Overpriced, Slow, and Surprisingly Weak
After giving Hüm a proper try, I’ve come away disappointed overall. The device is well made — solid, nicely finished, and comfortable to use — but the price feels hard to justify when you consider it’s manufactured in China and likely costs no more than £5–10 to produce a medium order QTY and sub £5 for a high order QTY. On top of that, delivery takes far longer than expected because it’s coming from overseas, again, China.
The real let-down is the spice sticks. The flavours are extremely weak, borderline non-existent, and they don’t provide any kind of kick or satisfying sensation. For something that’s marketed as a flavour-based alternative, that’s a huge miss. Given how much the refills cost, it left me feeling very short-changed.
The only genuine positive is that it can help curb the urge to reach for an actual vape, simply because it keeps your hands and mouth busy. But honestly, I’d have been just as well off using a straw — the inserts are so faint it’s basically like inhaling plain air.
Overall, Hüm is a well-made device let down by overpriced, underpowered inserts and slow delivery. The quality of the flavour just doesn’t match the premium price tag.

I've had mine for 1 week and I am never turning back. I was smoking 15/20 cigarettes per day for the last 15 years, tried vaping multiple times to try and ditch smoking but it never worked. This has absolutely worked and curved a lot of my cravings. 10/10 recommend if you actually want to give up smoking/vaping, you need to have your own "want" to quit and it will work ✅️ Delivery took 1 week. Yes, it's a drop shipped product, but it does exactly what it says on the tin and it actually does really help. I enjoy the flavours, my favourite being the mango or the orange (closest to vape flavours) and I feel like the peppermint would be good for menthol smokers. Price tag for the starter kit is easily made back from not purchasing cigarettes/vapes, and they have a return policy if you dont get on with it (other comments clearly not utilising that).

Thought I'd give this a try, but should have read the third party reviews first. Hum claims over 20,000 changed lives with 97% approval rate. scamadviser.com warns that this is an internal review system which is unreliable and probably lies. Look at the 3rd party reviews and you'll get a much better idea of what this product is like.
Delivery was OK, but no instructions, the device is clearly put together as cheaply as possible and no branding at all on the flavour sticks. All a bit suspect. As for using it.......well, a good description of what it is like to use, no matter what flavour you choose, is, imagine spraying something like febreze in to a room, leaving it for a few minutes and then walking in and breathing. Exactly what you'd get, a very faint taste of chemicals that bear no relation to the falvour it's supposed to be, you might as well just spray viakal in a straw and suck on that the next day when it has dried.
Mine went in the bin 36 hours after delivery.

Regarding delivery, your order was delivered within 7 working days. These were indeed the average delays we saw during the busy end of summer and back-to-school period. We sent several update emails during this time, so please do check your spam folder in case they landed there. We always try to be fully transparent about delivery times.
About the product, it seems there was a misunderstanding. HÜM is not a vape. From our email exchanges, it looked like you were expecting a strong, synthetic taste similar to e-liquids. That is not what we offer. Our flavour cores are infused with natural essential oils, so the taste is much softer and not comparable to artificially enhanced vape liquids.
As we explain clearly on our website, after years of vaping or smoking, taste buds are often dulled. It takes around 10 days for them to begin repairing, which is why some users feel little flavour at first. Over time the natural flavours become more noticeable, although they will never be as strong as artificial e-liquids.
This is exactly why we provide a 30-day “Quit or Refund” guarantee. If you find that HÜM does not suit you, you are free to return it within this period for a full refund, as long as the device is cleaned and returned in its original packaging (we don’t believe asking for a quick clean and keeping the box is an unreasonable condition, it is simply standard for any product return).
We do understand that HÜM may not suit everyone, even if in this case the product was not given much time to work. Despite what you say, and even if you don’t agree, we know from experience that HÜM has already helped and continues to help thousands of customers who are satisfied with their results. We are confident in that because we see it every day.

Terrible and misleading product
Terrible and misleading product, company massively misleads consumers and you will be charged despite 'money back guarantee'. Ordered this and was lured in with the claims of being safe and tested to EU standards. Should have done more research before ordering because I later found out these are both produced AND TESTED in China. I have zero faith in product safety testing done in China for something that will be inhaled. This info is not on the company website anywhere. Very misleading. You can get money back in within 30day window BUT you will pay return delivery, which seeing as Europe distribution centre is in France, it will cost minimum £9 from UK. Don't get suckered in like me, run a mile.

As I stated previously, the fact that they don't explicitly state manufacturing is in china is misleading. Why not just state it explicitly on the website? I would be incredibly easy to write a few lines of text. The fact they want to hide it speaks volumes. Just because China makes the world's tv's doesn't mean i trust it to make things that will be inhaled, there are plenty of reports of issues with some products in China failing to meet EU standards with regards to toxic elements, and that's for products that won't be inhaled into the body. But the issue is not just the manufacturing but also the TESTING is done in China. Again, hum don't state this explicitly, but why not? Why not just say on the website 'all our products are manufactured and tested in China to EU standards'. Then let the consumer decide if this is acceptable. Again, speaks volumes that they avoid saying it.
I spoke with paypal and the only reason they ruled in hum's favour is they don't actually have a dispute option for misleading claims, it's only if the product isn't as advertised, so you order an HD tv and it comes not HD. Misleading advertising they do not investigate. I could have gone through my bank as they do investigate misleading claims, but by that stage I wanted this over and done with.
As far as cost returns, I estimated the cost on post office calculator and it said 5.80, but when i went to the store they told me I had estimated incorrectly and it would be 9. So that's the price you'll pay in uk to return the product.
Overall, a bad faith response to my review from a bad faith company. Again, run a mile.

1️⃣ Transparency & product origin
You mention “misleading,” but could you clarify where exactly? Our website is 100% transparent about what Hüm is, how it works, and the guarantees we provide. Nowhere do we claim that it is made in the UK, France, Germany or anywhere else — because in truth, the place of assembly is irrelevant to the safety and effectiveness of the product.
What matters are the materials and the certifications. We selected high-grade steel and noble wood ourselves, and every component is tested and certified to strict UK & EU standards before reaching you. The fact that assembly takes place in China does not mean lower quality — quite the opposite.
Suggesting “Made in China” automatically equals “unsafe” is both outdated and unfair to a country that manufactures the majority of the world’s phones, TVs, medical devices and even e-cigarettes etc..
2️⃣ Safety & testing
Every Flavour Core is tested and certified according to strict EU and UK regulations before release:
• Global & specific migration tests (EU 10/2011 & 2020/1245)
• Heavy metals, primary aromatic amines & formaldehyde (all far below legal limits – Report HUAX250217050KR, Feb 2025)
• Flavour safety certificates for blueberry, mint, mango, strawberry etc. (all compliant with EU/GB food-contact standards)
So regardless of where manufacturing happens, the safety validation is European.
To claim otherwise ignores the official documents we provided to you directly.
3️⃣ 30-day guarantee & returns
It’s important to clarify that our 30-day satisfaction guarantee is not something customers are entitled to by law. Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations (2013), the only legal right is a 14-day cooling-off period if the product is unused and unopened.
We decided to go much further and voluntarily offer a 30-day trial guarantee — precisely so people can really test Hüm in their daily life before deciding. That’s an extra benefit, not an obligation.
As is standard across all online retailers in the UK & EU, return shipping costs remain the customer’s responsibility. This is normal practice, not misleading.
4️⃣ Return cost contradiction
In your own email to us you confirmed: “I have looked up the return costs for me and it is £5.80 with Royal Mail tracked.” Now you are writing here that it is “minimum £9.” This inconsistency shows the bad faith in parts of your comment.
Additional note for clarity
For full transparency: you also opened a dispute with PayPal, making the same claims (manufacturing origin, testing, refusal to cover return postage). You requested a full refund without returning the product.
PayPal reviewed both sides, examined the official EU compliance documents we submitted, and ruled in OUR favour..
However, after losing the dispute, you later contacted us to ask if you could return the product (with you covering the return postage). We agreed, in good faith, to still process your refund once the product is received.
Posting the same claims here, after PayPal’s ruling and our agreement, unfortunately doesn’t reflect the full story.

The concept is good
The concept is good. I like that no charging is required and its vaper free. I think the flavours could be stronger. Delivery is slow, expect about a 2week wait, which is not ideal but product did arrival. So far i have reduced the amount i use my vape. It definitely helps replace the habit of picking up a vape so often. I could easily switch to this over a vape , just need to bin the vape and commit.

And you're spot on: the hand-to-mouth gesture is exactly what HÜM was designed to keep. It’s often the hardest part to drop when quitting vaping or smoking. With HÜM, you keep that familiar movement and sensation… but completely natural, without any vapour, nicotine, or synthetic chemicals. Just essential oils and plant extracts — that’s it.
About the flavours — totally fair. But also, it’s super common early on (especially if you’ve been vaping heavily) for your taste buds to be a bit dulled. Most people report that after a week or two, the flavours come through more clearly. They’re subtle on purpose, but we’re also working on new ones with a stronger punch.
And yep, hands up on the delivery. We had a massive spike in orders after the article in the press — and as a small team, we’ve been working flat out to catch up. We’ve now switched to Royal Mail and things are flowing way more smoothly.

Been using the Hüm for about 4 months after switching from vaping. My GP suggested I try something natural to help with the habit side of things. Have to say, it's worked a treat! The build quality is spot on - feels proper solid, not like some cheap tat. Only gripe is the cores don't last as long as I'd like, especially if you're a heavy user like I was. But compared to what I was spending on fags (£15 a pack nowadays, mental!), it's still saving me a fortune. My Stop Smoking Service advisor was quite impressed with the results too.

Great device, just don't like the flavours
The device itself is well made and looks like it will last a long time. Loading the flavour sticks into the device is straightforward and they seem to last significantly longer than advertised (although admittedly I don't use the device all day/everyday and close up the vent when its not in use to help with that).
My only real issue is the flavours themselves. I ordered 6 different flavours (Vanilla, Strawberry, Mango, Lemon, Cinnamon and Mint) and strongly disliked them all other than the vanilla which I could JUST about get away with. They all smell amazing but taste nothing like the smell. This is of course my own, entirely subjective opinion.
I now use mine with menthol filter tips and that works great for me.
