Europcar Dubai T2
First time using europcar, was a bit unsure from the reviews. Booked through a comparison site and was given the car I booked, didn’t have any problems.
Would use again.

They charged me 200$ after 1 year and 300$ after one year and a half! They are abusive, no responses, no nothing just a waste of money..DON'T RECCOMEND!
Extremely Poor Experience – Unauthorised Charges and Unprofessional Conduct
I had a very disappointing experience with Europcar during and after my recent car hire in Dubai, and I would not recommend them.
1. Unauthorised card charges after rental completion
Despite settling the agreed rental amount in full at the end of the hire and subsequently paying the separately invoiced Salik (toll) charges, Europcar charged my card again on a later date without any notification, explanation, or consent. Charging a customer’s card after the rental has ended, without transparency or authorisation, is completely unacceptable. Having card details does not give Europcar the right to debit amounts at will.
2. Poor, rude, and unprofessional customer service at the desk
The customer service provided at the Europcar desk was extremely poor. Staff were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Basic customer service standards were not met, and concerns were not handled respectfully or clearly. This set the tone for what turned out to be a very negative experience overall.
3. Unethical damage charge for pre-existing wheel damage
I was charged an additional AED 350 for a mark on the front tyre rim which was clearly pointed out at the time of vehicle collection. I specifically raised this with the Europcar representative, who told me the mark was minor and did not need to be reported. I trusted this assurance. Despite this, Europcar later charged me for the exact same mark. This is unethical, misleading, and completely unprofessional.
Overall, this experience shows a lack of transparency, poor customer service, and questionable business practices. I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when renting from Europcar, particularly regarding post-rental charges and damage claims.
Those scammers made me wait for hours…
Those scammers made me wait for hours as no car at all although I have done all my homework, gave me a lower category car without any refund and finally made me pay for a dent I haven’t done although I did paid premium insurance (double of the car price). Avoid them if you still want to have dignity on you holly days!
Unfortunately
Unfortunately, my experience was far below an acceptable standard. The staff appeared unprofessional and unhelpful, and their handling of issues lacked competence. In addition, the vehicles provided were in poor condition and repeatedly malfunctioned, causing significant inconvenience and frustration.
Given the price charged for your services, the overall quality does not represent value for money. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and reliability, which was not delivered.
I’ve been a loyal Europcar customer for…
I’ve been a loyal Europcar customer for many years and usually rent with them when visiting Dubai. On my recent trip (12–22 Nov 2025), I was disappointed to receive a much smaller car (Nissan Magnite) despite normally getting an SUV like a Kia Sportage for the same price.
When I raised this at the counter, staff told me they couldn’t offer a courtesy upgrade and that I would need to pay an extra 750 AED. I felt my previous loyalty wasn’t acknowledged, and the service was not as helpful as I’ve experienced in the past.
I hope Europcar reviews this, as I’ve always trusted them and would like to continue renting with confidence in the future.
absolute rubbish outfit
absolute rubbish outfit. Gave me a car that has less power than a hairdryer. They gave me contact details in case of any queries. Had a question about parking charges which I couldnt pay for online as I dont have a local SIM as they send you SMS. Three emails I sent to them over a 2 week period and not one reply. Customer service is awful, never again, id rather use a taxi
Strongly advise against.
The "free upgrade" barely moved so I'm worried how the original was!
But in all seriousness, they have just charged me an extra 500aed a week after the rental without permission, the deposit has completely disappeared, and I think their Wifi must ha e broken because they cant seem to respond to any messages
Strongly advise against.

Surprisingly good
My rental period was from 3rd August 2025 to 12th August 2025.
I was quite nervous after reading all the bad reviews, almost to the point of ruining my trip. But in the end, everything went perfectly.
I had booked a Toyota Fortuner through Booking.com, but instead I got a newer Nissan Terra (referred to as Xterra). It had Apple CarPlay and other features we really liked.
I arrived at Terminal 3 but missed the pickup instructions and mistakenly went to Terminal 1. The two male colleagues at Terminal 1 reassured me and clearly explained how to collect my car from the parking area at Terminal 3. The two female colleagues and one male colleague at the pickup location were also very helpful. Thank you! Even though I was almost two hours late, the car was still waiting for me.
I took my own photos and videos for damage control, kept track of road tolls, and checked the Dubai Police website for any fines. In the end, everything went smoothly and perfect. I didn’t have to pay anything extra and my deposit was refunded. August is hot, I expected people to be stressed but the staff were all friendly and helpful to be honest.
I will definitely book with them again and recommend them as well.
Negatives:
- There are no staff at the counter inside Terminal 3. Only instructions which could easily be missed by a stressed traveller. Other companies have someone to guide you to the actual pick up desks inside the parking area outside Terminal 3.
- None of the listed phone numbers were answered. Only the number on the contract I received by email worked.
However, the staff is really friendly and helpful. Thanks again!

AVOID AT ALL COST
Vehicle i booked was a nissan xtrail with 2.5 petrol engine as didnt want a underpowered car from Dubai airport Terminal 1. When i arrived at airport i was given a 2.0 hyundai tuscon which had few issues which i found as driving to hotel. I rang their head office and after 4 hours i was told same the nissan xtrail would be ready to collect as replacement. When i arrived at their headoffice and after waiting for 1 hour i was told nissan xtrail had some engine issue and that they will offer me a kia sportage 2.4. Being a 2.4 i agreed but driving on way back to hotel didnt feel like a 2.4 and realised it was a 2.0 instead. So basically i was lied to and wasted most of that day sorting and swapping cars and i couldnt go anywhere. Ive used other hire companies and europcar in past and never had this issue. After this experience ive already cancelled another booking in dubai that i had with them and gone with another company. The staff at collection counter didnt have any interaction and wasnt even bothered to say hi and same at drop off as there was no staff at the counter. No upgrade or refund was offered whereas some other people i know that hardly hire a car were upgraded etc with europcar. My advice to other people is to stay away from this company and book somewhere else.
Avoid Europcar at all costs!
Avoid Europcar at all costs!
We rented a car with full insurance (over €160), but after a tiny dent without paint damage – caused while parked – the staff threatened us, blocked €250 on our card and ignored my serious health condition. We had no choice but to pay because of our flight. This is dishonest and abusive. Full coverage should protect customers from such charges – what Europcar did may be considered unfair commercial practice under EU law. Do not trust them, they will ruin your holiday.
I rented a car and also got insurance…
I rented a car and also got insurance on the vehicle. None of the phone charging port in the car worked which made it extremely difficult to travel. I had a minor chip on the bottom of the bumper which was less than a penny size. They said they will charge me money for it approx 350 dirham. I told them i had insurance and they said they need police report for that minor paint chip. I was running late for the flight and signed to one minor damage. They keep on charging me for different things. I would not recommend this rental place. I am surprised they are allowed to operate in Dubai.
Europcar Dubai
Europcar Dubai – A Masterclass in Incompetence, Dishonesty, and Data Breach Negligence
I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by my experience with Europcar — particularly their Dubai branch, which has proven to be an embarrassment to the entire brand. What started as a routine car rental ended in a nightmare of fraudulent behavior, data mishandling, zero accountability, and a total collapse of customer service.
Let’s start with the fabricated damage report. After returning the vehicle clean, undamaged, and on time — and having it confirmed by their own staff that everything was in order — I was blindsided by a post-return “report” claiming bizarre and obviously made-up damages: “Missing bumpers,” “missing wings,” and other nonsense I could’ve laughed at had it not been so offensively dishonest. No proof, no photos, no timestamps — just vague accusations made after the car was signed off. Classic scam tactic.
Even after demanding clarification, what did I receive? Silence. Then, after weeks of pressure, they begrudgingly admitted: “You will NOT be charged.” No apology, no explanation, not even a token gesture of professionalism. Just radio silence and a vague shrug — like they do this all the time. And maybe they do.
But the absolute peak of disgrace came later: I started receiving phishing emails — fake Europcar messages, asking for payment on my rental, referencing my real rental ID, masked credit card number, and personal data. Where did they get this? From Europcar Dubai, obviously. Europcar leaked — or worse, shared — my private information with unauthorized third parties. This isn’t just a customer service failure. It’s a data protection scandal.
I informed Europcar Dubai immediately. They danced around the issue like it was a joke. I even had to remind them of their own previous confirmation that no charges were due. Instead of rectifying the situation, they kept forwarding my email like a hot potato within their useless departments, each more incompetent than the last.
Europcar, how dare you operate with such negligence and arrogance? You let your Dubai franchise run wild — issuing false damage claims, refusing transparency, and leaking customer data — and then expect your customers to trust you? I wouldn’t trust you to rent a bicycle at this point.
To any potential customer reading this: RUN. Europcar might have a global logo, but their Dubai operation is a shameful stain on their name. It’s dishonest, chaotic, and possibly dangerous if you value your privacy.
You’ve permanently lost me as a customer. And unless Europcar makes this right — publicly, transparently, and with accountability — I will make it my mission to share this story across every platform and with every consumer rights group I can reach.

It’s well known that Dubai’s car rental companies are the biggest scam in the UAE, but these guys just take the proverbial.
On collection we waited over 2 hours as the car wasn’t ready. On return they tried to bill us for every possible additional charge, damage, excess mileage etc which we argued and managed to sort.
But we are still waiting in the 43 degree heat for them to actually give us the final signature paperwork.
Also, very stingy they won’t release your deposit back to you for 2 weeks, and then advise it will probably take up to a month to reach your account again.
Only gave it one star as zero wasn’t an option.
Dubai has the worst Head Office around the globe!!
Worst customer service in my car rental history. The guys in the Head Office on Al Quoz won't answer the phone even when sitting right there. I arranged for a pickup/collection FOUR days in advance. They never came. I called ALL day and customer service siad they were sending them emails each time. They would not answer emails or texts. They screwed up my last day in town. Their pay must suck because they suck!!! He claimed they were busy. When I got there, there wasn't a single customer.
Pathetic service levels
Pathetic service levels. You have to go begging them to recover ancillary charges with no acknowledgement or response to emails. Have been chasing them for weeks since I handed over the car on 17th April and then sending me the final invoices for ancillary charges but no one bothers to even acknowledge. I have left UAE and been asked by the bank to close the credit card which I am unable to do so with these guys not responding recovering the fees due.
