I had a consultation with Dr Laura…

I had a consultation with Dr Laura Stapleton. She was incredible. Put my mind at ease and diagnosed my pup in approx. 5mins. She was so helpful and personable and really made me feel at ease. Thank you so much Laura.

Firstvet is fantastic

Firstvet is fantastic. I didn't have to pick my dog up and take him to the vet. The vet managed to see him on the video call and diagnose him properly. She was really kind and lovely. Saved me a lot of time and worry. Thank you!

I've had 2 consultations via video…

I've had 2 consultations via video through Waggel, and both were really helpful and saved me paying for my normal vet. I thought a video call would be very basic but both times I hung up feeling like the consultation was very thorough and satisfied with the advice given. A perfect alternative to going out to the vet clinic and can also advise if this is necessary which is really useful to have.

This service is a life changer

This service is a life changer! It came free with my insurance and I was sceptical to say the least. I’ve had a few issues with my pup whereby I have called the vets immediately but in this case on a Saturday at 9pm I thought I’d give FirstVet a go. I had a call back within 30 minutes, I spoke to Dr Cathy who was amazing, so personable and lovely. She had a good look at my pups eye (as well as you can over a video call) and gave a few differential diagnosis’ and suggested that unfortunately I should attend the out of hours vet practice for further investigation. She was very calm (I’m not sure I was) and reassured me that eye problems are very common in pugs and that it’s best to get it seen to ASAP. I attended the practice who diagnosed him with a corneal injury - Dr Cathy’s diagnosis was spot on! I cannot thank you enough, realistically if I hadn’t have called I probably would have waited until I could get an appointment in the week (my little boy didn’t look unwell just had a few odd symptoms) and things could have been so much worse!

This service is honestly worth it’s weight in gold! Out of hours it’s £30 to call firstvet for advice/to put your mind at rest and it’s at least 5 times that to see a vet in person!

Really good service

This service came with my insurance and it has been absolutely invaluable for me. All my virtual appointments have been on time, no technical issues, and always got thorough and helpful advice from the vets. No complaints here!

brilliant service thank you!

Really happy, actually able to really spend time working out when symptoms appeared, where/ environment etc. Due to covid and dogs getting handed over at the door, Im just not getting the time with a vet at my local surgery to look at real cause of problems and ended up with antibiotics that wernt necessary, the FirstVet I spoke was really brilliant, and happy to go into detail and properly diagnose an allergy. Very happy and relieved. Very happy my pet insurance Bought by Many pays for this service as part od my cover. Excellent combo :):)

I just paid 65.00 for a vet…

I just paid 65.00 for a vet consultation. It first showed 7:45 today and then it changed to 6:45. And I have not received any phone call. Do I have to file a claim with the attorney general to get my money back!!!!!!! I am in the United States I need an answer tonight!!!!!!!!

Amazing service and Dr Cindy Blick is fantastic

We have an 11 week old pup who was extremely lethargic and wasn’t eating/drinking... we were very concerned but equally didn’t want to waste anyone’s time! However, we get free vet calls with our insurance and were so lucky to have a video call with Dr Cindy who helped us thoroughly check Maisie and most importantly reassured us that we had done the right thing and she is absolutely fine. Dr Cindy gave us some advice which has worked and Maisie is back (about 80%) to her normal, playful puppy self!
Dr Cindy is so lovely, kind and genuine. Couldn't recommend this service enough as well as this particular vet. Outstanding service.

The app is VERY misleading

The app is VERY misleading. The ONLY reason I purchased the app was to get my dogs meds because I didn’t want to have to go in because of COVID. You don’t find out you can’t get meds until after the purchase. I didn’t use the service and immediately canceled and deleted the app and they still charged me and of course there is no customer service number you can call. Why would anyone purchase a service where they literally can’t do ANYTHING but talk to you and tell you to go see a real vet?? I’ve emailed them about a refund and will update the review once I figure that out. They will probably try to screw me out of that too. Very shady.

We received your email on Saturday at 8:06pm EST and responded this morning (7/19 @ 10:30am EST) stating that you have been refunded, and also explaining why our veterinarians cannot prescribe. We do message at various points in the app including before purchase that our veterinarians cannot prescribe. We provide general medical advice which oftentimes (50-60% of the time) means that the pet owner can resolve the perceived emergency at home.

Not impressed by the service

Not impressed by the service - I had issue to connect to the app. I tried to login in caue the app unloging me. I received the text 5 mins after asking for it - the code expired after 5 mins.
Then, I tried on my computer, issue too. I tried again on the app. . 5 min later, I received the text, it works. Finally, I got on video with the vet. First sentence from the vet, " I have only 3 mins because you are late" - WOW, exactly what I want to hear when I'm worried about my dog crying cause he has something in his ear. 3 mins later she didn't ask any question and the call ends. Not going to use this app again.

And to justify their incompetency, they will blame the customer for being stressed and annoyed by a vet who doesn't ask anything about the dog and worried about her next appointment. At the end of the call, I swear yes cause I wasted my time thinking I could get help from the app and I was in distress for my dog.

Impressive, easy to use and available quickly ...

I have just used this service for the first time (it came with my pet insurance which I took out a couple of days ago). The First Vet service was fantastic. I got an appointment within half an hour, the vet was very personable and clear and prompt. Love the written post consultation report with tips on product to use to help my little dog.

This app is not helpful if you want to…

This app is not helpful if you want to treat your pet. First thing is that you cannot get any medication prescribed to your pet. So is just a way of ripping you off . They don’t event have a phone number for you to call and cancel you appointment . If you need medical help take your pet to a vet . This is a rip-off.

We used FirstVet several times when we first brought our puppy home. All the vets we spoke to were friendly, calm, and professional and on one occasion referred us to our local vet for an in-person check up. I would highly recommend their services (note: their service is included with out pet insurance).

A positive first experience

Excellent vet service. Fionnuala Coyle was professional and thorough. Great post-consultation report, too, which included a reminder of what to do and observe. My only gripe is that the app only allows you to upload images, not video, which is at odds with a video service, especially when something like a paroxysmal cough can't be captured as an image. I was, however, given an email address to send my video to, which I did, after the call.

Mila was wonderful!

Mila was wonderful. She reassured me that my pup was okay and didn’t make me feel stupid for worrying about his eyes. She was very knowledgeable, gave me advise on what to do if the situation changes and was so lovely. Was right on time and was very attentive ☺️ Will definitely be using the service again. Thank you!

This video call service is fantastic

This video call service is fantastic. We have a little pup who is only 10 weeks old. Last night she started feeling unwell, was wretching and making what sounded like a constant sneezing sound. With her being a toy breed and so baby I arranged a video call with the vet. This service is free through my insurance with Waggle. I got an appointment for 4am (15 minutes after signing up) and spoke with someone called Emma. She was fantastic. So knowledgable. So reassuring and the follow up notes and clear instructions were all part of their fantastic service. I was no rushed. Everything was explained in full depth and what stages should happen next. Luckily our pup has woken up fine :) cannot thank FirstVet enough :)

A Great Easy To Use On Line Service.

We have access to First Vet via our pet insurance through Bought By Many, and used it for the first time today. I have to say that I am extremely impressed.
I was lucky enough to speak to Dr Immacolata Sgulo who was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and made me feel confident that she had my pet's best interests as her main focus.
She provided what I believe to be excellent advice and confirmed this in an email which arrived promptly. She also confirmed that I could arrange a follow-up appointment with her should I have any further questions or concerns.
All in all a great service worthy of 5 stars and Dr Sgulo is a great ambassador for the service.

Non attendance for appointments

Needed to use the app for first time for our 9 month old pup as she was being sick and wanted some advice instead of going to a vet practice. Booked first appointment and got confirmation text, waited with phone open and no consultant attended. Made a 2nd appointment and got confirmation text again with a different consultant and yet again nobody attended the appointment. Have now visited a local vet and paid for short consultation instead. This service might be good if the appointments were attended to but I had no such luck and therefore 1 star (should be 0 stars) from my experience.
