Awful service

Awful service. Don't buy from this person. I ordered a black "iPod Classic 7th Gen 160GB". This person not only sent me a scuffed up "black" iPod that had a white iPod charging port but also actually sent me an iPod Classic 6th Gen instead. On their website this person put below the Add to Cart button that the customer not only needs choose "iPod Classic 7th Gen" but also needs to attach a note explaining that they want the iPod Classic 7th Gen logic board. I assume that the little message below is so they can mislead people and get away with giving you a worse product by technicality. They sell individual logic board parts separately where the 6th Gen boards cost $59.99 and the 7th Gen boards cost $79.99. So most customers probably don't notice that when they buy an iPod Classic 7th Gen for $199.99 that EOE pulled a fast one on them and slipped in an iPod Classic 6th Gen worth $179.99 instead to save a measly $20.

Save yourself a headache and find one on eBay or another seller. If you're looking for an iPod Classic 7th Gen, try to find one that is space grey or silver. All of the matte colors are 6th Gen so avoid those.
Ask the seller which firmware version the iPod is. 7th Gen is 2.0.5.

Also, I live in Canada so I got nailed with $100 in import fees for this thing. I messaged EOE about sending me the wrong product and they refused to do anything after taking forever to reply. They said I could ship it back but I would have to pay for the shipping which they wouldn't reimburse me for. This person sucks as a seller. Don't trust them. Don't buy from them.

If you're an old-school iPod enthusiast, this is the place to go

I originally wanted to get a newer DAP, but various COVID-related factors lead to me deciding to get a replacement for my dead decade-old iPod instead. The iPod was shipped promptly in the stated condition and with my specifications. I didn't go for a pretty and new-looking one, just one that works with a decent battery life and has a high enough capacity. I got precisely that and I'm satisfied with our transaction. As well as going for a pre-assembled refurbished piece (like I did), one can also pick out parts to get a custom build in fun colors or even buy parts for DIY or repair jobs. I'm sure I'll probably go for a more modern DAP when it's time to replace this one, but if you're an old-school iPod enthusiast, this is the place to go.
Also, as a fan of MPGIS, I cracked a smile when I saw that EOE is based out of Overland Park...
