Took a while to get through to the operator and the first time, they cut me off. When I did get through, they found a loop hole to get out of coming to collect the car. Very disappointed and I won’t be using this company again for my breakdown cover.

We broke down on the M5 and phoned emergency assist at 14:07. I as given 7 garage phone numbers to try myself to find one that would accept my car. Emergency assist will only take you within 25 mile radius and would not take us home. You’re not supposed to stay in your vehicle and it’s so difficult to hear your phone at the side of the motorway. Two numbers didn’t work but I did find one on the fourth try. I then had to give all my details again and at 14:42 emergency assist began the recovery process. Our recovery driver didn’t arrive till 17:05 and it took 50 minutes to load my car. So, we were at the side of the motorway for 4 hours without a toilet in the sun, when emergency assist publish 1.5 hours. The wrong diagnosis had been communicated to him. Also, he asked me to help and I slipped on the floor of his truck as it was greasy. I now have a sore shoulder. At this point (18:00) it was too late to hire a car from the rental near the garage and we paid £50 to get to the airport where we could hire a car. I’m currently waiting for a reimbursement offer but Emergency assist have stated that they will only reimburse for one onward travel option. Please read the small print before you take out breakdown cover!

The assistant I spoke to on the telephone was very helpful and reassuring. The recovery person was also great and resolved my issue. No long waiting times either.

Con artists. I purchased breakdown for my daughter through this company. Today for the first time in 20 months she called them out to change a battery on a corsa 1.2. They brought a budget battery worth around 75 pound. They charged my daughter £300 for the battery to be supplied, fitted and the removal of the old battery. This is treble what Halfords would have charged for a premium battery .

I cannot comment of the actual breakdown recovery but I will comment on the woman who I spoke to on the phone when I broke down on my own as a single woman with bad phone signal and panicking.
From the start she was rude, abrupt and not at all helpful. I was asked 100’s of questions then she said .. you’re not covered. I tried to ask her why and if I could pay the extra.. she put the phone down on me! Wow.. terrible customer service. Sorry emergency assist
Update.. I have contacted you.. emergency assist!

Things got sorted in the end but there seemed to be not great communication between the people I spoke to originally and the people who came to sort my car I was left waiting for unnecessary time when I could have got a lift home to be told that I could have sorted it ready to the morning after the night before when they told me to go home and ring back in the morning.
