Consumers frequently complain about denied claims, severely delayed payments, and unhelpful customer service representatives who frequently hang up or offer no real solutions to problems. People also experience major frustrations with repair contractors who fail to show up, take weeks to arrive, or refuse to work with the company because of unpaid bills. Reviewers noted that certain representatives went out of their way to clearly explain processes and make handling payments much easier.

First Premier Home Warranty took my information after assuring me I wouldn’t be charged until they recovered my unused balance from Choice Home Warranty. They never obtained that refund but still charged my card $75 and refused to correct it. When I spoke with a manager named Melisa, she showed no willingness to resolve the issue or retain a future customer. If this is how they handle billing, I can only imagine how they treat real claims. Be very cautious before signing up.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – A Trap of Low Premiums and Poor Service

I strongly advise anyone considering this home appliance insurance to stay away from this company. The low premium rates might look attractive at first, but they come with a web of restrictions, inefficiency, and denial tactics that make the policy almost useless when you actually need it.

I had a claim for my microwave, and the entire experience has been a nightmare. The technician came and fixed the issue, but also noted in his report that a part should be replaced to prevent it from happening again. A week later, the microwave broke down again — exactly as the technician had warned.

When I tried to file a new claim, the company refused to help. Their online portal wouldn’t even let me submit a new claim because the previous one was still “active.” Customer support told me to contact the technician directly, but he couldn’t come without the company’s prior approval. Essentially, I was trapped in a loop with no resolution.

To make matters worse, the insurance company denied the claim for the part replacement that the technician had explicitly recommended. So despite paying for coverage, I’m left with a broken appliance, a denied claim, and a process that goes nowhere.

The customer representatives have no call etiquette. They say what they have to say and hang up without waiting for me to acknowledge or respond to what they said.

PSA!!

PSA!!! If I could leave this company ZERO STARS I would!!! This has been the most infuriating experience of my life! I called them to file a claim to get my hvac unit fixed and they said they would send an email with contractor info within 24-48 hours. Fast forward 3 days later, still nothing. So I call them back, find out my email, phone number AND property number in their system is entered incorrectly, so that is why I am receiving nothing, so they give me the contractors information. I call the contractor, get scheduled for diagnostics 2-3 days later. They don’t show, so I call them back and they schedule me again for next day. They show up, diagnose I have a leak, need several lbs of refrigerant and a new blower in the unit. So then we’re trying to get ahold of first premier about moving forward, because it’s becoming cold out and I have an INFANT in my home!! This company is a total SCAM. They’re super nice at first when they want your money, but once you actually need them to fulfill their end of a claim, they leave you on hold for HOURS to no avail everyday, tell you to email for faster responses, then when you do, they tell you to call the same number that they never answer. And when they do answer, they either tell you to call back tomorrow or immediately put you back on hold for 30-40 mins and hang up. This is such a piss poor company!! ZERO STARS!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

This company is the absolute worst

This company is the absolute worst. Their sales department convinced me to sign up for 3 years and then another 6 months free for their "platinum" service plan. When I went to use the service a contractor came out and sent information to them for the repair/replacement and instead of having this done they offered me $100 to repair/replace my garbage disposal. I then had a second claim a few months later for a washer and repair contractor showed up (same as first) and said he would not work with this company, they do not pay their bills. I informed First Premier and they then again said they would be sending me a "cash in lieu of repair" form to sign instead of repairing the washer. I have been waiting 4 weeks now for them to send out the form to see what they will be offering me. I have yet to receive the cash for the first claim and it has been over 90 days since I accepted their offer. Do not use this company, they will take your money then not honor the warranty and give you the run around about it if you can even get through to them on the phone when you call, I have spent over an hour on hold to see if anyone would answer, I believe they are screening or blocking my calls and not answering anymore.

Bogus as Hell

Personally I don't think this company can or want to change their business model. Headquarter in new York insulates them from from civil suits so they keep rolling. I'm 72 years old,
prior service US
Army, any retired Department of Veterans Affaiifrs. I've made many mistakes in my lifetime but doing business with this company is arguably the worst. Very poor, any uncaring owner Andrew staff. They would rather lie to you or simply refuse to answer your calls. Case in point I've had no other choice but to file detail complaints with our BBB, any I've also filed a complaint with our state's Attornneys General. Personally I do not expect together back the funds ive lost dealingwith this sham of a company but maybe icaaan prevent other Texans from making the mistake i made lying down with a snake. Do your homework, dive deep in to their business practice, look at the reviews and please don't make the same mistake I made, and find yourself in the same position I'm in, having to pay for my own repairs

WORST COMPANY EVER

I truly regret ever signing up with this company. What I thought would bring peace of mind ended up being a nightmare. They were quick to take my money, but when it came to providing service or standing by their promises, they completely failed.

When I decided to cancel my policy — after realizing how poor their service was — they refused to refund me, even though I’d been with them for less than a year. That alone says a lot about how they treat customers.

What’s even worse is that most contractors refuse to work with them because they don’t pay their bills. Several technicians came out to my home and later told me they would never accept another job from this company. As a customer, that leaves you stuck in the middle — paying for a warranty that’s practically useless because no one wants to do the work.

Their customer service is an absolute joke. Every call turns into a run-around. They stall, make excuses, and promise that a manager will call you back at a specific time — but the call never comes. It feels like a deliberate tactic to wear you down so you give up on getting help.

I’ve used other home warranty companies before and never experienced anything like this. 1st Premier is by far the worst I have ever dealt with — dishonest, unreliable, and predatory. They don’t care about customers; they only care about collecting money up front.

⚠️ Save yourself the stress and frustration. Stay far away from this company. I wouldn’t wish my experience on anyone. A home warranty is supposed to give you protection and peace of mind — with 1st Premier, you’ll get neither.

If you value your time, money, and sanity, look elsewhere. This company has shown time and again that they will gladly take your money and leave you stranded when you actually need help

Poor customer service

I purchased this policy in good faith for an older home I purchased. Promises, promises. I have a claim that I presented and have not had any follow up from the customer service people. I can't reach them by phone. I was on hold for 45 minutes. Frustration is an understatement and I cannot recommend this company. I am going to try and recoup the premium I paid.

I AM IN PROCESS OF SELLING MY HOME

I AM IN PROCESS OF SELLING MY HOME. THE BUYER HAS HIS OWN POLICY AND HAS MOVED TO MY HOME THROUGH THE ESCROW COMPANY. I AM MOVING TO AN HOA FOR SENIORS AND DO NOT NEED A HOME WARRANTY POLICY. THEY REFUSE TO REFUND THE BALANCE OF MY 3 YEAR CONTRACT. THEY WILL NOT SEND ME A CANCELLATION FOR FOR SIGNATURE. SERIOUSLY, THEY ARE THE POOREST CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPT. I HAVE EVER DELT WITH. PLUS NOTHING THAT BREAKS IN YOU HOME SEEMS NEVER COVERED. RUN FOR THE HILLS THIS IS A BAD COMPANY.

Don't waste time or money!!

This company has great sales people, sounds like a great deal for the price over 6 years. But you pay that money up front, then they conveniently forget to send you the details of the policy. 3 months in to policy, had a claim. First repair man no-showed. Then 2nd one said no longer made parts. NOW that's when they tell you your appliances are only replaced base off depreciated value and send you the policy! So my top of the line 30-yr old Maytag (back when they made them high quality) was only worth about $240 even though it was about $2K to replace with a different high quality one! No one from company would respond to my requests to cancel my policy and give back pro-rated payment. I went to a new warranty company!

⭐ 1-Star Review

⭐ 1-Star Review – Extremely Disappointed with First Premier Home Warranty

I am beyond frustrated with the terrible service from First Premier Home Warranty. When my washing machine broke down, I expected a fair replacement or repair under the policy I’ve been paying for. Instead, they offered me a laughable “cash buyout” of only $153 for a washer that costs over $600 to replace.

This is insulting. A warranty is supposed to provide peace of mind and actual protection when something breaks—not a lowball payout that doesn’t come close to covering the cost. I pay good money for this coverage, and when I finally needed it, they completely failed me.

The process was slow, communication was poor, and at the end of the day, they tried to push me off with an amount that doesn’t even cover half of a replacement. This feels like a scam, and I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Save yourself the stress and frustration—look elsewhere for a warranty provider that actually honors their commitments. First Premier Home Warranty is not worth it.

That they don’t pay valid claims.

This company has made it extremely difficult to cancel. They denied a claim with a vague description of why . It was for my air handler that I had just had whole ac system maintenance 1 month prior to the fan motor going bad. The customer service is horrible. I believe they are a scam company, would not use.

They are unprofessional

They are unprofessional. Man came out for plumbing issues. Didn’t fix the toilet. Water flooded the floor. I called them back they day got voicemail. Next day no call back from company they sent out. Called 1premier home warranty. Informed they would not respond before Monday or Tuesday of next week. No call back so I call, finally got to a supervisor. He said the item was fixed. Did not forward call to corporate or give me the number. Hired another company that fixed the problems. Request a refund of premiums, never got an ask knowledgement. Still no refund , no call back. Can reach corporate and they don’t respond to emails!

Scam, stay away

The company is a scam; do not purchase their warranty. They resist making any repairs, even for something as simple as a $200 fix. Dealing with them is more of a headache than a peace of mind. I would rather pay for repairs out of pocket than go through them, as the process is a nightmare. It took me two weeks and another several weeks to prove to my bank that they are a scam and I want my money back, so the bank credited my money back because they didn't provide the service.

Brooklyn, NY Scammers

This is a company of scammers based in Brooklyn, NY. They called me and foolishly I gave them my credit card. I am 87 with a severe hearing loss. After hanging up I immediately called the salesman back and asked to cancel. Then I called Barclays to stop the charge but was told that I had to wait until it posted. After several more phone calls I was connected with cancellations at this scammer and they emailed me a form that promised full refund. I signed the refund form and emailed
It back and followed up with a phone call and was assured that they had everything that they needed to get my refund. Approximately a week and a half later I called and another person told me it would take 30-90 days to get my payment. I then filed a dispute with Barclays Bank. This began on May 12, 2025. It is now July 29, 2025 and II still
Haven’t received my $399. Do not do business with these scammers. They lie to the bank, make up excuses and cheat consumers. I’ve filed a formal complaint with NY’s Attorney General.

Please BEWARE of this company

Please BEWARE of this company. Look at other companies before using this company or just go without. My first claim with First Premier Home Warranty because our washer was not working correctly. The technician came and said the issue with the washer was the interface and the part was no longer sold. This is a Samsung washer that is two years old bought brand new. First Premier Home Warranty said that being the washer can not be a repaired, it would be a buyout. This company offered us $50 cash in lieu for a new washer. When I purchased this policy almost a year ago with Tony Franco, I was advised when an appliance breaks and it can not be repaired, it would be replaced with like or similar model. This company did not hold up to there bargain. This company uses scam selling tactics to get people to buy their policies and then do not follow through. This company is deceit, rude, unprofessional and are running deceitful business practices. I called and was not able to speak with no one higher than a manager. Stay away from this company.

Dishonorable Company

This goes back to November 2024 when I needed furnace repair and they set it up with the company they used before who had been out 2 times previously. They informed me they no longer did business with FP. FP then offered to either set up with someone else or I choose my own and get reimbursed for it. I chose another of their contractors but was unable to get a response. My brother in law called someone and told me about them coming out and I let FP know we had to call our own service and I would be doing the reimbursement. Later the reimbursement was only 56% of the total and I questioned why but could get no one to answer me. I ended up signing it because I was financially strapped. I was told it would be to me within 14 to 30 days. I checked back with them several times to check on it. 30 went by and no check, I called and they then said 14 to 30 BUSINESS days. So I waited until mail came on the 30th day any no check so I called and they tried to tell me there was a delay with the carrier. I called them on that one as they admitted it hadn't been cut yet. I called and called, wrote BBB. They kept answering with stock answers. I wrote to cancel my policy as I had paid upfront for 5 years, they told me there would be cancellation fees and administrative fees. I got copies of my other calls from the company who came out before. They were paid a total that covered less than 1 years of my policy. My check came and it was short $45, my deductible which the document said if I sent the paid invoices to them that would not be deducted. I sent them those invoices 3 TIMES! So now I considered it to be 2 breaches of contract as the check arrived 60+ days after the document was signed and delivered. When I finally got a number for a refund of 3 Years, it was 10% of my 3 years prepaid! I refused, asked for a detailed breakdown of how they came to that and they rattled off all sorts of things some of which I didn't understand and nothing I accepted. I asked for it in writing and they agreed within 48 hours. It never came. I am looking at a lawsuit of which they have many. They are dishonorable as they are an insurance company and any insurance company refunds unused premiums. Scam artist.
