Paul and David helped us with our new mortgage for our home move. Process was very straight forward and fuss free. Really handy to be able to upload documents online to save having to take physical copies.

Terrible experience. I am a young person and was hoping to find out about buyers schemes and mortgage rates, I was called first by a man whose name I can't remember to make a video call appointment - he was very helpful and understanding and didn't seem phased when I said I hadn't found a house yet and wasn't planning on getting a mortgage set up on the meeting. Then come to the video call where I first spoke to Neale. He told me something wasn't working on his end so we could only do a normal phone call, fine, then proceeded to be condescending and uninterested in the whole ordeal. Especially when I emphasised the fact that I wasn't 100% ready to buy there and then and wanted a few more months to get a bigger deposit. He clearly thought I was a waste of his time and any questions I has about schemes or new builds, he brushed off as "you don't need to worry about that yet" and all he cared about was finding out how much I could borrow. Yes, I do need to know that but I wanted to speak to an advisor for ADVICE and he has absolutely none to give. Oh, he was also incredibly unprofessional about personal details that had absolutely nothing to do with a house buying process (he doesn't need to know why a family member is in hospital??????). Finally, he said he would be in touch once he had a figure that I could potentially borrow, so off he went, meanwhile I had gotten absolutely nothing useful out of that 15 minute phone call. A day later he rang me back to tell me how much I could potentially borrow, again, absolutely no interest in the conversation whatsoever, his tone with me was awful, it was like he wanted me know he didn't give a f***. Anyway, he told me, then asked more questions about my company vehicle and how that works, I had to go to work so ended up messaging him the answers to his questions. That was 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything more from him. I am quite grateful for that to be fair though as this was the first place I had gone to for a conversation bout buying a first house and it completely put me off. If you didn't want to speak to me because you thought it wasn't worth your time, I would have rather you told me that instead of wasting mine. I think someone needs to have a word with Neale about the way he treats young inexperienced people in the market, and about personal matters do and don't matter when getting information. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.

I went to Lyndsey at the Musselburgh branch on the recommendation of friends. After explaining the remortgage process and what level of cover I would need she found me a new rate and put cover in place straight away. She made a complicated process feel very easy.

Kirsty supported us throughout our long journey to purchasing our first home. (Over a year and half!) She took the time to explain everything clearly and patiently, which made the whole process much less stressful and helped us feel at ease every step of the way. We'd also like to give a special mention to Donald for his support during the final stages of the purchase.

I couldn’t recommend first mortgages enough. They were extremely helpful throughout the whole process and made what could have been a very stressful experience feel much easier, specifically Jennifer & Alison.

Just want to let people know that if you guys want an easy and detailed way to buy your new home these people are awesome!!! Went to George Street department and met Cameron Spence and Katerina Dvorakova. I was clueless 🙈 And as a person from another country everything was looking so difficult but the guys had lots of patience, explained everything in details and updated me since step one. They have lots of experience in what they are doing and as a conclusion.... Im having the keys of my dream house in about 3 weeks. All process took about only a month. Thank you guys 😊 💙❤️🌹
