Jake Steiner has unselfishly shared his…

Jake Steiner has unselfishly shared his journey from high myopia back to natural 20/20 vision and what he learned along the way to help others...no charge. His methods are backed by science and countless people have reduced or eliminated their prescriptions. I was also highly myopic and have progressed to low myopia in less than 6 months. Improvements continue. Details on the gist of the method below:

The gist is to maximize the time that the eyes spend bringing images into focus with the slightest under-correction (Active Focus) on just two focal planes (i.e., arm’s length for a “differential” prescription, and a “normalized” prescription for distance). Focusing time between those two planes is minimized because (a.) with a differential prescription there is too much blur (risking form deprivation) and (b.) with a distance or “normalized” prescription there is hyperopic defocus, which works against you (see Incremental Retina Defocus Theory). Outdoor, daylight, active-focusing practice on distant objects is highly recommended. Quarter-diopter prescription reductions are made when the Snellen 20/20 line is clearly read at 20 feet.

Been with endmyopia for about 4 months now and I am starting to get clear flashes! Everything in the blog actually makes sense on how and why endmyopia works to help improve your eyesight. The best part is that everything is free! You just have to put in the time to look and understand all the information.

Let's make change happen

I'm still relatively new to EM, I stumbled across the sight and videos as I was searching for ways to help my young child with mild astigmatism. I am pleased I did search or I would have ended up like many just following mainstream optometry advice. Im still learning, still reading, watching videos. I tell myself , what if I hadn't discovered that there is more I can do?
Onwards and upwards hopefully.

Informative and helpful program for those who are really willing!

So far I've got nothing against Endmyopia... it's still too early for me to say whether I'm making progress or not, but what is taught in the program is really interesting and resonates with my own thinking. I feel that I've known all this all along deep down, yet there was nobody to make me aware of those thoughts before. Now with Endmyopia, I've finally got an action plan :-)

A wealth of information!

I am fairly new to endmyopia.org and have a very weak myopia prescription. I also have presbyopia, which makes things a little more complicated. Luckily, my wife has straight up myopia so we are using Jake's awesome sight to kill our myopia together. I'm also using many of the principals on the sight to combat my presbyopia and hopefully make some gains there too. The sight and the principals are legit and I'm looking forward to sending in some progress reports in the not too distant future!

Definitely Legit

Definitely Legit, My eyesight is steadily improving, I have been measuring the differences on the snellen chart, from only being able to active focus 20/30 from 10 ft away to now 20/15 10 ft away

2 months ago, I started to search some video on youtube about how to improve eyesight naturally and the very first thing that came up was someone’s successful story (sorry! I forgot her name....) using reduced lenses method. Thankfully, she shared the link to Jake’s website: endmyopia.org. I visited this website and overwhelmed with hundreds of how-to guides with hundreds of specific topics, scientific articles and videos explanations. It just amazing! I actually gained a lot of knowledge and I read a lot of successful story too..It’s my first month trying this method and I already feel the different. I will definitely recommend this website!

Endmyopia.org

I found Endmyopia by accident while searching YouTube for Bates Method videos, recommended to me by an acquaintance. The first video listed was something to the affect of "Why Bates Method Doesn't Work", by Jake Steiner. I was intrigued by the fact that there were methods to naturally improve eyesight. I have been stuck with glasses since early high school and I've absolutely HATED them since the moment I put them on. However, I came to terms with the fact that I probably was going to need to wear them the rest of my life.

Anyways, I am very thankful I found that first video as to why Bates Method doesn't work... It saved me a lot of time! I went to Jake Steiner's website (endmyopia.org) and signed up for the 7-day email newsletter. I read and reread all of them, then spent many hours reading the free articles on endmyopia.org. I probably got off to more of a rough start than most people utilizing this method. I did not figure out how to do active focus until around six months in. Active focus is the key factor in eyesight improvement. It entails introducing a small amount of blur to your field of vision, and allowing your eyeball to clear it up. It takes a lot of patience and I would suspect a couple months of reading up about the endmyopia method from the website to figure active focus out. Once it is achieved however, and you get used to doing it on a regular basis, it's smooth sailing from there.

The Endmyopia method is based on science (the biology of the eyeball) and changing habits, not eye-exercise YouTube connoisseur crap. One of the first things you learn when you sign up for the 7-day emails is how the eyeball works. Once you understand the concepts, it becomes very easy to implement the changes in habit needed to improve your eyesight. One of the reasons Jake - and the many people following Endmyopia - don't like eye exercises is because they don't address the core problem of bad habits that cause myopia in the first place.

The following is was my prescription when I first started Endmyopia; -3.50 left eye, - 3.00 right eye. It is important to note that I was actually under prescribed at this time (meaning my eyesight was actually worse than that, and my glasses should have been stronger). I messed up big time in the beginning, I bought new glasses that were far too weak, and encountered blur adaption - which you will learn about after you start your journey with Endmyopia. After a few months of sorting things out (shouldn't have took that long, I just had a lot going on at the time), and a few more months of wearing my correct normalized reduced prescription, my eyesight is now -3.00 left eye, and -2.50 right eye. The average rate of improvement is 0.25 every three to four months. I am extremely excited with these results.

If you are serious about improving eyesight, and ready, willing, and able to change the habits that caused your eyesight to deteriorate in the first place, I recommend Endmyopia.org highly.

The only information that actually makes sense and there's actually people who are improving their vision and some completely got back to 20/20. I don't understand how this isn't more popular and more studied.

I was a bit skeptical at first ..but…

I was a bit skeptical at first when finding this website, as everyone should be. But somehow it triggered my interest. Mostly because it contained correct hard to find info like how to convert diopter to distance.
Lost of thing also made sense, and there is a little bit of scientific proof to support this. So I decided to give it a try. I stopped using glasses behind the PC, which was a bit awkward at the beginning. I don't have high myopia, but I still needed to approach my screen in the beginning as the sitting distance was too far. But I went through and started to feel improving after a week or 2. Now after 4 months I reduced my myopia with +-0.25. Time will tell if further improvements will be made. My primary goal was to stop worsening my eye sight, so it surpassed my expectations. I will continue this journey to see if further improvements are possible. Don't expect immediate results, your eyes didn't get bad in 1 day either.. it takes some time, but it is worth it. If you have a high astigmatism compared to your diopter, like I do, it might be a bit more challenging. But it is possible to at least reduce your astigmatism a bit.
The only drawback is that the blog is a bit chaotic, so if you want to do this on your own, you will need to spend some time on it. But after reading a lot.. things will start to fall together and you will know what to do. But.. you get to enjoy Jake humor along with it, which is part of the fun. Or you could sign up with Jake, who will provide you with the necessary guidelines/coaching and you can get started right away.

Jake Steiner and his website…

Jake Steiner and his website Endmyopia.org was for me the best source I could find in the internet to reverse myopia. I have already bought some books and attended 2 seminars for improving eyesight. Everything dealt with the Bates method, palming, strange eye exercises and the promise to reverse myopia within weeks or even some days. Furthermore, the seminars were quite expensive. Jake Steiner has a different approach that just resonates with me and sounds logical. He recommends to lower your prescription this far that you still can see quite clearly but at the same time give the eyes the opportunity to work which is called active focus. He does not recommend any eye exercises because people who have clear vision don't do it either. He rather gives the advice to change your habits like spending more time outside and looking in the distance. Jake does not make the promise to reverse myopia within weeks or days, because it just takes some time just as it took some time for your myopia to increase and get to this point where it is.
Thank you Jake for your approach and having the guts to confront the optometry industry.
Some personal notes on my eyesight.
I had a prescription of -2.75 and am now wearing -1.25 and just waiting for my new -1.00 glasses. My improvement was within a period of maybe 3 years and even at this time I made mistakes like not wearing glasses at all. I still have to work on my habits but I strongly believe that Jake's approach is the way to go.
Thank you Jake!

Every post is always an interesting… But!

Every post is always an interesting read, and the best part is that nothing is mumbo-jumbo like other so-called myopia recovery methods. Simple, logical and straightforward.

One little complaint though, that while it's true the free blog is not structured or guided in any way, it would be very helpful to have a single post with all the steps from start to finish with links to relevant articles on a specific point.

Basically, the "Pro Topic: How To Reduce Prescription Complexity" post but extended with some more links here and there and more info on each step.

Other than that, great site with awesome free tools. Cheers!

I have made incredible progress in reducing my myopia (confirmed by a dumbfounded optician) all thanks to Jake and his fabulous blog and website. His advice is sound, bringing steady improvements and cultivating good vision habits - and no angle other than helping others take control of their vision. In addition, this has been absolutely free of charge and all the guidance and resources I needed have been freely available on the website. I would highly recommend!

Measurable Improvements after two months

This program has helped me understand how some of the things I was doing on a daily basis were straining my eyes and causing my vision to not improve and even slowly get worse. Shortly after getting glasses in 3rd grade I prayed there would be a way to not need them the rest of my life. Laser eye surgery came along but I did not want to take that risk. Now that I discovered Jake’s method I have noticed some improvement in my vision (Started out seeing 20/40-20/50 with -2.5 correction and now being able to see the 20/25 line with the same correction) and it has only been two months. I am looking forward to continued slow but steady improvements! It is also a relief to understand what actually causes myopia in the first place so I can prevent my children from having to deal with the annoyance of glasses or contacts and risk the health of their eyes. This information is all free and available to anyone who seeks answers on this site so what is there to lose?

Jake Steiner and the other contributors…

Jake Steiner and the other contributors or endmyopia are doing a great thing. Without them, thousands of myopes would go on with their lives not knowing there was anything they could do to fix their vision, quite easily I might add. 90% of the material is free which just goes to show Jake actually cares about helping people. Endmyopia is just fantastic. Period.
