bad service

My daughter had a pair of De Niro riding boots fitted at Emmers. Within a few weeks, the elastic in the boots broke, and she developed painful sores at the back of her knees due to the zipper tab pressing into her skin.

We returned to Emmers and explained the situation. They acknowledged it was a manufacturing defect and sent the boots back to De Niro for repair. However, just a few weeks after the repair, the same issues occurred again.

De Niro then claimed the boots had not been properly fitted by Emmers. Despite this, Emmers refused to take responsibility. All they offered was a €170 gift voucher, while the boots had cost €600 and are now unwearable. We ended up having to buy a 2nd pair of boots at Emmers.

We are very disappointed that a reputable company like Emmers did not simply replace the boots. Poor service—consider yourself warned.

We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with how the situation regarding your daughter’s riding boots was handled. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide to our customers.
At the time, we consulted with the manufacturer, De Niro, and returned the boots to them for assessment and repair. It is unfortunate that the issue reoccurred after the initial repair and that there was some discussion regarding the cause.
Despite the manufacturer’s conclusion that the issue was related to a tight fit, we decided—out of goodwill—to offer you a gesture of compensation: a gift voucher and an additional 20% discount on the purchase of a new pair of riding boots. This arrangement was accepted by you at the time.
We are sorry to see that you have nevertheless left a negative review. We appreciate your feedback and sincerely hope to welcome you again in one of our stores in the future, so we can provide you with the service and quality you can expect from us.
