What an Experience!
The youth that hosted us served us with a heart of deep compassion. They made every effort to accommodate our unique needs, from the ways in which our group served to even dietary considerations. They were active alongside us as we worked at the various sites. We also loved the opportunities we had to work in the 3 locations: Old Savannah, Salvation Army, and the city of Savannah (painting). There was lots of work to do to keep our youth busy. It was an amazing experience!
The organization of the our itinerary…
The organization of the our itinerary each day allowing us to establish a routine with the service we were assisting was excellent. Amazing staff!
The leaders were amazing
The leaders were amazing! They were right on top of it from the beginning. They were friendly, well-organized and in touch with the community and its needs. We couldn't have asked for more! I think we will definitely be back again.
Trip was organized
Trip was organized, people were friendly, we were fed well.
The staff member named Luke that was assigned to help us on Monday and Thursday was not interested in helping us at all. He sat mostly on his phone. He didn't set a good example as a leader.
Other staff members were friendly, organized, and so much fun to talk to.
Intentional and Relationship based
A great organization that holds quality mission views that value and emphasize relationship and intentionality within their work.
The staff was friendly and genuinely …
The staff was friendly and genuinely was concerned about how things were going for our group both physically and spiritually. They organized a great variety of activities that allowed our group to work both in service and evangelism. The food was plentiful and good. The area of Pikeville was friendly and a great place to serve.
Enjoy
Everything was great. The place that we stayed at Christian Fellowship Church was nice and the staff was helpful, wonderful and took great care of us. The food was good.
We had a great experience, life changing, memories we will have forever!
We had a great experience! We were touched by the people we served, especially Lynn. The men did a lot of work at Lynn's, you let them do their thing as there was much experience in their group. There were many tears of God's love as they left on the last day. Experience Missions was always willing to get them the supplies and equipment they needed. The ladies did different jobs, each meaningful in their own way, while river cleanup was not the ideal conditions it was what they enjoyed the most. The church we stayed in was very accommodating to us, we had all the room we needed for sleeping and for having meals and fun. Even though there were only 2 showers, we worked out a schedule that worked. (Some of our women were concerned about sharing a room with men, so Jenna got some sheets and divided the room.) We went to Wednesday night service/Bible Study at Providence, it was a very good night, we enjoyed what verses he talked about and how they could be applied to our trip. They later came and had to have a picture with our group, that meant a lot to us.
The food was some of the best food I have ever had on a mission trip and there was always more than enough. Great job by the cooks!!!
We stayed at a different church than the rest of the group, it worked well for us and I understand, but we missed out of some of the discussions/fun with the other churches. There was some at meals and worship, but we were ready to get back to our own church by the end of the night. (This is not to be negative, but we always enjoy getting to know the leaders from the groups we are serving with, we had some conversations, but not a lot at the end of the day. I realize each mission trip is different.)
Something to think about, music helps unite, I know we could bring our own which we did one night but especially students enjoy singing, I do too. Many good songs out there, with meaningful words.
All in all, it was a great trip for all of us, we grew closer to each other, made some great relationships with the people we served, moved us closer to God in many ways, and the team that served us showed their love of God and were very accommodating to us.
Thanks for a great experience!!!
Volunteer Feedback
We truly appreciated the kindness and dedication of the Mission Experience staff. Their openness and genuine belief in the work they were doing did not go unnoticed, and it was clear they cared deeply about both the volunteers and the communities they served.
However, there were several areas that could use thoughtful re-evaluation. Many volunteers felt underutilized, especially given the effort to share our skill sets in the initial surveys. While we were happy to assist with business and landscaping projects, it was disheartening to witness pressing needs—like people living in tents—seemingly go unaddressed.
Additionally, this trip may not align with those seeking a spiritually transformative, evangelistic mission experience. Opportunities for group worship, reflection, and outreach were minimal, and evangelism toward those we served was discouraged—something that may surprise those expecting a faith-deepening journey.
We're grateful for the opportunity to serve and hope this feedback contributes to even greater impact and clarity in future mission trips.
Would go back in a minute!!
The staff was fantastic as well as the connection to the community. The worked was well planned and all the needed materials and tools were available. They also provided some great community events. The facilities were exactly as described. Would go back in a minute.
It Was Overall Okay.
It was overall ok. Nothing amazing, nothing bad. Had a few hiccups in South Africa and Lesotho, other than that it was good.

I Love Experience Mission
I Love Experience Mission! I've been a part of EMs immersion teams since 2019! I've been to the Holy Land twice, and South Africa twice. This year I'll be headed back to SA for a two week Namibia trip! I am extremely blessed EM has been a part of my life for the better part of 6 years. I will always have a special place in my heart for this organization! I recommend it to people I meet all the time. 10/10 worth the experience!!
Our host was an excellent host
Our host was an excellent host. Zach. Everything was organized well and the whole experience was awesome.
Experience Mission - HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Everything from the initial planning, to group meetings prior to the trip, to actually arriving on the site was flawless. Our students had the best experience and will treasure the memories and friendships made for years to come.
