Service from Darren at Rototuna…

When I first asked Darren at Rototuna about a cycle helmet I was told to come back later when they had more stock, something to do with financial year?? When I came back about two weeks later Darren said he had an email to send & walked off leaving me, who has no idea on what helmet to buy to select my own. The selection in store was poor & half of the helmets where out of my reach and the only one I found that fitted nicely was on display with a broken visor. I pointed out the broken visor to Darren but he wasn't interested, I suggested a discount (Evo had similar currently on sale) as I was going to have to repair the visor and it was a display model, but no, full retail price had to be payed for a broken display helmet. I then had trouble trying to repair the visor & returned to Frankton store hoping for a better experience. They were friendly & promised a replacement in two days but have not got back to me and have not answered my phone calls or messages left. Very disappointed as in the past you guys were great to deal with. Please return my phone calls you owe me a NEW Helmet!

Above and Beyond Service from Start to Finish

Our experience with Evo Cycles Tower Junction has been absolutely fantastic.

We bought a bike for our son last Christmas, and from the very beginning, the whole process was smooth and enjoyable. The staff were incredibly helpful and patient, letting our son try different models to find the perfect fit. That hands-on approach made a big difference and showed they genuinely care about getting it right.

What really stood out was their professionalism. They assembled the bike as part of the service to ensure everything performs exactly as it should, and they were more than happy to store it in their warehouse until we were ready to collect it—such a thoughtful and convenient touch.

Every interaction came with a big smile and a willingness to help. Communication was easy, questions were always answered, and the level of customer service was truly outstanding.

The bike itself has been a huge success—well loved and heavily used by our son, which says it all. We’re very grateful for the experience and the quality.

Thank you, Evo Cycles Tower Junction ❤️ Highly recommended to anyone looking for great service and the right bike for their needs.

I appreciate the way they prioritised…

I appreciate the way they prioritised our last minute need to get the bike brakes fixed during our walk-in visit. They accommodated this amidst their fully booked schedule and we could take the bike to our holiday, which saved hiring a bike there.

Amazing Evo Cycles

Not only undercover parking in downtown Auckland. Not only a great range. But also the best advice regarding my awesome new bike seat and bike shorts and good chat from Nate and his Mate. Top work gents. Made a grim wet Auckland day way better!

Terrible service

Terrible service, terrible communication.
Both bikes recently serviced have had to go back to be fixed.
Spent $1100 and had to rent a bike whilst one went back. Now the 2 one crapped out on 1st ride.
Defecting.

This is a business of two faces

This is a business of two faces. On one hand the experience received in store is outstanding with friendly knowledgeable staff ready to help. However when something goes wrong, then this is sadly a company that simply doesn't care about its customer.
I enquired about the availability of two Bosch ebike parts and was advised that both were in stock at the supplier. Once ordered and paid for, Evo Cycles have an internal policy to source the items firstly from store stock. This would normally be fine and understandable, but the delivery takes for ever and then when the part does arrive it has previously been opened and looks second hand. Fortunately the good people instore recognized this and in turn re-ordered the part from the supplier.
Over a week for delivery, and no acknowledgement from Evo Cycles executive following a written complaint.
Someone once said; "A complaint is a gift, its free, so welcome it and use it wisely to improve your business".

EVO CyclesInvercargill are awesome, my gear selector was not working and Glen and the team said bring it in. 10mins later in the shop they fixed it on the spot...the best service, highly recommend the Invercargill Evo Cycle team 😀

Avoid Evo Frankton

I had a bad experience with Evo Frankton. I have use Evo Rotatuna for several years and they were great but are no longer doing services. I purchased a service pack with my last bike and had to take it to the Frankton store. When it came back the gears were not changing properly, they had been before the service. I took it back and they fixed them. Fine, but then the first time the bike got wet, one week after the service the chain got wet and went rusty. When I complained about this, through their website, as It was too much effort to take the bike back a third time, they told me I needed to towel dry the chain and relube it every time it got wet! While the chain lube will eventually wash off it should not have all disappeared in one week. I ride in the rain regularly, lube the chain every 3 months and have never had a problem like this. It looks like the chain was degreased but not re lubed. I have two services left on my agreement and requested a refund on these. They have not replied in over a week.

Happy!

order was easy to pay for , came a day before estimated date. which is good.

update. after a week of use love the bike, easy to set up only need allen keys to put handle bars & pedals on (so make sure you have a set), love the brake cords being in the bike frame less cords outside of the frame. great price for my daily gym missions!

Store doesnt give refunds on exchanges / upgrades

Bought a topeak saddle bag and wanted to upgrade it to another model - Evo Hornby wouldnt take it back even though it was in 100% new condition / told me to sell it. Stupidly bought the better model - should have gone elsewhere to a company that values customers.. wont b back....

Aramex was used

The courier company Aramex was used. All information, including address, instructions on how to leave as I am in a gated apartment building and my mobile phone number were given. More information is now needed on the tracking app after a day of "its on its way". But no phone call. No parcel delivery. My experiences with Aramex are consistently poor, but other couriers manage to deliver to me. I will not order anything from EVO again if you continue to use Aramex.

I made use of Evocycles Frankton workshop

I made use of Evocycles Frankton, because I am needed a Bosch motor replaced. I knew what was wrong with the motor and only wanted replacement. After I explained the same thing to 5 different people at different times they informed me that the motor needed replacement. Fine. They then mentioned some shifting problems, but I’ve been building bikes myself for 25yr and said that I’ll do it. After I picked up the bike it was obvious that they force the new motor in and squashed the outer housing of the shifting cable and also broke the shifter by trying to force it. I took the motor out and noticed that they also trapped some of the electronic cable in the groove for the motor mount brackets. Very disappointing, considering that they worth their labour at 100$/ hr. The job was 200$ more expensive than a quote from a Taupo bike shop. I had to spend 3 hr of my time putting new gear outers in, reinstalling the motor correctly and rebuilding the shifter!
