The delivery service is frequently highlighted as fast and efficient, with orders arriving on schedule and well-packaged. PERFECT IN ALL RESPECTS

Received 4 blankets in record time, on schedule as promised, in perfect condition and am so pleased with the quality and specifications "as described." They're beautiful, edges are hemmed, colors are clean and pure, designs exactly as represented. I just recently received them, so I'm unable to attest to their durability or how well they will hold up to cleaning... But they are beautiful!

High quality, beautiful garment, excellent service.

First of all the item is so incredibly beautiful, I am always looking for golden brown natural colors, not sure why they are so hard to find, plus the Indigenous design, I am floored by the quality and beauty of this garment! Also, as soon as I ordered it, it went out for shipping immediately and I received the item from South America to North America within a few days I believe. There is a subtle smell to the garment that seems like a chemical smell, I have it airing out outside and it's lessening as the days progress. I wonder what this might be, I need to be careful re chemicals? Other than this, so wonderful (and thank you for not using toxic laundry detergents with scents that can take 20 washes to get out!)

Thank you so much for your kind words about the quality and design—this means a lot to our artisans. About the scent you noticed: because our garments are made with real wool and minimal processing, a small amount of natural lanolin (a protective wool wax) can remain in the fibers. After shipping, that natural ‘new wool’ aroma can feel stronger, but it usually fades quickly with fresh air. If you’d like to speed it up, a gentle cold hand-wash with a mild, fragrance-free wool wash and flat drying works beautifully.

Exquisite quality

I received exquisitely beautiful and luxuriously soft blankets. Impressive! Also delighted with the easy online transaction and fast international delivery. Highly recommended.

Suggestible.

Bought two ponchos, came (to Europe) in a week without a hiccup. One is Alpaca, the second Lama wool. Both seem well made and pleasant to touch. Each is made by a different technique, the Numambi The weather got warmer recently, so it's difficult to judge how warm they are :). Both socks and gloves that came as a present are of a smaller size. Overall highly suggestible (provided you want a poncho).

Beautifully made and soft

I received my blanket nicely packaged and secured, and it is lovely. So soft and comforting! The colors were a little darker than what showed online, in particular the blue was not as light which I would have preferred, but overall it is beautifully made and well worth the money.

Not alpaca wool! Plastic mix

Not alpaca wool! I spent a lot of money on a blanket and it came smelling HEAVILY of chemicals. I have a lot of experience with alpaca wool and this is NOT what was advertised at all..I purchased this as a Christmas gift and it was NOT CHEAP. This product is mixed with plastics!!! I am very disappointed and upset. The reviews on here do not reflect the quality of the product nor the honesty of the company!

Hi there — I’m really sorry your gift experience felt disappointing. Thank you for telling us so we can fix it.

I’ve checked the item you purchased and it’s our 100% llama wool blanket (not alpaca). It’s hand-woven by our partner artisans in Ecuador and contains no synthetic fibers or acrylic. Llama and alpaca are both camelid fibers, but they feel a bit different: llama is a touch more robust, while baby alpaca is extra silky.

About the smell you noticed: natural animal fibers can carry a distinct scent when they’ve been sealed for a long journey. Wool fibers contain natural oils/waxes (often referred to as lanolin). Llama fiber has very little compared with sheep’s wool, but when any natural oils are concentrated inside a sealed bag, some people perceive the first whiff as sharp or even “gasoline-like.” That’s a normal, temporary odor from the fiber’s natural oils—not plastics or chemical softeners—and it clears quickly with a little care:
• Air it out 24–48 hours in a dry, shaded place.
• Light steam or a cool iron through a pressing cloth helps.
• Optional: a gentle cold-water soak with a wool-safe soap, then lay flat to dry (no fabric softener).

Your trust matters more than any explanation. If the blanket isn’t what you hoped for, we’ll make it right. Please email us here with your order number to info@ecualama.com and we’ll sort everything for you promptly.

We stand behind our artisans and materials, and we want you to feel great about both the quality and the story behind your purchase. Thank you for giving us the chance to make this right.
