I mailed a package from the US to…

I mailed a package from the US to Greece. It arrived in Athens on 4/2/22. This is as far as I can track it. Its just sitting there. ELTA website is down and it can not be tracked. I am wondering are they holding the mail until Elta is back online. There communication is awful. They don’t answer emails or calls.

Welcome to Greece. The real face of Greece is ELTA! Good luck and "κουραγιο"

As everyone else. It is a shame this company still exists. They are not bothered by bad reviews since this is a government organization so their salaries is paid nevertheless! It is the reason Greece is still in this mess and will be for ages until a true bankruptcy occurs (no help from outsiders/ EU). Sending a parcel or a letter with ELTA demands lots of courage for the sender!

PS

Do not expect any help either from the Greek ombudsman for postal services (EETT). Same organizational plan, same principles.

Vital to upgrade web labeling service, now!!

It is totally unacceptable that residents of a whole country can't ship a commercial package abroad, because the web labeling application is down and not working. Second time during a month this is happening, let me add that his time the web labeling app is down for 3 days in a row (19-20-21/3/2022).
Also, according to my opinion, it's about time the web labeling app includes an online payment option. Seems funny that we can create on our own the shipping label, print it and stick it to the package, but still have to wait extremely long queues at the ELTA stores to pay and finalise the transaction.

Hope these problems are solved soon..

Worst service

I sent a birthday card to Greece which for some reason went through customs and was not delivered to the recipient's address but instead to an ELTA centre. When I contacted them, customer service said there was a £2.5 charge that needed to be paid and the recipient had to go there, pay and collect the birthday card. I explained that this was obviously a mistake, as I have sent letters to Greece before and this has never happened. Customer's service suggestion AND an employee of the ELTA centre where the letter was, suggested that it was the Mailman's fault and they could give me his mobile number if I wanted this to be fixed. Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced!

the lowest allowed here. it is truly awful, nobody cares and the answer is 'that is how it is' a package from uk sitting in customs clearance for over a month. delivery from athens to igoumenitsa should not take longer than two days - yet still waiting. their website says item has been picked up for delivery in igoumenitsa to deliver in igoumenitsa. guess what - nothing. never send anything to greece using postal service. pay more and use a courier. altgoether it has been 7 weeks since the parcel arrived in greece and we still do not have it!!!!!!

I have been trying to get a reply from…ELTA

I have been trying to get a reply from customer service by email and telephone about a tracked mail item that has been unloaded at Athens without further progress for 3 weeks.
The landline number given on their website does not exist according to a recorded message.
I have had no reply, ot even automatic acknowledgement, to 3 emails to their contact form.
Totally totally useless. Senior management should be ashamed

Been stuck in customs for three weeks…

Been stuck in customs for three weeks now, I’ve been tracking it. Very frustrating knowing it’s in Greece, but doesn’t seem to be moving at all. I understand that we are in COVID times, but a little note on the tracking section saying that delivery may take longer, than what I’ve been told. I kinda wish I didn’t go with Royal Mail and ELTA now.

Royal Mail say I can claim on the 4th December as a lost parcel, which I wouldn’t want to do unless I know for sure it’s missing, or what’s going on.

I send a package from Norway to Greece...

I send a package from Norway to Greece to my brother, 3 days in Norway and already 11 days in Greece and was waiting to get in the customs. 11 days? OMG. What service is this? All the countries suffer from Covid19 and there is no excuse after one year to have so useless service. I wanna see how long it will take there. Useless post service. To be continued...

Update 19/7/21: They have communicated in Greece and they said to one employee that the package arrived in Greece in 2 days and already now is 17 days and still waiting, he said it needs 3 weeks for customs declaration. And the big lier employee said that in Norway takes 3 weeks too. Really? Have you been to Norway? Have you received a package? It takes 1 week on average and a max of 2 weeks if is a special package. With DHL you get your package immediately with no delay and you get after a week a bill to pay for the customs. Little man, do you feel better by saying lies that others are the same bad as you instead of doing the work you are paid for? Lazy employees!!!

Update 2/8/21: 1 month exactly needed for customs declaration. Is this called service? OMG useless employees. I am waiting to see the condition of the package when my brother will get the package. If everything is working and everything is in the package...

ZERO work ethics, pay me back for the postage!

Of course, as usual, the postman only delivers a NOTE. Then I go to the office to pick up the package, and no.. "Not here, postman have it". I'm so sick and tired of these lazy people with no work ethics what so ever. Let's hope the postman never meet me at the door while only delivering a note..

Where can one send the bill to ELTA for ALL the times I have had to pick up and bring home my own packages, that I PAID FOR to be delivered?!

No any movement in 10 days! Elta does not have any idea where it is! Instead of sending your post with this service, send signals to outer space for aliens and you have more chance tht your msg will reach to a recepient.

Definately the worst post service in…

Definately the worst post service in the world....for examble 20 days travel for a parcel from China to Greece through Belgium and Holland and ....1,5 MONTH from Athens airport to my home (just 30 Km from the airpost). The same story for at least 30 other orders... I wondering how they're still working!!!!!!!
