You need another policy out just to protect yourselves from these morons

The WORST insurance company I have ever come into contact with, anyone thinking of insuring anything you value I urge you to leave this website immediately. You would need to take out another insurance policy just to protect yourself from the appalling dysfunctional company. They must cease to operate immediately. I refer to Equity Red Star insurance and their agents Motor quote. Abject rubbish, extremely poor service, no service at all, rude, incompetent, unprofessional, no duty of care to customers whatsoever. Their website weaves a pack of lies. I take giving them a 1 star rating as a personal insult, it would be impossible for them to recover from this in my opinion.

I took out Motorhome insurance through…

I took out Motorhome insurance through Flux with ERS in December last year at a cost of £849.99 for 1 year. My Motorhome was stored in a Gold CaSSOA site (high security) site at Wivelsfield quite a distance from my home. However, at end of March decided to relocate nearer my home in an equally high secure site, again a Gold CaSSoA site in Framfield. I obviously notified them on the day of relocating and without any acceptable reason other than to say 'an unacceptable site', the Insurance was cancelled. I was charged £235.02 for the short time (less than 5 months) There was a non-refundable fee of £100 and also Breakdown Cover of £89.99 thus I received £424.98 out of the £849.99 back to reinsure elsewhere.

It was terrible, the stress involved and I spent days on the phone trying to sort it out. Adrian Flux refunded me the Breakdown Cover and did not charge me the set-up fee against this did not make it right. Apart from ERS saying the site was unacceptable there was no logical or reasonable reason given. Then had to pay a further £265 to get insured elsewhere.

I feel I was ripped off. There was absolutely nothing I could do. I lost a lot of money and the stress involved was shocking.

Appalling. Both sites were Gold CaSSOA sites so why?

If you have the foresight to read this…

If you have the foresight to read this review I recommend that you avoid getting your insurance through Equity Red Star at all costs.
It has taken them from October 2017 to March 2018 to deny a legitimate claim for damage to my motorhome. They refused to come and see the vehicle instead relying on photographic images. Despite repeated images showing the damage they repeatedly requested the same images claiming they did not have them. The time between supplying the 'additional' information and receiving a response was unacceptably long; i.e. weeks. Disgusting customer service.
Denying a legitimate claim is one thing but to take 5 months to come to that conclusion is sheer incompetence. You have been warned.
I am now insured through someone else.

ERS acted perfectly professionally

ERS acted perfectly professionally, albeit a little slowly, to settle my claim after one of the dreaded "moped thieves" smashed my car window and stole photographic equipment (covered by a separate business insurance policy).
The car was quite damaged by broken glass, inside and out, but everything was put right by a top body shop, as new, and my no claims discount was unaffected.
The outcome was worth the wait, and I have renewed for another year with ERS.

customer service

customer service, whats that

funny enough last year had a accident, someone drove into me, took 15 months, and man many chasing, sometimes twice a week , stress stress , thought id give them 1 more chance, no way now..

someone again drove into my car, called them friday, ok, someone will call you back at 8, they never did, so i called them at 9, sorry, your car hasnt been insured since 2015, thats funny, i have just renewed and you have just finished my last accident after fighting with them for 15 months, so i get told, ill get a call back in the morning, so at 1 i call them, then get told accident is being logged, a hire car company will call you in 1 hr and deliver a car before 4 hrs, funny, its sunday and i still havent heard from them,. nearly 24 hrs later, so i call them again, sorry, the company is closed now, ok, i drive now 2 days illegal, and to work tomorrow illegal, so if you think your quote is cheap, THIS IS WHY...they are the worse car insurance company i ahve ever used in the 25 yrs...

UPDATE, i will do Simon when i get home, but drove the car illegally again today and still not heard from anyone, so maybe i keep driving until i get pulled over by the police..

Adrian Flux

i have pasted all of the above as they have my review removed as they say im not a customer, well, ill put my adrian flux reference in the next sentence to prove it, and will also contact trustpilot as they have done this 3 times before..

now a update, i have been getting text messages that people have been trying to call me, well, maybe while i was sunbathing on the moon my phone didn't work, i havent received any missed calls, so i call back, the third time in the last 3 days., yes, we will get someone to call you, ok, no return calls, so i call again this morning, sorry, your case is closed, closed, the car is still damaged and its rusting outside, the guy admitted the crash, i have 2 witnesses and the insurance underwriter he is with, is the same as mine..how can that be hard to deal with..

i am now awaiting a manger from adrian flux to call me back, as i will now report all of this and the previous ones to the ombudsman, for everyone out there, they offer cheap insurance, but when you need to make a claim, even though its a easy one, good luck..

i had spoken to someone for 30 minutes 2 weeks ago to arrange a car while it was being repaired, all this was arranged and confirmed, and now nothing..

ins ref: mc-35688429

trustpilot, please can you post my reviews before and ill send you prove of my cover with adrian flux..

another update,,,24/08/2017

its not adrian flux, its all the other people behind them..

they dont do anything, i have just been told that there is nothing they can do regarding my accident, i dont know what to do, no one seems to want to help regarding a accident that wasnt my fault, just spoke to ombudsman who now have said i raise a formal complaint , and it has to be against the broke adrian flux as they should have been dealing with this and the right people..

so please beware, if you have a crash, adrian flux is just the broker, the people behind them havent a scooby doo what to do.

even now raising a formal complaint against them is becoming a nightmare, please please beware of getting insured through adrian flux, if so, please dont have ERS as underwriters, even if there third party is insured with them, they will do whatever they can to ignore it.

hehehe, another update..

for the last 3 weeks, ive been dealing with a company called innoavation group, who had arranged a hire car, and arranging the repairs, this was all going well, until i get messages saying a garage had been contacting me, so int he end i rang them, and they told me that now its been cancelled, this is why i did this update review, as then i went back to adrian flu, motoplus, they told me to ignore innovation as they have nothing to do with it, ok, so i carry on chasing AF, MP, and then s&g, until today, they tell me they have given up chasing ERS, who is my underwriter and the third parties underwriter, so i called them, now they have told me that innovation group are dealing with it...

like i said before, nice cheap premiums, but hey, what a runaround, expect you to do the work, chasing up and even maybe ill get to fix my own car before anything gets done by the right people. BEWARE..

lets see what happens next:

update 25/08/2017

well, yesterdya was fun, i have the innovation company now dealing with this also, they have told me that enterprise hire car was calling me as im owed a hire car since the accident, as you see im driving illegally, no one has yet called and its 19.15, also the repairers they have recommended to look at my car have 1.8 out of 10 for reviews, so i asked can this be changed to another, as usual no replies...

so I've now given up, ill be informing the ombudsman on Tuesday and will seek legal advice as the car now is seriously rusting, how can it take so long...Rob Perrie

update 28th september,

after that i was advised to go to 2 companies that had poor reviews, i chose my own repairer that was cheaper, well, now they send a engineer and tell me a few days later that the car is only worth 1000, so they are writing it off, huh, we went through this in the 1st place, and it was going to be repaired, as usual adrian flux is not helping, so remember if you get insurance with adrian flux and you have to claim, good luck..the people below are like this, i ahve now lodged the complaint with the ombudsman and will be seeking legal advice, i sent many examples of cars lower spec than mine to show the true value, all were over 2500 and upto 7500, they have now offered me 1733, its crazy..

now lets see how much i can sue them for as the time wasted, stress and the car rusting outside my house.

lets see now if i get any response from anyone,

i like there response, dont give a damn at all, now to hit all the reviews and car related sites on my experience..

Tuesday 10th October 2017
another update, not a single thing is happening, the car is rusting and nothing has been done at all.

now going to review across the whole of the web in every car forum ill find
Edit

Update...

getting ignored and then he puts the phone down on me while discussing the claim, please everyone, they maybe cheap, but think why, if you ever have to claim, this is what you go through, you will not be given whats deserved. and being messed around for months.

great service from equity red star

great service from equity red star. After taking out insurance for my son on a high risk private car policy, i was pleased with how smoothly everything ran after he had an accident. I thought i would try them on a taxi quotation for my hackney carriage. They recommended a local broker to me and again the service has been top notch. Highly recommended

I cannot stress how bad this company …

I cannot stress how bad this company are. I was insured by them through a broker and I will never ever use this company again. Unfortunately my car was hit in the back by a lorry on a busy road. As the lorry driver was braking it was not hit at high speed but obviously when a lorry hits you its going to cause some damage. All in all a straight forward enough claim you would have thought..... The claim was mishandled from start to finish. I made numerous phone calls and nothing was ever acted on, they only seemed to do anything when I really pestered them. They provided no help and support, no courtesy car despite my insurance being comprehensive. I had to wait over 6 weeks for an engineer to come out and collect my car then a further two weeks for them to review it at one of their approved garages to tell me that it needed to be written off, which I could have told them myself from the start! Then I had to wait a further month to get my money for the car and that was only when I called them and asked what on earth was happening. Then it was months later that the claim was finally settled and the fault was removed from my file and again only when I called them did they take any action and contact the other party involved. Do not take out insurance with this company!! I had the back luck to have an accident when I was insured with them. Since then I always look at reviews and take out insurance with a well reported on insurer even if it means paying a bit more. There are so many bad reviews about this company on the internet and if my experience is anything to go by then all are totally justified. Avoid at all costs!

equity hoodwinked red star

my wife and i bought a motorhome in september 2015 and took advantage of breakdown cover with the fully comp insurance via grove and dean so the first holiday away was feb 2016 and off to scotland we drove approximately 5 miles from new galloway on a single track road a deer ran out so i breaked to avoid hitting the beast resuting in the passanger side front wheel veered off the the grass verge and as hard as i fought to bring the motorhome back on to tarmac the further i sank, when i finally came to a stop i was in shock as the motorhome was leaning over dramatically so my wife and i climbed out of the drivers door gingerly in the pouring rain as i managed to get a 1 bar signal and rang my rescue schedule after what seemd to be an eternity in asking a multitude of questions i was told by the operator sorry you are not covered as it was not a mechanical nor electrical problem ( please bear in mind i had a full breakdown cover and the only thing i did not require was eu cover ) however the operator did tell me he could still assist at £90.00 call out & £60.00 winching fee ?and after limited time the costs could go even higher ! to be brutally honest totally we were both soaking wet through / limited phone signal strenght and felt no other option and paid over the phone / less than 10 minutes after payment was paid i ranjg and cancelled so no proof of any breakdown recovery vehicle on route to me so argued my case ? was told would still be charged £90.00 still ? so great start on first day of our holiday ! on returning home had to drive from dg7 to hu12 postcode with steering which is now substandard ( awaiting damage report from the garage ) i was disturbed that after 10 days still no refund someone is always going to ring to discuss but to date never has ! i get the feeling that really i should have wiped the deer out and possibly written off the motorhome then possibly i would have got a free tow out ! feel we have been hoodwinked and vow never to use and voiced my concerns with friends and family members about this comany be warned make sure before handing over your hard earned cash !

lost the front of my v5c

Angry is not the word!!
My bike was stolen from my garage... no worries im insured!
started the claim and they wanted all of the documents for the bike, service history and mots ect. Sent it all off complete and registered mailed it.
I got a call this morning from a guy I will call Mr F... Mr F then told me that the front of my V5C was missing! I know factually that it was sent off complete as both my wife and I work in the motor trade and know the importance of the V5C. In a nut shell Mr F took no responsibility for the missing part of the document and even implied that my wife and I were lying about this! I have no faith in this firm and cannot wait to see what the offer is on my bike... no doubt it will be a complete p**s take.
I will not be using this 2 bob shambles of a firm again!!
In the time of such stress you need everything to go smoothly... loss of documents, no apology and implying that we are liars ruffles ones feathers beyond belief!
if you know that your not going to make a claim then its a great firm... however iv had to and to be honest I will not use this firm again!

Terrible

Totally incompetent organisation. My son is insured with Equity Red Star as they were the least criminally high priced company for Third Party Fire and Theft. As he is a new driver the policy was nearly £2,000. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, the rear windscreen was smashed and the ERS were called. The call was made at approx 6pm on Saturday and the best ETA for the replacement was Weds (4 days later). I am not sure who can manage for 4 days without their car but this was the shortest time possible and we just had to deal with this. Unfortunately he was due to leave on holiday on Weds morning and ERS were made aware of this over the course of many phone calls. We were told that we would be called on Weds morning to tell us when the screen would be fitted. ERS' partner called to tell us that we were booked in for the afternoon. When I told them that we had made it very clear that it was extremely urgent and that the car was needed in the morning they said that there were no notes on their system about this. A further series of phone calls had to be made, during which we were told that contrary to the fact we were unhappy about this oversight the fact that we were having a screen fitted 4 days after making our initial phone call meant that we were receiving "good service". We did managed to persuade the window fitters to rearrange their jobs and come to us earlier. When they turned up they had the front windscreen in their van and had to go back to base. ERS were apologetic but much less than helpful in trying to resolve this problem. Then they dropped a bombshell which was very surprising. After having made many phone calls and given policy number and registration number etc each time we were then told that the windscreen replacement was not covered. This should have been made clear from the first phone call. I will never use this company again and having now read all the negative reviews I realise that we should have stumped up a couple of hundred pounds to use another company.

good low cost insurance

while not the best customer service i was impressed over the service following a claim. The staff are based in the UK (Swansea) and that is a welcome i like rather than speaking to an Indian call center. The service could have been a little faster but overall i feel its a good company..
