only to wait over three months for any response. Eventually they replied, stating that they checked with Niza, the car was fine and that I had no entitlement to compensation or refund.
Overall, this experience was deeply traumatic, poorly handled, and unacceptable.
Never again.

Can’t reach them on the emergency…

Can’t reach them on the emergency number. If you have trouble with the company that rents the car, easy terra won’t even pick up the phone in an emergency.

I’m still on vacation, but I hope I won’t be paying for a car I can’t use. We’re on an island where the mechanic won’t come fix it. The company tells me it’s not there problem. And easy terra is nowhere to be found. The company refers to easy terra to claim the extra costs made. They say it will take 8-12 weeks for them to respond when I send them the email.

I don't understand how this club can…

I don't understand how this club can get such a high rating in google. If you arrive later than planned due to an airline error, your entire car rental can be canceled, and that's not clearly stated. The car you paid for is then happily rented to someone else, and you have to pay full price for another one. So don't do it!

Intransparent, hidden costs, better book directly with the rental companies

I booked a car with EasyTerra, upon arrival the rental company told us, there was not enough insurance cover, so we purchased the insurance on top (no clear communication, this would happen, even though we paid the insurance to easyterra already). Now after handing the car back, the final payment to Hertz was again more than 100€ more than what EasyTerra offered us (VAT and so on, why was it not made transparent before?). So in total the rental cost us double than what we assumed originally. Can only recommend to book cars directly with the rental companies. So overall: the deal from ET looked very tempting, but turned out to be very bad.
