Absolutely shocking service from FedEx Greece.
We ordered goods from Scandinavia to Cyprus with a total value of approximately €1,450. During transit, the shipment was stopped in Greece because it contained 8 small hazardous items with a combined value of only €15.
FedEx contacted us requesting SDS documentation and additional forms, which we provided immediately. We also asked FedEx to simply remove the 8 items in question and allow the remaining shipment to continue to Cyprus. This request was refused.
We were then informed that we would need to collect the shipment ourselves or it would be destroyed. However, despite repeatedly emailing and requesting information for four days, we received no response, no collection address, and no clear instructions on how or where to collect the package.
No reasonable opportunity was given to resolve the issue. While we were still waiting for a response and trying to arrange collection, the sender received an email stating that the shipment had been destroyed.
The most frustrating part is that goods worth approximately €1,450 were destroyed because of 8 small items worth around €15, even though we were willing to have those items removed from the shipment.
This situation could have been resolved easily through basic communication and customer service. Instead, we were met with delays, lack of responses, refusal to offer a practical solution, and ultimately the destruction of the entire shipment.
A logistics company should help customers solve problems, not create them. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before using FedEx Greece.
