I booked this garage through the AA as my car was making a rattling noise that needed investigation.
On arrival, my booking apparently couldn't be found. When I mentioned that it was through the AA, I was repeatedly told that nothing could be done by way of any repairs as any authorisations had to go through the AA who would take days to respond, and I should go with the garage directly. Standing in their reception with other customers watching on, I didn't feel like I had much of a choice, and it was all very awkward.
I had booked a diagnostic, not a repair, so no immediate issue with what they were offering. I left the car with them and asked them to call me once they'd checked the car over.
Three hours later, still no call so i returned to the garage to see that the car had been moved. I was told that they'd looked at it, I needed a new front wishbone, and should call them directly the following week to get it booked in. Nothing was put in writing and nobody commented on whether the car was safe to drive in the meantime. I left with the uneasy feeling that as a woman that knows very little about cars, that I was being fobbed off.
I subsequently booked for a second opinion with a different company, who ran various tests and found the culprit was a broken front coil spring (which was handed to me as proof). Had the original garage even bothered to check my car they would have found this, so I am in no doubt that no diagnostic was actually done, and they fully intended to install a wishbone that isn't broken and isn't needed.
I cannot recommend a "service" like this, and had only booked them due to their affiliation with the AA, which I naively assumed meant that they are reputable. They aren't. Avoid.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Called this morning to arrange a mobile tyre fitting. Gave over the specifics of the tyres and the brand I would like (which is all standard information). The fitter turned up with the wrong tyre. After a lengthy back and forth trying to find anyone who would take accountability they informed me that after "listening to the call recording" I did not specify a brand. I requested a copy of the call recording which they are refusing to provide. Awful customer service and they are charging over £180 for a £60 tyre!! Tried to get my deposit back but they refused. I will be disputing this with my bank to see if there is anything I can do! 100% scammers! DO NOT USE!

Avoid this garage at all costs – they are complete frauds. I took my Astra GTC in because of an error saying “AC is off due to high temp.” The mechanic replaced the coolant temp sensor and charged me £135. Over the phone he told me the part was £25, but when I got there he suddenly changed his story to £50. On top of that, he claimed it was 2 hours labour, when in reality this is a 30-minute job at most.

It gets worse – before even resetting the ECU, he phoned me to say my head gasket was blown and tried to quote me £1,200 for repairs, while warning me the car still “might not be fixed.” This was a blatant lie. I reset the ECU myself afterwards and the car runs absolutely fine – no head gasket issue whatsoever.

This mechanic tried to mislead me into scrapping a perfectly good car and paying for unnecessary work. Dishonest, greedy, and unprofessional. Do not trust this garage under any circumstances

When I brought my vehicle in, the manager did not inform me that the printer was not working, nor did they provide any alternative way to show me the alignment results. I was not shown any before-and-after measurements on a screen or given any proof of the work done. This lack of transparency makes it impossible for me to verify whether the alignment was performed correctly.

I am extremely unhappy with this experience and feel that the service fell far below reasonable expectations. As a customer, I expected clear communication and evidence of the work carried out on my vehicle.

Due to this poor service, I cannot recommend Eco Tyre to others and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

The head gasket on my motorhome blew on the M27. The R AC took it to ECO TYRES in Southampton. They RAN my engine without water in the radiator. They quoted me £3000-£4000 for a replacement engine. The incident occurred last August, they delivered it to me in January. How nice, I thought. I took it for an Mot, among numerous faults the engine they put in produces more than 10 times the acceptable emissions. So it is useless. They charged me £4700. I will be taking further action. Do Not Go There.

Had my car for a full weekend because they cut out a seized track rod before checking if the new one fitted. This left me with no vehicle over the weekend and Monday morning costing me wages. Refused to drop the price or make any recompense. Absolute shower of poo with local druggies working for them. Stay away

Have asked multiple times to the company and the van driver to park more considerately outside my house but they refuse to. The van is very big and where the driver parks the van is blocking our view when exiting our driveway making it very difficult to see any incoming traffic. There are plenty of alternatives places to park but the driver parks in this spot to be antagonistic.

I break down on the motorway on my way to airport, I order 2 budget tyres which they charge me £350 , but the problem was that they told me the waiting time it will be 30 to 45 minutes, and they came after 3 hours and half to change my tyres. I called them several times to tell me when they will came and every time they lied to me saying 30 minutes. A disgusting service knowing you are in rush charging you huge money and make to wait hours and nearly to miss my flight. I will never recommend to use this company.

Got 2 front tyres fitted on my car , driving down the road 4 days after fitting the wheels bolts are loose on both wheels and has damaged my wheels ,they also charged for new valves but the old valves are still on the wheels conmen . I complained and they hung the phone up this is a garage I would not trust

I went for the second time for the MOT verification, this time it only took a few minutes. however I still had to pay £15. they have a well-laid plan to get as much money out of the client's pocket as possible. shame...

STAY AWAY FROM ECO TYRES!!! I booked them to put 2 new tyres on in which they cancelled twice on me saying the staff were off sick again. No alternative, just the typical 'gotta cancel mate'. Wasted 2 days off work for these clowns because they're tyre fitting goons had a cold. Bless um. Just a bunched of little boys running around bodging on tyres when they are well enough. Hope they get over their little sniffles. CRAP COMPANY!

what a day light rubbery ,now they work with AA Breakdown Repair service as well ,stay away from ECO TYRES ,THEY BEEN TRAINED TO SCAM YOU ,owner is proper scammer ,deliberately talk about issue which never exist and they want £700 for it,I reported this place to DVSA and they put red flag and they will send some one to check on them ,if any one has issue with MOT on this place Please call DVSA and report them,and for price over charging contact or Report the ECO TYRES to Trading Standards

I booked my car in for a diagnostic on a noise coming from driver front brakes, they made me wait an hour, then some guy put my car up on a ramp had a quick look told me it was the wheel bearing, then tried to tell me I needed 4 new tyres, they were going to charge me 500 pound for a wheel bearing and 4 new tyres.
They charged me 66 pound for a diagnostic, which was a rip off cos the guy didn't even take the wheel off to look.
I said to the receptionist that I'm not paying for 4 new tyres I'll just pay the diagnostic fee, which I feel I shouldn't have paid cos the guy didn't even look at it properly.
I used a different garage and told them I needed a new wheel bearing so they replaced it, but low and behold the noise is still there, so this garage charged me 66 pound diagnostic which wasn't even correct they are a rip off cow boy mechanics.
I have since taken my car to kick fit who told me my 4 tyres are absolutely fine the tread is perfect do not need replacing. So this garage once again had told me the wrong information, I am a women on my own in the garage so they thought they would take advantage and get money out of me.
They should all be ashamed of themselves. Avoid this garage like a plague, they tell you the wrong things but still charge you. It's so wrong. I'm thinking of going to my solicitor and getting them involved. They should not be allowed to do this. Avoid Avoid Avoid

I was stunned when my son's tennis bags were stolen when I dropped my car with Eco Tyre Southampton. The bags were in my car boot before being dropped off with them, and the car keys were handed to them. On picking up the car, the tennis bags were missing. It was an unpleasant experience. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle when using this company.

Dodgy MOT failures. The broke so much on my car trying to replace a couple of top mounts. Then tried to glue the broken pieces back together. It went as bad as it sounds.

I had a slow puncture (nsr), they took the wrong wheel off and told me I needed a new tyre. After when I pointed to the correct wheel, same again could not be repaired, because the mail was at an angle, despite not being in the wall and located in the good zone of the tyre. Was sold an excessively expensive replacement. I asked to keep the unrepairable tyre and took it to another tyre company who repaired it the next day for £20. So my advice is to avoid this outfit like the plague. I shall never go there again and advise anyone else not to go their either. Shameful.

I haven't been very impressed with eco tyres. Our clutch and fly wheel needed to be replaced and the car was undriveable. We managed to get a few quotes all between 1,100 to 1,300. Unfortunately our reliable garage that we normally go to wasn't able to fit us in for a week and a half. So we decided to go with Eco Tyres who had quoted us approximately 950 for the clutch to be replaced and said that it would be around another £350 for the fly wheel. This quote was the higher end, but because they had availability we decided to go with them.

The few pros:
- they were able to pick up our car for a small extra fee
- they were available to do the work relatively promptly (or so we thought).

CONS:
- POOR COMMUNICATION: They picked up our car on Friday and we had no further communication with them unless we contacted them. We called on Saturday and they told us that they needed a part and that should come in on Monday. We called on Monday (again we had had no contact from them) and we were told the work wouldn't be finished and to call again on Tuesday. During this call I asked about if they offered a blue light discount as it had suggested previously that they did on their facebook page (this may have been out of date), the man on the phone said not to worry and we would be able to talk about the payment tomorrow.
- Tuesday - We called to ask if the work was done and they said it was (again we hadn't had a call to say it was done or to come and get it). When we arrived we expected the cost to be around 1,300 (again the higher end of the quotes we had received). Instead the cost was £1,500 plus. My husband explained what we had been quoted - however they stated that that was the price.

I expect that if a cost is going to be higher than originally quoted that this is communicated to the client before the work is done. I would also expect good communication around when the work is likely to be completed by. The reason we chose Eco Tyres was because we wanted a prompt service due to the level of inconvenience we were experiencing without the car. If we had known it would cost as much as it did and would have taken as long as it did we would have waited a couple of days extra for our own garage to be able to do the work. People we trust who are reliable, good communicators and honest with their prices.
