Seems to me this FakeSpot analyzer is simply bogus. Just take a look - 2 identical earbuds, one is in black and rated 'F', and another one in white rated 'B'. Both earbuds have same 207 reviews. See... See more

Fakespot is not reliable. We have never solicited a review for our business. We go above and beyond to follow Amazon TOS and fakespot gives our products C and F. Yet one of our competitors who has man... See more

Completely inaccurate results

Completely inaccurate results. This site used to provide reliable results but now the results themselves are inaccurate and deceptive. I have seen a few brands that have 3rd party managed reviews that have high ratings and reviews which fake spot claims is an F.

This plugin seemed like a good idea, but...

This plugin seemed like a good idea, but after using it for just over a month I've found it to be horribly unreliable.

Lots of well-reviewed products that I have myself, and know to be excellent, getting an 'F' rating.

Ditto with the converse, terribly reviewed products getting an "A" from them.

Maybe if their algorithm improved, a lot, it'd be worthwhile. But right now it's not worth the trouble and I feel like they are doing more hram than good.

F rating for good listing with fake 1-star reviews

As a seller I no longer support Fakespot. In the beginning, Fakespot correctly attirbuted grade A to my listing (organic reviews only). As it gained success, it's been under a heavy attack of fake 1-star reviews (20+ within 2 weeks). With that, Fakespot's rating dropped to F. The way it looks like from the customer's standpoint is that not only the listing's rating dropped but it also lost its credibility.
UPDATE: I've just reanalyzed the data and it switched back to A. I've raised my rating to 2/5, but decided to keep it low as I've never heard from Fakespot's customer support about the issue, despite the fact I've raised the concern with them directly. I believe there may be more sellers affected by this glitch.
Fakespot, it's high time you also cared about the wellbeing of sellers, not just the customers.

Poor analysis of reviewers

I recently read reviews on Amazon for a rechargeable battery for my Canon5D. the product had recieved 100% 5 star reviews by 15 verified purchasers. You gave the page an "A" rating.
The 15 reviews were all posted within one week of each other. They seem to be suspiciously similar and contrived.
I looked at each of the reviewers and found each had reviewed other products and always gave Five star reviews. With the exception of books. Each of them have reviewed one book and given it a one star, even though at least one of them wrote only highly positive comments.
they all reviewed identical Products Including chargers or cables from various companies. OK, not hard to believe.
But they all also bought and reviewed the same "pet cat water fountain" and they all gave the fountain 5 stars. even tho many other reviewers said the fountain was absolute junk.

You rated this group of reviews as "A".
If they are not obvious hired reviewers, they are AT LEAST suspicious.
Shame on you FAKESPOT

It used to be okay...

It used to be okay, but now apparently every item I ever consider is unreliable; and that's a lot of items. Something has gone wrong within the last few months; either the learning of the system is incorrect or Fakespot is trying to say "Stop buying from Amazon", which while is a worthy cause, is not what I use the site for.

Hmmm 🤔

Wow something significant has changed in the past several months. I was suspicious by all the F’s so I started looking into products I’ve used and they were all F’s or D’s. Then I started reading amazon reviews for A and B rated and honestly I was confused on how they received the grade. I

What Went Wrong, Fakespot?

Fakespot used to be a pretty reliable way to spot products with fake reviews. But in the last 6-12 months, something has gone wrong. I see F ratings for very legitimate products with reviews that appear sincere and well-written. And some scammers seem to have found ways to fool Fakespot into accepting their bogus reviews as real. I don't know what went wrong, but when a Netgear Router that is an "Editor's Choice"
on PC World gets an "F" while a poorly made Ivy cap gets a "B" something is clearly wrong. It was good for a while.

Americas Test Kitchen has never let me…

Americas Test Kitchen has never let me down with their recommendations for various kitchen appliances. The highest rated inexpensive blender as of this review is the Kitchenaid 5 speed Diamond. On Amazon there are 1884 reviews averaging 4 stars. Fakespot gave it an F and I find that hard to believe. There have been other lots of other items that I researched and found to be highly recommended that Fakespot gave a D or F. I think Fakespot is faker than the Amazon reviews. I'm deleting the app.

Seems OK to me

I own a restaurant and a bed & breakfast which between them have well over one thousand reviews on TripAdvisor. We have never arranged for a false review and our rating by Fakespot for both properties is "A"

This rating I know for a fact is entirely accurate and leads me to believe that the review ratings on Amazon might be similar and I have made all my purchases there with a heavy reliance on the Fakespot ratings.

I love fakespot

I love fakespot.
I am an avid reader and have spend more money on books that I DID NOT ENJOY because of all the fabricated review.
I'm aware of how authors swap reviews considering there are groups on facebook meant for just that.
Plus you have fan girls who don't think of hard working readers who will be spending their hard earned money on these books. I'll admit, even with bad review, I sometimes one-click. But, I do like the option to do so.
When a book has nothing but 4-5 star review, you expect a lot to come from that book. When it doesn't you're left feeling disappointed and feeling angry.
Anyway, authors and dishonest sellers might hate this site, but me? An avid reader? A regular book buyer? I absolutely love it. Fakespot has saved me from wasting money on books I would not enjoy.

Fakespot rates REVIEWS not products

It’s interesting that everyone that gave this a bad review does not appear to understand what Fakespot does. It rates the quality of the reviews NOT the product. I have no interest in Fakespot, just trying to clarify for people what it does. I use it all the time! Wish they had more sites that they could be used on.
