Quality furniture made locally

Chose this local company because they could offer purpose built 2.5 seater sofa with considerable choice of style and fabric. We also chose an Italian leather sofa in a coordinating colour. This was a much better fit for our room than other similar sofas in major retailers. The staff were very friendly and did not try to flog us lots of add-ons as the big stores do. Delivery guys very friendly and got the sofas in despite tight fit. Missing star in recognition of high price and longish wait compared to the high street alternative. Happy to support a local quality furniture provider.

£6000 suite arm chair does not match

I purchased a new around £6000 three piece suite and in the showroom was assured that sitting on a sofa was like sitting in a chair without one arm. When the suite was delivered it was clear the armchair was different to the rest of the suite and sent photos to Evans demonstrating how the armchair was considerably lower than either of the two sofas. They sent someone to our home to see and agreed it clearly was not right. Several things were tried including taking the chair away for a week. It was returned with new cushion and after the bother involved and them telling me it was made from a template I felt I had no choice but to give it a go. After a year it has only got worse with the armchair considerably lower from cushion to floor. I contacted Evans but have had no response. Not happy.

We bought two sofas and two arm chairs…

We bought two sofas and two arm chairs from Evans in 2017 and were sold 'Fabric Care' which we were led to believe was a treatment that protected the fabric of the seats. We felt this was a good option so paid an extra £400. However, on phoning the company who provided this to find out the best way to remove a water mark, we found out that we had actually been sold a very expensive insurance policy which was virtually useless to us. We felt deceived by the salesman.
