Going bankrupt?
My original review was below for when I first received the car. However, only 6 months in and now they want the car back, only 30 days notice and no alternative offered. Need the car for work and now I'm stuck. They didn't know when they're getting more cars, or any cars of any kind. Was told there was no ETA. Sounds like they're closing shop, or restructuring, much like Cazoo did to me earlier this year, almost identical. Pulling in all rentals right now to sell, to raise money. Doesn't help the consumer. Now struggling to find a suitable car.
Terminated contract for no reason
Same issue as most of the other elmodrive customers are facing, i got the same message today 06th November without an alternative provided. Is there an issue with elmodrive similar to Onto...
The vehicle you have on subscription is approaching the maximum age that we allow for vehicles at elmo, therefore we will be removing this vehicle from our fleet. In accordance with this, we will need to conclude your subscription and arrange for the return of the vehicle before 6th December. Per the subscription agreement, we are obliged to provide no less than 30 days notice to terminate a subscription, and this collection date represents the period for which you have paid for subscription services, if you organize a collection date for after this, you will be charged on a per-day basis. We understand that this is an inconvenience and we will waive your collection fee.
Truly Outraged!
Truly Outraged!
Having been with Elmo for 18 months, I would regard myself as being a very loyal customer.
Then this happens!
Email comes through saying:
"Please be aware that we need to arrange the collection of your subscription vehicle. We regularly assess elmo’s fleet in line with a number of factors including the age and mileage of the vehicle. Unfortunately, we will be removing your vehicle from our fleet.”
Have to hand back my vehicle by 23rd November with NO ALTERNATIVE.
What kind of business are you guys running where you yank the vehicle off existing loyal customers and then provide ZERO alternatives.
Outrageous!
Was fab service u til this week- now I will avoid all car subscriptions
Had I written this review a few months ago I would have raved about Elmo, in fact I have recommended this company to many of my friends. however, a year after my subscription I have received notification of those collection- 1 day after my latest DD.
Leaving me 30 days to find a new vehicle.
They have not offered an alternative subscription claiming they are over subscribed - yet they continue to recruit new clients on their site.
AVOID

Avoid this company
As per other reviewers below I have just had the same email from them saying the car needs to go back with no replacement.
Don’t use this company as they will leave you high and dry.
Terminate Contracts For No Reason
2 Months into a 12 month contract this email came through, they would have known the Mileage and Age of the vehicle before providing a contract on the vehicle very bad practice and the company needs avoiding at all costs, judging by the last two reviews it seems other customers are experiencing the same issue

Don't be fooled. Waste of time in EV
Well only been with this company a few months very disappointing to say the least. They terminate your subscription without actually calling you to explain. If they valued their customers they would have the professionalism to phone. Every excuse yet they want to take payments quickly. They don't give you any options. My advice is do not subscribe to this as you will be left without an alternative solution.
Their card for EV charge is pointless you have to sign up to several other providers which is a hassle. Its not worth the stress or risk getting into an EV car subscription. The extra charges occurred shows its not the best way forward.
My experience with ELMO has been…
My experience with ELMO has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their customer service is abysmal, and they seem unwilling to assist their customers. The attitude of their staff, especially Jade and Jessica, is beyond appalling. I've never encountered such unprofessional behaviour from representatives of any company.
I was met with indifference and a complete lack of interest in my concerns. When I encountered issues with my subscription, it was a Herculean task to get any help or support. Jade and Jessica, in particular, displayed a level of rudeness and uncooperativeness that is simply unacceptable in a customer service role.
ELMO has completely disregarded its customers, and I would strongly advise against dealing with them. Their lack of professionalism and disrespectful treatment of customers is inexcusable.
Avoid
This is my 2nd review of this company. My previous one looks like it has been deleted, which was in Oct 2022 regarding delivery being cancelled on the day.
I have had my car for the past year, and unfortunately due to having several unpaid invoices, could not pay the monthly fee. I contacted Elmo to inform them and that I would be looking to arrange funds as soon as I could. This email was sent to them on the 23rd.
On the 24th, i then received an email stating they would be reclaiming the car in 2 days. This surprised me as I considered they were happy to wait, especially as I am a long term customer.
I phoned the company, explained. The customer service advisor said he would go away and ask. Low and behold stated they will be collecting the car.
After looking at companies house, they are in quite a deficit, and probably be looking to liquidate
Shocking really..
Shocking really..
Just got the car in August and was late and now they gave me 30day for them to pick the car up very upset put more stress on people.. won’t even look after you for a new one.. they should look after the people with cars.
Do not bother getting a car from this…
Do not bother getting a car from this company they will leave you high and dry when they want. They have just recently recalled the car I have been in since June 23 and have nothing to replace it with, even though they know i look after a disabled person and the car is very much needed. They gave me 30days to look for another car!! Terrible service!!
If anything goes wrong then beware
If anything goes wrong then beware! I pay the subscription fee, which lets face it is an absolute premium, to have hassle free motoring. All started well but after the car was vandalised 4 months ago the damage has still not been repaired and the Elmo customer service through the process is shocking. Totally ruined the experience through lack of communication and poor processes. I can only take some relief in the fact the damage was cosmetic, had it been mechanical would I have been without a car for 4 months?
They need to improve
First of all… I put a comment last week but it’s been deleted and a few other customers reviews have been deleted… wonder why! Avoid this company at all costs! I had a car for 6 months. I have broke down twice in the electric car, the range would go from 80 to 40 on a 15 mile distance. Rac even confirmed it’s wrong. Plus they are charging per mile you do…!! I was paying £550 a month on a car I have to charge every day. I was late paying as my bank messed up direct debit. Elmo were rude, left an horrendous voicemail message and just bang out of order. I offered to pay £400 there and then and the rest £150 the following week, they were like no, we are taking the car so I said fine if you are going to be so rude. They are nice as pie to begin with but really rude unprofessional team. I don’t recommend, very expensive. Please use these for your very last resort, they act like loan sharks! I don’t trust them.
My experience with Elmo had been…
My experience with Elmo had been overwhelmingly positive until recent events. I had been a loyal customer since before their merger into the Constellation Automotive Group. However, things took a turn for the worse during a recent car delivery. Significant delays and a lack of communication forced me to rearrange my entire day, meetings, and schedules, causing considerable inconvenience. To my surprise, the car arrived while I was in the midst of making these adjustments. It had been suggested that there would be goodwill to compensate for the ordeal, but this never materialized, and my formal complaint was dismissed.
Furthermore, the payment process for the damage to the swapped car was poorly managed. I received an email with a payment link on Wednesday at 11:53, only to receive threats of car collection less than 24 hours later, at 11:00 on Thursday, if payment was not made immediately. This abrupt shift in customer service left me with a sour impression.
It appears that the company's rapid growth, particularly after the merger, may have strained its ability to maintain the exceptional, personable service I had originally come to expect from Elmo. As a result, I'm seriously considering returning my car as soon as possible.

Highly recommend - they made it easy!
Communication and instruction were great. The Elmo made the set up easy and everything happened when it was meant to.

Overall good but couple of things to improve
The car is fine and the process for subscribing online was ok but elmo should bear in mind the constraints people living in central london have in terms of residential parking permits.
The experience with the person delivering the car was not so good. A bit rude and unhelpful.

Customer service very responsive
Customer service very responsive, from organising a 3 pin adaptor to be delivered free of charge straight after delivery of the vehicle, through to resolving a small billing error after the car was returned within a couple of hours of me reporting it (thank you Dale C).
There was some cosmetic damage to the car on return which i wasn't billed for (probably falling outside the acceptable wear and tear boundaries), and Elmo have confirmed no further charges are to be made.
Very positive experience all round - thank you
