Faulty Fellowes Shredder

Within months of purchasing a Fellowes shredder, the Bin or Basket cracked from the bottom up on 1 side. In addition, the shredder jams up after individually shredding approximately 10 sheets of paper. I contacted Fellowes but regrettably did not retain the receipt so they denied my request for a replacement Basket; adding that they do not stock parts for this model. I had offered to pay a portion of the replacement cost. I will never again buy a Fellowes product.

We've had three Fellows paper shredders…

We've had three Fellows paper shredders .
However trying each time to get it back moving to shredding normal paper we've found it takes far too long.
Then it just wouldn't work.
We returned the first one back then paid for another more expensive one .
Second one we also had a problem with, two sheets of normal paper not shredding.
So we bought third one same problems only this time it shut down after 2 days and still wouldn't work.
We had friends whom had similar problems with the same shredder saying they certainly wouldn't bother with the company again.
It's cost us dearly and we still haven't been able to use this product .
Not Happy

Basic shredder

I followed the instructions implicitly, waiting the required 2 - 3 secs per shredding instructions, but the shredder overheated. I purchased the oiled sheets, so I could use those as instructed as well. Tried more shredding after 40 mins, very carefully, but it did the same. Going to return it to Argos

After acknowledging we have been using…

After acknowledging we have been using our little Fellows shredder for at least 15 years, I though I'd google the manufacturer to still see if they were still in existence. From my search, obviously I've stumbled upon these reviews. Being a little dumfounded by 1. how this little machine has managed to cope with shredding paperwork throughout all these years without fault, and 2. the 1 star reviews, I felt compelled to type... Our little Fellow S8-80 has and continues to surprise me with its longevity and durability. I / we have shredded documents that at times have also included paperclips. This is a remarkable little machine that I would recommend to anyone.

Not worth it

Very disappointed with the Powershed M-8C shredder. Tried to register it on line, but it would not let me.
Supposed to shred 8 papers at a time. Only put in 3or 4 each time, but after a few minutes the shredder was jammed and clogged solid with the shreds. We managed to clear it eventually but even after just putting in 1 piece of paper each time it still got jammed and clogged.
Total waste of money I ended up using a guillotine.

If I could give this brand/company a 0…

If I could give this brand/company a 0 star I would but it would not allow me. The worst shredder to exist. It is falsely advertised as the “world’s toughest shredder”. It is a complete waste of money as the shredder keeps getting stuck when shredding one paper and I have to keep taking the paper out. It makes a loud sound and the fellowes oil does not help at all. Contacted customer service for assistance. They denied to repair or replace the product or provide any advice or assistance. Rude and dismissive people. Also. They breached confidentiality and sent my contact details to the wrong people. Do not buy a shredder from fellowes! Complete waste and false advertisement.

Waste of money!

I bought the most expensive shredder that I've ever owned from Fellowes, it is a Fellows 12C and is suppose to shred upto 12 pages - it can't even shred 1 x page! I'm constantly trying to dig out the paper that just builds up in the shredding blades!! Do not buy, it's such a hassle, total waste of time and money.

I really would not recommend Fellowes…

I really would not recommend Fellowes shredders. I have had nothing but trouble with mine. Each time I have shredded a few pages, it gets jammed and I've needed to spend hours (literally) trying to get paper bits out of the machine. I even purchased their own brand of oil in order to prevent this problem to no avail. They won't replace it as it is out of the 1 year warranty and did not offer to repair or have a look at it.

Fellowes 60Cs - useless shredder

Useless. Fellowes 60Cs - incapable of shredding postage labels which is all I want / need to shred. Complained and was told by the company it is only for shredding paper, not labels. 'That is what the advertising says'. Strange, I thought labels were paper. Refused to allow me to return it as faulty. Can't return it to supplier under distance selling regulations as I had to use it to prove it is completely useless. Suggest you think twice before buying one of their products and make sure you know EXACTLY what you are likely to want to shred over the life of the shredder.

Cash back offer is a con

Cash back offer is a con. Ordered a shredder from Argos for home delivery, even provided Fellowes with the serial number but somehow the argos emails are not sufficient as proof of purchase. If I didn’t keep the shredder, then how do I know the serial number?
My mum is ill with cancer and now I have to chase Argos for an invoice!! Appalling experience. I provided the serial number - how much proof do you need! I don’t have the time or energy to care for a cancer patient and chase Argos for an invoice when all proof of payment and delivery confirmation emails were forwarded. Any excuse not to pay out.

Fellowes 8MC shredder

I bought a Fellowes shredder from John Lewis, as I was told by various people that Fellowes shredders are brilliant. What a load of rubbish. It's been a complete nightmare. In the end I got a refund from John Lewis. It can barely shred three A4 sheets one at a time and not jam. It was also supposed to be anti-jamming!!!! The basket is about a 1/4 full and all the shreddings are jammed in the top part where the blades are. By far the worst machine I have ever bought. I will be replacing with a Rexel, which was my previous shredder that lasted about 10 years and did huge amounts without jamming. I wanted to attach a picture, of a jammed unit, but doesn't appear that I can.

This is the 3rd Fellowes Paper…

This is the 3rd Fellowes Paper Shredder, this time P-35C for domestic household use, ie just me. They have all been hopeless

Supposed to shred up to 5 sheets of A4 paper struggles to manage one sheet of A4 shreds for up to 5 minutes, gets warm and cuts out then wait 10-20 minutes to cool down and can use again for 5 mins. I don't need a large shredder taking up space, I just needs a shredder that does what it says. Hopeless products
