EA is one of the worst charging stations

One of the worst charging stations yet. Most of the chargers are not operational and the charging speed doesn't meet the vehicles expectations. What's the point of the monthly membership fee if the chargers are living up to the expectations. Yes the chargers are everywhere and most of them are always down. I don't see Tesla having these problems.

Terrible company - worse

Terrible, I don’t think I have ever been to a location where all the stations are working. They’re always broken..if not broken they’re slow. I have to wait every time I go try to charge. No wonder it was free with the car purchase. It’s a trash company and they need to improve their service. They give free charging to all these companies without expanding! Great business model to leap in people to commit to them! It’s stupid. This makes not want an electric car again after this. Gas is so much faster, pay more but my time is worth more than wasting so much time finding a charger that actually works

ELECTRIFY AMERICA DESERVES NEGATIVE…

ELECTRIFY AMERICA DESERVES NEGATIVE 1000 STARS!!! RELUNCTANTLY HAVE TO CLICK 1 STAR TO LEAVE A REVIEW, UNFORTUNATELY.

Looking to file a Class Action against Electrify America and currently speaking with attorneys.

I had bought two electric cars within 2 day span (two different brands) and 1 came with 30 min/day charging plan and the other came with EA free charging plan up to a certain Kwh. Both had free charging by simply plugging into EA charging stall.

I was charging the cars as instructed by just plugging it in and the EA charging stalls was recognizing the cars accordingly as described. This went on for about a month and all of a sudden I get an email from EA stating my 30 min/day charging plan has been discontinued because I violated their free 30 minute charging terms.

I called them to address this and the first rep I spoke specifically told me my account was in good standing and not to worry because EA's systems have been causing issues with this with many other customers and sending out discontinuation emails.

This same day I went to charge the car and it statrted charging my credit card so I called EA again and then a different rep told me that I violated their free charging terms and told me that I was charging an unauthorized vehicle - a MERCEDES EQB. I told them that I do not own or never have owned or know anyone that owns a Mercedes EQB. This Mercedes situation went on for days and days and finally they got the hint that I didn't own this car after yelling at them via email that I DO NOT OR EVER HAVE OR KNOW ANYONE THAT OWNS A MERCEDES EQB. They discontinued the plan because I was charging a Mercedes EQB.

Then it was esacalated to someone else and he finally ADMITTED THAT THEY MADE A MISTAKE and that it was not a Mercedes but a different car, WHICH was the other brand car I had bought with its own free charging plan with EA.

I did absolutely nothing wrong but the escalation person told me that I was out of luck because I was charging a car that wasn't on the plan but all I was doing was plugging the car in and the EA stall was to recognize the car and charge the plan accordingly which apparently it never did after the initial couple times. Initially it was recognizing the cars correctly.

How was this my fault - the above situation is being understated because I didn't want to exaggerate the situation. There was a lot of other things that happened that EA is not admitting to or willing to see the whole situation correctly.

All I can conclude is that EA does NOT want people to have 30 min free charging because it doesn't make sense for them to punish me for their system inadequacies and discontinuing the plan becaus I supposedly was charging a Mercedes that I don't even own. This is ridiculous!!!

It's been a couple months now and EA still has not reinstated the charging plan. They are falt out ignorring me now. I filed BBB complaint but didn't go anywhere and they basically replied stating that I was charging an unauthorize car (Mercedes) which I don't even own.

Terrible on every front.

Can't add my vehicle to the app. Could not connect to the charging station with my phone's app. Charging stations are incredibly unreliable. Three out of four experiences have been terrible. Prices are expensive but better if you pay $7 a month... I did that and couldn't get any of it to work. Don't waste your time.

Stations always down.

The fast charge Station closest to me has been totally unavailable for the past two weeks. Called support staff 3 times and they are helpless. Tried to escalate the issue with their response indicating there are no people to escalate. No one should use them.

Problems at the same location since day 1, if I had researched it before getting convinced to buy Electric car wouldn’t have considered it. I added 220/240 at my house and it is not cheap, unless you have solar which I’m not getting trapped into that 0 down crap. I got a VW ID4 Pro S AWD thank God a lease only and they tell you free charging for 3 years but at the end a waste of time

Worst customer service

Worst customer service. They clearly use an international call station who never has a manager available. When they work to answer a question, they always say they can’t help because someone higher up needs to do it. It’s a horrible customer service line, they never help resolve any issues

Horrible company, customer service, and charging experience

Horrible app, Horrible charging experiences, Horrible to non-existent customer service (30+ minute wait times to get no help from "customer service") . App rarely works right first time, app says chargers are available that are broken at almost every visit, always broken chargers. Hard to imagine what else Electrify America could do wrong to make a worse customer experience. And they don't allow customer reviews on Google app store. I suspect this is so they can hide their bad reviews.

Just worthless

Just worthless - yesterday charged me $10 for someone else’s charge after the charger didn’t work for me. I ended up having to move to a different station 7 miles away. I wake up this morning and four separate charges of $10, $10, $20, and $50 are pending from

App did not work - poor customer service

The app did not work with my premium offer (free charging). Customer service says it can take 3-5 days for any response to tickets. Customer service reps very hard to understand. They will not escalate a ticket for two weeks.

I have used Electrify America once as a…

I have used Electrify America once as a guest. I wasn’t notified about the $50 authorization fee that was charged up front. When charging was completed, I contacted customer service for clarification on what that fee was and I was told the hold would be lifted within 24-48 hours of charge. I have called customer service a second time because the funds did not come back to my account. It has now been a week and a half and I have called the third time. The phone representative has told me to settle it with my bank instead.
I then asked as to why it’s my bank’s responsibility to release my money when it’s Electrify America was the one that charged me. I got a long answer which translates to “I don’t know” in the end of the call.

This company is simply a scam. I am certain that the $50 hold is to make profit off of potential customers because they are not making enough profit through their products. They are losing customers with this kind of tactic. I will definitely tell people not to use their chargers because reading all their negative reviews is enough evidence that this company is garbage.

Update: I have called my bank and was told that the charge didn’t happen because the statement changed from $50 to $11(the cost of charge). Meaning I have no proof for the authorization fee that the took from my account. This is a false charge that went out of my card and was never returned. I have checked my bank statement everyday just to check for that $50 refund and I’m 100% sure it was charged and never returned.

Good luck having business in the next few months because no one will use your services. They are unprofessional, very misleading, and time consuming! Never again.

I electrify America is awful

I can count on one hand how many times I have been able to pull up to an Electrify America charging station in the one year that I have had my ID4 and NOT have to wait a long time to get access to a charger. Almost 100% of the time, there are multiple chargers out of service. When you finally get to charge, after waiting forever, the majority of times the charger does not charge anywhere close to the advertised 150kW. It’s usually half that at best, resulting in more time being wasted waiting to get the car charged. I don’t understand how inept this company is….and are unable to get a grasp on the situation. There is already a shortage of EA chargers in general (with the ones they have set up) and then to add the fact that half of them are constantly out of service is ridiculous. I regret getting the VW and feel duped about the advertised EA promises

Electrify America could be the death of EV's

If the future of EV's is reliant on Electrify America EV's will fail. When travelling its so frustrating that there is almost always a combination of too many cars waiting along with 1-3 of them not working. The Overseas Customer Support will "sorry" you to death but not solve the problems. Our latest trip from So Cal to Vegas was about as frustrating as it can be. Fortunately at home we don;t need EA to charge our cars or I would sell them. Can't wait for the BMW/Tesla agreement to come together that we can charge with Tesla. I will pay to charge at Tesla vs free with EA

Bad decision

This is one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. In conjunction with Volkswagen, they sold us a bill of goods. They told us that we had unlimited charging for three years, what they didn’t say is that most of their chargers don’t work, and they are not nearly enough of them around. we made a serious error purchasing this particular brand with this charging station.

Reliable system. Reasonable rates

I am traveling across America and have used Electrify America 5 or more times. Their charging speeds are fast, stations are in good repair and they usually have quick effective phone support available.

Suggested improvements:
*The charger numbers should be much larger.
*Connectors should be labeled differently from chargers...
*app instructions could be clearer, telling the person what charger to initiate
*Windshield wiper fluid and trash can would be helpful

Broke my car and refused to pay

I went to charge my car at the Sams in Montgomery Al on my way home for Christmas. When we put the charger in it locked up and my car was unable to work. We towed it to the dealership, and they said that I was the fifth car it had happened to. I was required to pay the bill to fix the car. My parents had to drive from Atlanta to pick up because the dealership closed for the holiday before we could get it fixed. When I filed a complaint, they closed the case three months later because I did not have the session number for the incident, even though I was never told to record it when we called them during the time of the incident. They are horrible.

Brand new station in Pittsburg CA and the speeds here are beyond horrid. Supposedly 350kw chargers but here I sit in an Ioniq 5 running at a max of 75. What should take 10 minutes is lasting half hour. You report it and nothing ever gets resolved.

It is extremely disrespectful for customers to not fix the chargers that are currently unavailable.
It is unacceptable that we need to wait hours and hours making the line to get our cars charged , and then, the chargers are not even working properly.

Electrify America is the worst company ever. The worst decision I have made ever is to go from
Gas to electric.
