Gibraltar - a great short break

Great booking experience, the team at Enable were very helpful and their knowledge amazing. I wanted to visit Gibraltar and Warren explained how many accessible attractions I could visit and how to navigate the Rock. I loved the monkeys.
The airport assistance was swift, transfer on time and I stayed at the Elliot for 2 nghts and then moved to the 5* Sunborn ship. Both were good but would thoroughly recommend the Sunborn, its right on the marina and my room had a great sea view.
Off to San Sebastian next on Enable's recommendation, can't wait to try all those amazing Michelin *restaurants.

Outstanding service – we wouldn’t book with anyone else

I am writing this review on behalf of my parents, who recently travelled using Enable Holidays, and I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough.
From the very beginning, the level of care, time and attention to detail was exceptional. The team took the time to fully understand all of my parents’ accessibility requirements and talked us through every option available. Nothing felt rushed, and no question was too small.
They went into so much detail to make sure everything was right, which made the whole booking process completely stress-free and incredibly easy for my parents – it was amazing.
The holiday itself surpassed all of our expectations. The adapted room was exactly as described and matched what had been shown to us during the audit.
Transfers and the resort representative service ran like clockwork, and the hotel staff were friendly, accommodating and genuinely helpful throughout the stay.
On the one occasion we needed assistance while in resort, we contacted the local rep and the Enable emergency team. They responded quickly and resolved the issue within a few hours – absolutely perfect service and incredibly reassuring.
My parents were delighted with every aspect of their holiday and the support they received. They won’t book with anyone else now, and I can’t recommend Enable Holidays enough to anyone looking for accessible travel done properly.

So knowledgeable in what they do

I have used Enable Holidays several times to arrange my travel. From the initial enquiry through to the completion of the holiday could not have gone better. I advised my requirements and dates and they provided several options that fit my details then once I had selected a holiday went through all the accessible features to ensure I was happy. Would definitely recommend and use them again.

Enable Holidays have been my go-to…

Enable Holidays has been my go-to holiday company for many years. They are consistently reliable, friendly, professional and go over and above to provide the perfect holiday experience.

I have complete trust in their ability to meet my needs over and over again. Having that personal human contact is a rarity today and it means a great deal to know the team and speak to someone with whom you have built a relationship with. I cannot recommend them enough.

Benidorm 2024

I wanted 7 or 14 days holiday in Benidorm when I knew 2 elderly family members were there.
September 29th - October 13th 2024.
Because i am an amputee my Travel agent ( Hays ) went through Enable.
I was quoted £2,400 for 7 days half board but with the awful flight times I would’ve got 6 days there.
I thought if they added another 7 days on it would probably be acceptable.
Wrong !! £3,800 for 14 days so adding on £200 per day for just half board.
I priced this holiday up with another travel agent.
Same hotel Sol Ocas Pelicanos and I could’ve booked for £2,300 all inclusive.
I am desperate for holiday to somewhere warm but I am being priced out of it due to my disability.
What makes it worse is the fact that my leg should not have reached the stage of amputation due to Sepsis as this was a total mess up by many NHS Doctors, nurses and consultants.
6 years on, still no compensation and I cannot afford to be ripped off by holiday companies like Enable

It was a disaster of a holiday despite costing a fortuen

I've had no direct contact with Enable Holidays. Rather, a travel agent who at the time I trusted but no longer do, involved Enable Holidays in a move from one hotel to the Servigroup Venus in order for me to have an adapted room.

The Venus is a budget hotel. A fellow guest told he he had paid approx £1,000 to be there for a similar period to myself. I was charged £2,000. My overall impression is that 'disability' served as a money-spinner for both Enable Holidays and Servigroup.

The adapted room turned out to be totally unsuitable for someone with my specific needs. However, the rep I saw insisted that the room in question is an adapted room under Spanish law - due to the addition of a disabled toilet support arm! That may or may not be the case; a Spanish hotel I had earlier stayed in, the HTOP Calella Palace, offered a fully adapted wet room and, in general, a far better experience. In any case, it is English law and the jurisdiction of the English courts that apply when it comes to a booking made with a UK based company.

It was clear the staff at the Venus were not in receipt of Equality disability training. Sufficient of them were sufficiently unpleasant, I hated the place. Shortly after arrival, I was yelled at by a receptionist for declining to go immediately to the restaurant as ordered. At breakfast on my second day a member of the restaurant staff butted me out of the way, knocking me sideways. When I tried to say something to the restaurant manager, I was treated to a tirade in Spanish.

Enable Holidays I think sent the rep. Otherwise, lack of support in obliging the hotel to provide that which I understood would be provided is what was apparent to me. All efforts by both myself and the travel agent to obtain concessions were ignored. Every armchair in the lobby had a seat height of around a foot from the floor. Seating for a disabled person was so poor I could not sit for long without pain and discomfort. The floors, indoors as well as out, were slippery. The supposed adapted room had little natural light, being overshadowed by a road outside that was higher than the room. When I asked to be moved to a room with a sunny balcony, the rep said that the sunny rooms were not adapted rooms! At least the sun shone, but would have done so had I been in a decent hotel that actually caters for disabled guests.

The Venus is listed as one of Enable's properties. For their properties, Enable Holidays promise a guaranteed adapted room, 100% tailor-made holidays to suit the disabled person's specific needs and that all main areas of the property are accessible. Nothing of this was true in this instance. I would have been better off relying on pot luck than on Enable Holidays.

I would never use Enable Holidays…

I would never use Enable Holidays again, they give the talk but do not provide the service and are extremely overpriced. They did not tailor-make this holiday as they state they do otherwise this hotel as nice as it was for abled people is not at all suitable for a wheelchair user, which Enabled Holidays knew my daughter was.

This was our very first disabled holiday, My daughter is totally wheelchair-bound.

I was happy to pay over the odds as I wanted this holiday to be memorable, I wanted her to have independence during the holiday which was very important. Unfortunately, it was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

On arrival in Las Palmas, our driver who was arranged by Enable Holidays wasn't there with no word to me about what was happening.

The carefully selected hotel was inappropriate for a wheelchair user. My daughter was the only disabled person there and I could see why. There were steep slopes in several areas which I struggled to push the chair up and down, so she had no chance with her weak arms to push herself. She was unable to open the bedroom door as you need to hold the card and push the door open at the same time which is not possible in a wheelchair. I have everything filmed if anyone wants to see it. We had to be together at all times.

I had to wheel her around the restaurant to tell her what was on offer as most of the dishes was too high for her to see what was there and absolutely no chance for her to serve herself, then I had to go back and queue again to serve myself.

The bar and food area had a downstairs toilet, which of course is no good for a disabled person.

I sent a letter of complaint via my travel agent who passed it on but Enabled has totally ignored me.

I was supposed to get a refund on a shower chair as this was never used because A) it was a small shower and not a wet room B) There was no room for the chair in our room as our bedroom was small.

What went wrong?
They didn't listen to my requirements. Number one was good flight times. My flight was changed after it was booked to arrive UK at 02.55 am after I had bought travel insurance which incurred a further £21.24 to cover the additional 3 hours.

I was left in tears during my holiday and on arrival back in the uk as a wheelchair pusher was not booked for me after we had got off the plane.

I could go on but I will stop here for now.

Do not Trust!

I trusted enable holidays to provide me with a perfect holiday, but instead it was a total disaster from start to finish.
I’m a quadruple amputee and had planned this holiday and was nervous as I’d not been to Spain as a quad before it’s only been just over 2 years.
Sadly the bathrooms weren’t wet rooms & had steps into the shower, I use a shower chair & one hotel had a 3 inch step it was impossible to have a shower!
The company hasn’t listened to my complaint & really don’t care, I will never use them again I could have booked it so much cheaper myself probably a third of what they charged & I feel I was ripped off!
If you have a disability do not trust them, save your money & book with a good trusted company that won’t rip you off!
