I worked with eChinaCareers this year to help me find a job after graduation, and after all the terrible things I’ve heard and seen with so many recruitment agencies in China, I was more than a little surprised by how incredibly professional and helpful they are. When they asked me if I would like to write a review, I was more than happy to because I felt like they really went above and beyond with helping me. Here’s a quick breakdown of my experience, hopefully it’s useful to someone:

I found myself graduating from a Chinese university and about to look for a job here during the aftermath of Covid, which also happened to be a time that included quite a few policy changes that affected teachers in China. Because of the weird timing and my slightly unique situation, it was hard to find much useful information about what it would take to begin working here as a teacher, and after doing a lot of online searching and contacting other agencies I was at a bit of a loss.

A friend recommended eChinaCareers and I got into contact with them. They were more than generous with their time, and were able to answer my many many questions, and the few they couldn’t answer immediately were answered a day or two later after they went back and got into contact with whoever needed to be contacted to find the right info.

They also spent a lot of time with me to figure out which schools would be a good fit for me, and I managed to find a school that is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for.

They also helped with almost every aspect of the paperwork, police clearance check, TEFL course, contacting schools, contracts, changing my visa, following up after I started working etc.

Overall it’s been a great experience working with them, I’d definitely recommend them to anyone thinking about to come to China to teach, or anyone in China already looking to change jobs.
